In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

Yiayia4 fingers crossed šŸ¤ž for the consultant appointment.

Usedtobeblonde Mon 15-Sept-25 16:09:38

Perhaps not what you were hoping for Yia but wait and see what the Consultant has to say.
Just enjoy your holiday in the sun and deal with it when you get back, so difficult I know.
I had a clean bill of health at the Dentist but then had a ā€œfunny turnā€ when he raised the flat couch and I sat up.
The room spun and me with it.
I had to lie back for a few minutes to recover.
Mt GD’s friend had taken me and was in the waiting room so she brought my stick in to me and she held my arm until we got to the car which was only a few yards away.
I must be more careful in future, I do have to sit on the side of the bed when I wake up but I have never felt quite like that.

Yiayia4 Mon 15-Sept-25 15:39:44

Thank you all for your support it means a lot.

Just back and because it’s a fibro scan the result is instant. It seems that the nodules on the liver have grown. The technician said they may do a biopsy if his blood platelets are high enough.Anyway it’s up to the consultant so,we wait and carry on and hope for the best.

hulahoop Mon 15-Sept-25 13:52:37

Hope Soop is now settled .
(((hugs))) to those needing one.

Such an understanding post UTBB šŸ¦‹

TillyTrotter Mon 15-Sept-25 12:29:57

Yiayia šŸ¤ž I don’t pray but wishing your DH well šŸ’

Usedtobeblonde Mon 15-Sept-25 11:58:36

I feel very guilty about being a wimp about the dentist.
So many of you have far, far worse things to face.
I do know just what that is like for both myself and my H.
We both had cancer and I know about scan days and waiting for results.
I am happily still here to tell the tale but my H was so frail from Alzheimer’s and a major stroke that it was decided no treatment for him but let nature decide ,which it did very quickly.
One most enormous blessing was that he never knew his diagnosis.
I send much support and very best wishes to those of you living through these times.
It is so hard.

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Sept-25 11:21:47

I'm thinking of you and your husband *Yiayia.

Redcar Mon 15-Sept-25 11:19:47

Thinking of you and your DH yiayia and hoping that all will be well and you have the results today.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 15-Sept-25 09:41:47

Wow, so pleased for your DD Jaxjacky

Jaxjacky Mon 15-Sept-25 09:15:35

I’ll be thinking of you both Yia and do hope you get the result immediately, waiting is the worst - good luck x

Yiayia4 Mon 15-Sept-25 08:56:08

What a great result for your DD Jax. she must be thrilled.šŸŽ‰

Thank you for your prayers Neine. Today DH is having his repeat fibro scan, usually he is told the result but last time nothing. Our best result would be that there is no change.šŸ¤žšŸ¤žHe is uncomfortable but continues to cope without much help!
Next Tuesday we go to Corfu, something to look forward to especially,as our sons are coming for our second week.DGS1 goes to uni on Saturday.I will miss him so much but hopefully he will enjoy his course,it sounds so interesting with a year of work experience abroad.

Going on a bit, sorry but very anxious this morning.
Have a good day everyone.Thinking of FGTs today.šŸ¤ž

Hope the dentist goes ok for you tomorrow uttb, it’s always good when it’s over
We changed our duvet yesterday from the summer 4.5 to 10.5tog but it’s too warm at the moment so I’ve just ordered an in between 7.5tog online. Hopefully it’ll arrive tomorrow and it’ll be warm enough for now šŸ¤ž
I’ve got most of the same things in a drawer too SueD, including lots of random charging cables that I’ve not got a home for, well done with sorting out all your sideboard though. I agree about Culloden - there was nothing there when we first moved here over 20 years ago - so different now. Enjoy Edinburgh and the rest of your busy week with friends and family

Aldom Sun 14-Sept-25 22:16:29

Jax such good news of your daughter's win. So pleased for you.

Jaxjacky Sun 14-Sept-25 21:53:50

Thanks all, as a SP she copes so well.
Sorry you’ve not felt your best UTBB I hope the dental visit is fine, but I do understand x
My side of our bad has the electric blanket on ready for me, im a chilly mortal, MrJ has had his side on once in about 10 years of having one.

SueDonim Sun 14-Sept-25 21:44:26

That’s just splendid news, Jax. What a lovely thing.
Good luck at the dentist, UTBB. I have the hygienist this week which is worse than the dentist, imo! šŸ‘€
Neine, I am so touched at being in your prayers today, thank you. ā¤ļø
I hope you’re recovering ok, GMdinosaur.
Brook my first visit to Culloden was many years ago. Back then it was just a windswept field, really, no visitor facilities at all. We went again three or four years ago and whilst the visitor centre is impressive and the interpretation is excellent I felt it had lost the eerie atmosphere it had 40 years ago. It’s too curated and tidy for me now!

