In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

I’ve just seen your news Baggs and I’m delighted the soops are together again, nearer home and enjoying not only each other’s company but competitively playing a game of Scrabble. It’s a lovely comforting thought this Saturday evening after all their recent stress.

Sending warmest thoughts and wishes to them both. flowers

How lovely that soop is so much nearer home now, I hope Mr S will be able to visit her without too much difficulty. Hopefully maybe some local friends as well.

Thank you Baggs for keeping us all up to date with her news.

That’s wonderful news Baggs!

Baggs Sat 06-Sept-25 16:29:47

Soop news: soop is comfortably ensconced at Campbelltown and MrSoop arrived early this afternoon bearing Scrabble for them to play together.

Usedtobeblonde Sat 06-Sept-25 15:45:36

They may be taking them off, they are losing 2-0.

Usedtobeblonde Sat 06-Sept-25 15:42:29

brook my GD just sent me a photo of them on the way to the match, proudly wearing their Stockport County shirts.
They are particularly impressed by the fact that the team are staying in the same hotel.

Hoping you’re on the way home now grandmadinosaur and feeling much better soon, take it easy for a while if you can
Hoping your granddaughter and her boyfriend enjoy their meal and night away Uttb, such a kind gesture for you to treat them
I’m having a lazy day as per Jax’s orders and grandmabatty too, I just popped out this morning, did the holiday washing and a bit of gardening, nothing much! DS facetimed this morning, it’s usually on a Sunday but he’s out tomorrow. Him and his partner have very kindly invited us to visit them in Basel again so I’ll be looking at flight options later. We won’t be going until next year but as they’re both so very busy with their jobs we need to plan well in advance!
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, hope Soop is nearer home now and take care all x

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Sept-25 11:02:42

grandmadinosaur I hope you’re feeling more comfortable this morning after some sleep, and that you are able to go home today.
I hope that soop is back in her local hospital and able to have more frequent visits from her DH.

Jaxjacky Sat 06-Sept-25 10:40:48

My very best wishes for a speedy recovery Grandmadinosaur 💐

Grandmabatty Sat 06-Sept-25 10:26:32

grandma dinosaur a speedy recovery for you. Don't overdo things though

Usedtobeblonde Sat 06-Sept-25 07:02:17

An early Good morning.
Commiserations Grandmadinosaur I hope you get home today and soon feel more comfortable.
The same good wishes go to soop in that she is nearer home by now with plans afoot to get home with good care planned.
I am up unusually early because my GD and her BF have left early to drive to Plymouth , a long drive from here but he is a dedicated football fan and goes to as many matches of his team as he can.
He would normally not have gone so far but I persuaded them to make a break of it and stay overnight in a good hotel , one which my H and I stayed at many years ago
I have paid for a meal in the hotel tonight which is a Marco Pierre White restaurant.
They do so much for me and I thought I would treat them to a new experience.
I have had a decent night , I changed my bedding yesterday to a warmer quilt and a warmer bottom sheet.
The Night Lark summer quilt is washed and ready to pack away.
The new quilt is also a Night Lark, the ease of bed changing is fantastic.
Tea in bed now and best wishes for a decent day for you all.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 06-Sept-25 01:03:32

Hi everyone from the quiet corner.

Well it’s actually my hospital bed. I had planned surgery on Wednesday and am awake at this hour. I’m not in pain just uncomfortable with a band on my stomach that seems to push innards up feeling like I’ve got indegestion. I feel so very tired too. Can’t complain there are a couple of ladies on this ward much worse off than me and so brave. I’m probably going home later today.

Sending best wishes to all suffering and families etc 💐

Hi all and thanks for- car serviced and MOT’d, I’ll need two new tyres before Christmas. Shingles jab also done, slightly achy, I took paracetamol before I went and will keep it up this evening.
MrJ is at his bowls AGM, I’m having a salad of sorts, he had a sandwich earlier, I expect we’ll survive without a hot meal 🙂
Knitting and I didn’t gel Grannmarie good luck with yours, I bet you’ll be fine a seasoned knitter as yourself.
A gentle weekend brook, recoup your energy and indulge - that be orders!
I hope soop is settled nearer home and all of those struggling utbb amongst them, are having a better day.

Grandmabatty Fri 05-Sept-25 16:15:01

Good afternoon Kitcheners. Brook a wee rest would do you good. Grannmarie well done on knitting. I have loads of good intentions regarding knitting but I never finish anything
Today I have been awake since five o'clock. No reason, I just couldn't get back to sleep. I did an hour's tidying in the school library which always makes me feel better. I had a chat with the depute about future plans. Then home to tidy up. I've emptied and loaded the dishwasher and hoovered. Then cleared all the window sills ready for the blind man. Blinds have been replaced and I'm very happy with them. I spent time putting out all the packaging and the old blinds. Now I'm taking it easy and watching tv for a while before making dinner. Cheese omelette and chips, if I have enough eggs. I just have the new suite to come and that'll happen next Sunday. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.
