In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

Grandmadinosaur, so sorry to read about your DVT, what a fright for you. Hope the medicine helps and you feel much better soon. Thinking of you, and of all the lovely Kitchen people with pain or illness just now. 💕🙏

Grannmarie Mon 15-Sept-25 22:26:48

The gift of hope, FGT, such a blessing for you both. I hear good reports of the prescribed build up drinks, sorry I can't remember the brand name, my friend's Mum was on them when her appetite was poor and they certainly helped her to put some weight on.

YiaYia, thinking of you and your DH. Enjoy your holiday in the sun, it will do you all a power of good, then see what your consultant has to say.

Nannytopsy, sounds like a wonderful family holiday, I do love a market, enjoy every minute!🌞😎😎

Good luck in the quiz Jaxjacky, your daughter might bring her luck with her! Fantastic news about her win! Enjoy your holiday in Cornwall.

Uttb, so sorry to hear about your wee turn after the dental appointment, hoping and praying that you are feeling better now. 💕🙏

Cornergran, sorry to hear about your eye. Hope you get a good night's sleep and it feels a bit better in the morning.

Grandmabatty, well done, your school library project is going from strength to strength, what an asset for the children and teachers! 🌟 🌟 🌟

brook, I hope you are comfy and cosy now after your soaking. I got soaked yesterday and ended up coughing half the night. I might have to make a medicinal toddy tonight... I might have to look out jeans, socks and boots soon, I'm still in linen trousers bare legs and slingbacks.

All three of my boys were here at the weekend, helping me with clearing the garage and sorting some more of their Dad's things. They've kept some of his tools and DS2 has taken his Dad's pasting table. I'm glad it's staying in the family. It was good to have them all round my table, chatting away. I don't often have them all to myself, did my heart good.

Thinking of the Soops, Blossomings, SueD and DH, and all our friends in the quiet corner. Wishing everyone a peaceful Monday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA, NNGB.

We’ve been to see the Prof at Christie’s. Such a wonderful inspiring clinician. We’ve not seen him for months, always one of his team. He was delighted to see Himself got over sepsis “you had us quite worried”.

Guardedly good news. If Himself can gain a bit of weight and get stronger then iv chemotherapy is on the cards. We go back in a fortnight for a decision to be made. 🤞

We have some hope now, which is a powerful tool in itself isn’t it?

brook2704 Mon 15-Sept-25 20:01:32

Enjoy your time in Cornwall Jax it’s beautiful whatever the weather 😎☔️ safe travels

Jaxjacky Mon 15-Sept-25 19:13:57

Hi all, I d hope the consultant can ease your worries Yia
Slowly does it utbb but a good check up otherwise and done for a while.
That’s very annoying corner after the previous ones, let’s hope it eases with no return needed.
A quiet Monday, some essential housework, a nip to the village for a book from the charity shop, I badly misjudged my last two library books and they don’t suit me, I must have a book.
We’re off tomorrow for a few days in Cornwall, hoping it’s not raining all of the time, it’s an area I’ve not been to for many years. MrJ did a job there a few years ago, we’ll explore and I won’t cook!!
Quiz soon, my daughter is in our team, probably still floating.

Usedtobeblonde Mon 15-Sept-25 18:40:46

How lovely Nannytopsy to be enjoying sunshine.
It is wet and windy here and very chilly, I have the CH on.
I hope the littlies soon get used to the pool, enjoying being in water is such a lovely thing.

Nannytopsy Mon 15-Sept-25 18:23:52

I’m glad all went well at the dentist utb but sorry getting up was a bit wobbly. Delighted for your daughter jax - what a result. yia I’ll hope for the best with you. Enjoy your holiday.
We are having a great time, with two giggling toddlers! The sun has come out but persuading them into the pool is a challenge! Maybe tomorrow when we get back from a market - I do love a French market. ☺️

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Sept-25 18:03:35

Cornergran that's rotten for you. I hope your eye settles down soon. Brook We've had showers here but it's been really cold. I had the heating on earlier.
The boys are away. Dgs1 is at football training and dgs2 has been picked up by his mummy. I had a good day today. The school library is becoming really popular and useful. Lots of teachers speaking to me today. Dgs1's teacher is having a chat with me tomorrow about library matters. If you build it, they will come, to paraphrase Kevin Costner.
Tonight I'm having leftovers, chicken pie and mashed potatoes and a glass of wine. I'll probably have an early night. Toya

Redcar Mon 15-Sept-25 17:51:27

utbb I always have to be careful standing up from the dentist’s chair, I’ve had vertigo in the past and getting up from anything too quickly makes me wobbly. It’s horrible isn’t it.
* corner* I hope your eye is better tomorrow and you don’t have to go back to the hospital.

brook2704 Mon 15-Sept-25 17:49:22

Sorry to hear about the dentist uttb I hope you’re feeling ok now, take care
It’s rained all day here so after my volunteering session this morning I went into town for a browse around the shops. Home on the bus and now I’m trying to dry off a bit as I got soaked through walking home from the bus stop
Hope your eye is ok tomorrow corner and no need to return. I’ve got our heating on too and I’m sat under a blanket 🤣
Thinking of Soop, fgt and all in the quiet corner, take care all x

brook2704 Mon 15-Sept-25 17:17:08

Yia thinking of you and your DH, hope you get to see the consultant soon 💐

cornergran Mon 15-Sept-25 16:58:45

Catching up, or trying to. Mr C would say I’m very trying!

Pleased all went well at the dentist utb even if getting up was a bit wobbly, and delighted for your daughter jax. That must have been disappointing yia, I’ll hope for the best with you. Enjoy your holiday, you both deserve to.

Trotted off to the eye hospital, without a worry, for the last of the scheduled eye injections. Sadly this one was oh so painful and I’ve some difficult not previously experienced after effects. If no better tomorrow I’ll call the helpline and hope I don’t need to go back, 90 minutes each way is tedious. I couldn’t get warm, the heating is on, a real comfort. I’m off to find a blanket and recover.

Take care everyone.
