In *soopās absence Iāve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterdayās quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, Iāve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With š¹to soop and others struggling.
Oh Baggs such devastating news. Sending love and strength to dearest Soop.
Oh Baggs very sad and worrying news, sending dear soop love, hugs and prayers š
I have very sad news from the soops. Soop is in hospital. She was admitted to A&E because her doctor was concerned about high calcium levels in her blood. Tests reveal that she has cancer in her spine and pelvis and a blood clot on her lung. MrSoop is to be taken to the hospital by a friend tomorrow.
Soop sends love as I'm sure you all will to her.
Hi kitchen pals, itās been another gorgeous warm sunny day here until about an hour ago when some light rain arrived - DH is pleased as itāll save him a job tomorrow. Heād put some weed and feed on the grass that would have needed watering in if it hadnāt rained
Youāve been busy again gramdmabatty rest up tonight and hope your feet feel better soon
Iāve enjoyed a busy day, the gym for a couple of classes and chatting with the friendly ladies there. Easy quiche and salad tonight with a few cheeky chips on the side as I was hungry!
Unnerving GG Iām always spooked by things like that
Missing seeing of Soop here but hope theyāre both doing ok, hugs to all in the quiet corner x
Good evening Kitcheners. It's been a busy few days. Grannmarie it's taken me years to get things done! The man came to measure up the windows for new blinds this morning, so another task done. I got a washing done and hung out too and it's dried well. Not ironed yet though. I have weeded in the front garden and also the drive and path. The house got a hoover too. So I feel quite virtuous. Grannygravy that gives me the chills too. I would ask her not to tell me anymore.
The boys and I had fun yesterday. I took them to soft play in the morning where they ran about for two hours. Then in the afternoon, we went to a green space at the end of my estate. Dgs1 played football while dgs2 collected leaves, cones, feathers and conkers. We took a bagful back and they painted some cones.
Tonight I'm lying on the couch because my feet are sore and I've run out of paracetamol.. So annoying. I hope you have a good evening Kitcheners
I had a lovely meal and catch up with my friend last night.
Towards the end, she said she had a feeling that something awful was going to happen fairly soon. Knowing she has been right many times before, I asked her what did she think was going to happen.
She went on to say that she felt an enormous earthquake coming from under the water, not near the U.K.
I felt chills when I woke up to the news of the earthquake off of the Russian coast this morning.
I havenāt been able to shift my mood all day, before her visions have been of plane crashes, I often check with her before I fly.
Hello kitchen people. Itās very quiet in here today. I hope everyone is well - thinking especially of the FGT2S and the Soops.
I had a good hair cut today. Next time Iām having the roots done. Iām still not ready to embrace the grey. I also picked up my Wild Boar print from the framers. It looks brilliant on my bedroom wall. Iāve had to rest another picture to make room for it.
After lunch I helped OH jar over 50 jars of honey. It is delicious. Some will be for friends and relatives and the rest we will sell.
We are both worn to a frazzle so I have booked dinner at one of our favourite restaurants.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people, what a super comfy new kitchen! Thanks very much for opening up, Jaxjacky, sorry I've been AWOL.
I'm delighted for the FGTs, wonderful to hear that Himself is home! I'm thinking of you both, sending love and prayers. šš
I'm sorry to read of so many lovely Kitchen folk having hard times just now, hoping and praying that things improve soon. Much love to the Soops, SueD and family, YiaYia and DH, Blossoming and all who are suffering in mind, body and/or spirit.
Cornergran, I hope you get a good sleep tonight.
Brook, the line dancing class sounds like fun! Do you do The House of Bamboo dance?
Grannygravy, enjoy your dinner with your dear friend. Belated birthday wishes!ššš·š„³
Hope Grandmabatty had a good day with her wee boys. They do miss their wee pals during the holidays but at least they've got each other to play with/ annoy!š¤£
Jaxjacky, your dinner sounds delicious. I've got roast chicken in the oven, it should have been in at 4pm but I fell asleep š“, story of my life.. I woke up in time for House of Games, so I'll be dining late tonight.
Hello š GrandmaC47, nice to see you. I hope you're doing OK.
I'm so envious of Redcar, Hulahoop, Grandmabatty and all Grans getting lots of things done around the house, decorating, new blinds and furniture... I'm afraid my house is a bit neglected these days, must try harder!!
We had a wonderful weekend of celebrations - ceilidh, brunch and dinner - for DSis2's big birthday. It was great to see all the family gathering for such a happy occasion. It did my heart good to see my sons, partners and grandchildren dancing and enjoying the evening with cousins, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends. Just felt so sad that DH wasn't there, but I'm so thankful for all our family.
This morning my sisters and I enjoyed the Aquafit class, it was very busy. DSis2 now has her 'ActiveAge' pass for the L.A. leisure centres, along with her bus pass!