Like many on here, we have rather rainy weather tonight. I’m about to have a bath to warm myself up. I’ve spent some time this weekend decluttering a sideboard in the kitchen. Some of the stuff in there is just baffling. I swear there was a random screw and/or washer in every drawer, old coins, elastic bands, a biro that doesn’t work, handbooks for items we no longer possess, old phones and enough charging cables to reach to the moon and back. Where does it all come from?? Even more pleasingly, dh has done a bit of decuttering of his stuff, too!

A busy week ahead, a trip to Edinburgh tomorrow, another to meet up with friends on Tuesday, a bit of child care and then my dd2 arrived on Friday. Dh and I are enjoying this respite from endless medical appointments, even though we’re a bit less inclined to go out now it’s colder.

Take care everyone, TOYA. Xxx

Usedtobeblonde Sun 14-Sept-25 21:43:32

I have had my 10:5 tog on for a week now and most nights it’s been thrown off.
It may come into its own tonight as it is cooler and we had heating on in the conservatory where we eat now.

Redcar Sun 14-Sept-25 21:16:49

utbb I hope the dentist goes well tomorrow and that your teeth stay put for a long while to come!

September seems really early for the heating to come on brook! I did put the 7 tog duvet on the bed yesterday, but still needed a fleece blanket on top of it last night. Not quite cold enough for a hot water bottle though!

Usedtobeblonde Sun 14-Sept-25 21:03:18

Blunder there, I don’t know how, should say I have a dental appointment, the gremlins crept in.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 14-Sept-25 21:01:08

So happy to read your news Jaxjacky how lovely for your D.
I hope it makes an impact for good in her life.
A quiet day for me, I haven’t felt well for a few days, old age is catching up fast.
My GD and her BF have looked after me well, cooking a nice meal both nights.
I haven’t managed to eat it all but have appreciated what I have had.
I haven’t managed to a dental check up tomorrow, in spite of the years I have done this I still face it with dread, what if he says all my teeth must come out.
So unreasonable I know but there it is.
Kindest thoughts to you all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 14-Sept-25 20:56:43

Huge congrats to your daughter Jax such an amazing win! Well deserved too within your family as you are staunch supporters of your ā€˜local’. Delighted for her!

brook2704 Sun 14-Sept-25 20:48:56

Brilliant news Jax I’m so very pleased for your daughter, it’s very well deserved I’m sure - that’s really made me happy! 😃

Our heating has been on today redcar first time for ages though 🄶

Grandmadinosaur Sun 14-Sept-25 20:45:06

Yes I’m feeling better thank you redcar started my meds today and so far so good.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 14-Sept-25 20:42:58

Wow Jaxjacky well done to your daughter. That’s a significant win enough to make a difference in whichever way she chooses.

We had a little win of a kind today. I don’t know if anyone knows or uses the Good to go app. It’s where shops, restaurants etc sell off things cheaply at the end of the day. DH has the app and yesterday a local pub was selling a carvery bag today for Ā£4. As he’s caring for me at the moment we thought we’d give it a try. Well it was excellent value a decent sized plate each and only 2 plates to wash up. As they say winner winner chicken dinner!

Redcar Sun 14-Sept-25 20:12:18

jaxjacky how absolutely brilliant for your DD! What a lovely surprise for you all.
grandmadinosaur I hope you’re feeling better, how fortunate that the dvt was diagnosed quickly.
neine I’m pleased you enjoyed your trip to Costco! I’ve always wanted to try dirty fries but haven’t (yet) due to having high cholesterol and I think they may be addictive! Good you had fun in the arcade, and found someone who knew what to do with your winnings!
nannytopsy;I hope you find a vineyard or two that will let you have a taste! Enjoy your holiday.
grandmabatty I hope your new sofas have arrived and that you’re enjoying the comfort.

A foul evening here, wet and windy. The house has cooled down very quickly today, it was 23 upstairs this morning, but now it’s only 20. I wonder if the heating will come on tomorrow morning.
I had my usual catchup with an old friend who lives in Kent, unfortunately she’s not a happy person, which drags me down too.
Thoughts to all those in the quiet corner. Fingers crossed for hopeful results for those with doctors or hospital visits tomorrow.
Night night everyone.
