Fgt great news. Hope himself is home soon. Take care

Thank you Marydoll. I had read and understood The Weirdo’s post and my response was neither hasty nor unkind. The misuse of disabled facilities doesn’t just make life awkward, it makes it impossible for those of us who need them.

Marydoll Wed 23-Jul-25 16:23:06

w1u7, thank you for taking the time to come back to respond.

I am sure you didn't mean to offend, but the comment about Blossoming being unkind, upset me and I am sure it upset her too.
She is a very kind poster, who has always supported me, despite her own chronic health problems.

I can understand why Blossoming felt the need to comment. The misuse of disabled bays and toilets really annoys me. I couldn't get parked at the hospital (at the top of a very steep hill) last week, many of the selfish and entitled users of disabled bays, were not displaying a blue badge.
I was pleased to see parking tickets on their cars, when I came out of my appointment.

The Weirdo admitted that she is not disabled, but seemed quite proud of the fact that she had a radar key, just for her own convenience. Why would anyone think that was acceptable?

w1u7 Wed 23-Jul-25 16:01:37

Marydoll I think you are wonderful. I don't know how you cope so well with your terrible health problems. I simply said that perhaps
Blossoming was a hasty in her comment. No offence meant.

Good news fgt, I hope that Himself has turned the corner now and is able eat a little more, to build him up for the chemo.

Blossoming Wed 23-Jul-25 15:30:38

Physio appointments are as rare as hen’s teeth Taichinan and I know what you mean about painkillers. I hope you get some relief soon x

Taichinan Wed 23-Jul-25 15:15:29

FGT that's wonderful news for Himself. You're both so wonderful in the way you are coping 😍
I'm trying to have it checked out Jax and Blossoming but obviously it's 'no big deal' to the medics here. The receptionist had suggested she try to get me a physio appointment. Sometime. Somewhere. Maybe. If I can find a painkiller that will allow me to have a night's sleep. The one the pharmacist recommended knocked me for six - I was falling asleep all over the place! But that's not a night's sleep. Anyway, that would appear to be the way things are going these days - the young receptionist does the initial triage 🤷. And then doesn't phone back when she says she will!

FGT2, excellent news! xx

That was unkind Blossoming. The lady may have bladder issues .

The poster herself said she was not disabled. This is what she said:
Even though I'm not disabled, I have a RADAR Key for when the non-disabled loos are closed for breakages/blockages.

FYI, wlu7n Blossoming is one of the kindest posters on Gransnet.

Isn’t it lovely when people get good news. I don’t know you all yet but I’m glad for you.
We didn’t win the auction. The etching went for well above what we offered. It would have needed a new frame and mount as the mount was foxed. Here in Wales it is quite difficult to find a good framer. There is one in the local market, but we have been there five times and he has never been open.
Still we shall keep on looking for a similar piece of art.

Blossoming Wed 23-Jul-25 12:28:51

Good to see you posting Taichinan but sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. I agree with Jax, you should get it checked out x

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 23-Jul-25 12:25:37

Good to hear your news FGTS! 🪻

Blossoming Wed 23-Jul-25 12:22:12

Your sin was in having the radar key and using the disabled toilet in the first place. They’re for disabled people. The clue is in the name.

TheWeirdoAgain60 Wed 23-Jul-25 12:02:37

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

I had a massive fright yesterday! Even though I'm not disabled, I have a RADAR Key for when the non-disabled loos are closed for breakages/blockages, whatever. I came out of the Disabled loo yesterday and, as always, went to lock it, as I should, but just as I opened the door, there was a HUGE 8-legged thing clinging to the door! I screamed, and a woman walking past gave me a weird look!

I know I should have closed and locked it, but this time I couldn't, I just ran off! So that is my sinful confession for the day!

Last night was an epic struggle! I live alone, so my bed is just a single. However, I'm trying to put on another duvet cover and pillowcases while my regular ones are in the washing machine and wham bam no thank you ma'am!

It took me about 1/2 hour to shove the cover on and wrestle with the pillows to get them in, and the duvet was lumpy under the cover when I finally got under! I dread to think how I'd manage if it were a Double or King-sized!

Lovely news FGT. Himself sounds in good spirits.

Good morning all.

What great news FGT2 relief all round. Wishing your DH all the best and bet you can’t wait to have him home. 💐

Good to hear from you Taichinan but your pain sounds most debilitating, have you had it checked out?
What a fabulous picture - thank you

Taichinan Wed 23-Jul-25 11:03:43

Good morning all, and apologies for not having posted for a while. Sometimes, while trying to find something interesting to say I find it depressing to discover just how little of interest I can find!
Anyway, it's so lovely to see Madeleine back posting. Wishing you all the best for your op on Tuesday Madeleine and I hope it's not long until you're back posting afterwards
Lovely to hear Mick's and Ash's health reports this morning - you'll both be feeling as if you're walking on air now!
I'm struggling with awful pain in my shoulders and wrists just now which came on quite literally overnight about three weeks ago. It's so restricting in every way (try pulling on pants 🩳 and 👖 😉) but most of all it is a great sleep thief! At the moment I'm celebrating the longest period of sleep last night - from 3-7am- that I have had since it began. Some nights it has been none at all, and that's so debilitating. The accompanying photo shows it has its advantages though. The photo was taken from my bed on 11 July at about 2am - I would have hated to miss that, particularly as we haven't had a cloudless night sky since!
Anyway, must away and tackle some much-needed housework and then get out for some equally much-needed groceries. I've been very much off my food so the larder hasn't depleted as speedily as it usually does. What I really fancy is fish, but our fishmonger is closed for its annual two week holiday. As I only like my fish 'straight off the boat' I shall have to hold that thought for now.
Enjoy your day everyone x