Wishing everyone a peaceful Tuesday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA.
Thank you Jax Iāll give it a go š
blossoming I know itās not ideal but when I was sitting in the minor injuries unit a little while ago people were coming and saying they couldnāt get an appointment at the GP and had things like ITIs, sore throats etc. Nobody seemed to be turned away. The pharmacy can now give prescriptions for uti, but seem to be reluctant with over 75s. Good luck hope you get somewhere
Very brook I just gently cooked some chopped onion, then garlic in olive oil, added chicken breasts plus thyme/bay leaf from the garden, seasoned, about a cup of red wine then into the slow cooker for 3 hours on high. You can thicken with cornflour, mash or new potatoes, veg of your choice.
Slow cooker chicken in red wine, herbs and garlic sounds great Jax, is it easy to do ? Iām trying to think of a few new things to make when DD1 comes to visit next week, sheās such a good cook š„“
And GG13 I will be 71y next month dear pen pal ā¦.
Just saying. š
Oh Blossomng how awful for you, I agree with GG, I think you should get back in touch and say youāre in pain and canāt wait another week, that doesnāt seem right
Yia good that you had some reassurance from the doctor today, hope things are much better soon
Itās been a lovely sunny warm afternoon here, after line dancing at the gym I walked back into town by the River Ness - a gorgeous walk and even better in the sunshine. Bus home, the driver was new and almost went straight past my stop, didnāt know it was there apparently! DH had a cup of tea waiting and we sat in the garden for a while.
Gentle hugs to Soop and all in need of some TLC, take care all x
I am being taken out to dinner by a very dear friend. We have been friends and virtually inseparable for 45 years. No idea where we are going š¤·āāļø
We donāt buy gifts anymore, we do something together, so this is for my birthday last week.
I need to put my thinking cap on as she is 70 this year, and I will need to do something very special, for a special lady.
Night night šāāļø
Not acceptable Blossoming try as GG13 suggested, if not practice manager, you are the patient and know your body.
Yia he sounds a very pleasant gentleman, good,
A pretty laid back day, itās drizzled on and off, Iāve ignored housework and washing, just caught up with MrJ and our weekends, plus a long phone call with a very good friend.
Iām about to order Imogen some very expensive (to me) netball trainers for her 18th in a few weeks, itās what she has asked for.
Slow cooker is on, chicken in red wine with herbs and garlic, not a true con au vin, but itāll do.
Big hugs to those not having the best time x
Hello everyone.Iām sorry posted in the wrong thread yesterday but thank you everyone who commented,I just need to get my brain into gear.
Iāve seen my rheumatologist this afternoon and and he was very reassuring (re the osteopenia)Iāve been going to him for a long time for my psoriatic arthritis and he explains everything very well.Life is hard at the moment for a lot of us but hopefully it will improve.
Hope you get some sleep Cornergran
Sorry your feeling poorly Blossomingš
Kind thoughts to all.
Blossoming I think you should ring the surgery back and let them know that you are in pain and discomfort šø
blossoming how awful that you have to wait another week before you are seen again.
yiayia Iām sorry you are feeling so miserable, I do hope that the treatment you are receiving will help you. I hope your DH continues to feel better.
I had some new blinds fitted this morning, meaning I had to move a lot of stuff dumped in the way. Iām going to bite the bullet and get rid of some of it, itās mostly stuff I no longer need or use, but am keeping for sentimental reasons.
My next door neighbour called this afternoon, they are away for a number of weeks and Iāll be on garden watering duties when necessary. I hope their runner beams start producing soon!
Iām at DD1s for the next week, looking after the dog,but will pop back home to check on the progress of my tomatoes, one is orange so far! Good thing they only live a few miles away.
Thoughts for those in the quiet corner.
Blossomingšitās awful you have to wait another week in pain.Could you ask for a referral to urology and in the meantime be given a prophylactic antibiotic?
TOYA, I really am but am worried about leaving anyone out so havenāt mentioned people by name although soop has been on my mind todayš
Ouch blossoming. A week ahead does seem a very long while.
Fgt you will be fine you are a strong lady ,food and a cuddle is the way to go.
Blossoming urine infections are very wearing hope it gets sorted soon.
Hard luck Jax bet the laughs make up for losing and you didn't come last.
Sending healing thoughts to those needing them .we are deciding what colour to pick for floor now painting finished.
Blossoming a hug for you
Feeling fed up, UTI test results are āinconclusiveā and they may want to retest. Someone is going to call me next Wednesday. Thatās a week tomorrow! So in the meantime I have a pain in my belly and canāt stop weeing! I despair, I rarely do. Moan over, I shall crawl back into the quiet corner and Iām not coming out until this is sorted.
