Iāve just read your post utbb, what a horribly scary experience for you. I can remember having dreadful dreams when I was a child, nearly always followed next day by a high temperature and some sort of infection. I hope it doesnāt happen again.
blossoming Iām glad your blood pressure is holding steady!
Night night everyone!

Soopās cosy kitchen for kindly and caring folk
(1001 Posts)In *soopās absence Iāve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterdayās quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, Iāve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With š¹to soop and others struggling.
Well done to yiayiaās DGS and to Imogen too, excellent results for them both.
Itās been so hot here today, the garden thermometer said it was 32 degrees this afternoon! Itās 22 now but still stifling indoors. I cut down most of the hollyhocks, just one plant sprawling over the tomatoes now, but its flowers are a pretty colour so Iāll leave it for a few days more. Picked some tomatoes, the bigger ones are finally showing signs of ripening.
DD1 returned from Edinburgh this afternoon, very grumpy as she hadnāt slept well in the hotel last night. DD2 took all four granddaughters to a beach today which they all enjoyed. When they got home she took them all swimming! Iām envious of her energy!
Certainly a very busy day for you jax, I hope you sleep well tonight! I donāt think I could cope with all that activity now unfortunately.
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone and sleep well!
That is distressing, Utbb, I hope you soon feel better.
When my DH was diagnosed in the spring, I remember you mentioning your friend.
My DH continues with his hormone treatments & next Friday has a preparation scan, ready for palliative, strong radiotherapy next month.
We soldier on.....
My warm & caring thoughts for soop & all in her friendly kitchen. x
What a hectic post! It reflects my day š
Oh no UTBB sounds like a touch of heat stroke maybe, I hope you feel better and it doesnāt happen again.
Thumb still improving llfl
Itās been hot, 30 at least, still 27 now, stretch class this morning was a little sticky to say the least.
The house has been non stop since about 5ā my son is living here temporarily, he and his fiancĆ©e split up, I picked up my daughter and children. Daughter is out this evening, children staying here, but Imogen working in the pub, so a quick pizza and dropped her off after dropping daughter at her friends house.
MrJ will escort Imogen home later, Iām having a glass of wine before I assemble my salad, MrJ is having pizza, I need to water, did cook some beetroot earlier, their cooling.
Yia a mixed bag, but as they say no news is good news, well done your grandson, Imogen has had a B for her first college year of criminology.
What a nuisance Grandmabatty, the replacements usually arrive quite quickly.
Oh UTBB that sounds really unsettling for you. I hope you are feeling better now.
A day of mixed fortunes for me. This morning dd and I went to the furniture shop where I bought a new rug for my living room. I say 'I' bought it, but dd paid for it because my bank card has gone missing which I only discovered at the shop. We had a coffee and a scone(again courtesy of ds) and I came home and searched for the missing card but to no avail. So it's cancelled and I'm waiting for a new one to pop through the door. So annoying and especially when it's my fault. I'm sure I lost it on the way home from the car wash yesterday.
In the afternoon I worked in the school library for two hours then came home and brought the washing in. I have a potato baking for my dinner. I've also started to put back everything in the living room so a busy day for me. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners
I have a houseful Thankyou Yia
My S and his two Sās, one lives here full time, one during school holidays and every weekend and my GD who is 26 and her BF who seems to be here most of the time.
They are all here today.
Truthfully I just need some peace although I can never say I am lonely !!
Bless you UTBB. Maybe you have a virus, I think lots of things are going round,I hope you have someone with you.š»
Sorry you didnāt get results Yia and things canāt move on yet.
Our friend (61) cannot have a Prostate op.
He has had radiation which consisted of ārods ā inserted under a GA then standard radiotherapy and now is on hormone therapy for some time.
I am sure this will mean more to you than to me.
His main side effect is extreme mood swings which affect his family.
I wish you and the other wives and partners going through this well.
I have had a āfunny turnā.
I felt unwell after a late breakfast so came back yo bed.
I fell asleep almost straight away, if only I could do that at night.
I then had awful unsettling dreams in which I was at the end of life.
I couldnāt see properly and figures came and stood at the side of my bed, they didnāt speak although I was begging them to say who they were.
My bed was about 4 feet off the floor and I was so frightened.
I woke in a terrible state of fear and foreboding.
I promise to keep posting so you know I am still here.
It is very hot again and I am āperspiring ā loads.
Afternoon all.Well yesterday day had its ups and downs.
The urologist did not have scan results, as I thought.DH was told he cannot have an operation for the prostrate any time soon due to the risk of severe bleeding. The only option is to carry on with the catheter. He also found a hernia and he thinks best to be left as again too much of a risk to operate.Heās not very happy at all but better to be safe.I hope we get the scan results soon.
The good news, our GS got 3As and will be going to Bath uni, he is very pleased and of course we are a very proud Yia Yia and Grandad.
Love and good wishes to Soop and Mr Soop and kind thoughts to you all.
Thank you Brook, my BP today is 112/68, this time last week it was 180/100! Normal blood pressure is considered to be between 90/60 and 120/80. Anyway, it seems to be staying steady so fingers crossed.
