Soop news: soop has been transferred to a Glasgow hospital. A message from this morning said she needed to have a blood transfusion before they could do the nose op but another has arrived just now saying she (along with one of her sons if I understood correctly) spoke to mrsoop this afternoon. She had the nasal op - 'very painful but in good sorts' - and is still having the transfusion. It is hoped she will be returned to Oban hospital on Monday.

There was a photo taken of her on her birthday at Oban will all her nurses and what looked like a birthday cake. It was rather blurred but soop was grinning despite the "packed" nostril.

She is a brave lady.

Thank you Baggs for the latest update. Hoping and praying that Soop's procedure was successful and that she is comfortable now. Poor MrSoop, such a journey to visit his lovely wife. Thinking of them both, sending love and prayers. 💕🙏

Baggs thanks for the update. Poor McSporran he is in no fit state to go running to Glasgow. I hope soop returns soon and is more comfortable. At least she appears to be receiving appropriate treatment and her pain is controlled. She knows there is an army wishing her well.

I’ve had nasal cautery a few times, no problem, packing once - it was horrendous, my thoughts are with the soops.

Thank you for updating us baggs sorry to hear dear soop has yet more medical issues to contend with.

Thinking of her on her birthday even though it’s not the way she would wish to spend it. 💐

After 3 days with our grandchildren we are pooped and relaxing tonight. Spent a couple of days out up on the coast,went to a show, played golf and mini golf and been to 3 play areas. No wonder they didn’t want to go home! It’s been tiring but we’ve made lots of lovely memories.

Wishing soop a a happy Birthday,but I’m sure there must be better ways to spend it. I hope today’s procedure will make her more comfortable. Thank you for the update baggs and for all the updates you are posting. Much appreciated but it must be difficult for you too.

My house is much warmer than my DD1’s house, which is cold in the winter but pleasantly cool in summer!

Thank you for the update Baggs. I had my nose cauterised using local anaesthetic and it wasn’t too bad, hope Soop is not made uncomfortable by the procedure. It should put paid to nose packs (yuck) and nose bleeds.

Soop update: I've had a somewhat hasty message from Herself that she is being taken to a Glasgow hospital by ambulance to have "packs in nose removed and site cauterised under anaesthetic".

Apparently MrSoop will tell me/us more in due course.

This is a very bald message but, not being a medic, I think I had better leave it here without comment from me.