Itās very warm and sunny here, we had a good walk this morning and Iām being very lazy this afternoon. Iām ignoring the dust the sun is highlighting
? I havenāt forgotten FGT2s #lazygran lessons!
Spanish omelette for later, with a bit of salad.
Have a peaceful afternoon/evening, hugs to all our poorly grans ā„ļø
Hi kitchen pals, itās a bit of a cloudy day here but still very warm
Iām off out to Tesco soon as DD2 and the DGC are coming round to eat tonight, a last minute request and Iām happy to oblige. On the way weāll probably stop off for a coffee at the garden centre, I wonder if weāll come back with something too corner as I think thereās a sale on, like you say you have a get these things when you see them!
Exciting times ahead with the move Aldom, hope all goes smootly. Itāll be very good to be within walking distance of lots of amenities. Sometimes I think about moving as weāre a bit rural here, but at the moment I enjoy my garden too much and wouldnāt want to start again from scratch. Itās a tough decision though
Hoping your BP is behaving again today Blossoming
Thinking of our dearest Soop hoping sheās comfortable and that Mr Soop able to visit as much as possible
I had a giggle too llfl.
Thanks llfl made me chuckle too
Hi kitchen pals, a later visit to the kitchen from me after a busy day. We looked after the DGC until mid afternoon , they didnāt need much looking after really, just keeping them well fed and watered. Once home it was so hot that I went for a nap which is unusual for me and woke up 2 hours later! A bit of a panic then as 1 was running late for my dance class but got there just in time. We had a heavy thunderstorm this evening which has freshened everything up. Chicken salad for dinner, nice and easy
Theyāre looking very fresh and tasty Jax well done
Thank you for your latest update Baggs really appreciated x
Hello kitchen people.
Thanks again for the update Baggs. Iām pleased to hear that Mr Soopās head is so much better.
My thumb may have turned a proverbial corner. Itās still quite sore and Iām taking painkillers, rubbing ibuprofen gel on it and wearing a support. But, the pain is less and there is a longer time between doses of paracetamol.
Have a good rest of the evening and sleep š¤ tight.
Hope the eye injection goes well Cornergran, that sounds like a lovely day out!
Good news blossoming.
Thank you baggs for positive news of mr soop.
Mr C has indeed been in top form thank you jax. We wandered out today and somehow found ourselves in a garden centre where we saw the ideal garden seat for the space where the pergola still is. Just a little bit premature but sometimes these things have to be bought when seen. It has to be built so when delivered it can sit quietly on the patio in its box until it can be installed As my Mum used to say it wonāt eat or drink
.
After a decent lunch we stopped at our nearest NT for a wander. A decent enough day
Tomorrow is an early start for round two of the eye injections. Now I know how it will be Iām not at all worried. The journey is more tedious than the injections. Not as far as the soops for sure so Iām not going to moan.
Hope the ankles have settled a bit grandmab. The location of your hoped for new home sounds ideal aldon. Exciting times ahead.
Itās feet up time here
Rest well everyone.
Good evening dear Kitcheners, I am feeling so much happier now my blood pressure has settled down. I try not to worry about things because itās bad for the BP! At the moment Iām still checking it every morning, then Iāll go back to once a week. Wishing you all a peaceful evening xx
Hurray corner I do hope those meters are still working and Mr C on top form too.
Well done Aldom fingers crossed now!
Thanks Baggs for better news of Mrsoop hoping you are well too.
Not as hot today, but I can feel the humidity ramping up as I sit here.
Gave away lots of tomatoes earlier, they really are prolific this year and small cucumbers.
Spare bedding washed, dried in an instant, watering later.
I hope soop is comfortable.
Hello everyone from a hot Essex. At least itās sunny today and Iāve been sitting in the garden enjoying an ice cream and closing my eyes to the dry and dusty mess that is my garden!
I called round to see some friends whose eldest son had recently passed away. Their two surviving children were there, trying to sort out his hoard of items! Not a job for the faint hearted. The local charity shops will soon be inundated with stuff I think.
I came home and had a little declutter myself, but need to be in the right frame of mind to actually throw stuff out. A couple of bags ready to go to the charity shop anyway. I get quite cross with myself because I find it so hard to get motivated.
Have a pleasant evening Kitcheners, I think itās going to be a warm evening and night!
Good afternoon Kitcheners. A busy day and a hot one. The painter arrived at nine while I was pulling weeds and blethering to my neighbour. I made his bacon roll and drove to the charity shop who only wanted half of my stash. On the way back, I popped into the car wash and impulsively decided to get the car valeted too, so I had to walk home. Without the car, I couldn't go to school today so I did half an hour of Spanish instead. I picked up a gleaming car at two o'clock and put my still swollen ankles up for a while. The painter has finished the living room completely and it looks fab. He's done most of the hall and is busy painting the radiator while I Lazer about. He'll be back to finish the job next wednesday.to Friday. I'll wait til tomorrow to start putting everything back in the living room. Dinner might be a baked potato or spaghetti carbonara, I can't decide. It's warm, breezy and sunny here. Enjoy the rest of your day
