Morning from high cloud in S Hants, due to be warm, yesterday was dull until about 5 when the sun appeared.
Dropping MrJ at the local airport later, he’s off to Belfast, family golf weekend. On the way back I’ll call in the village butcher, they have an offer on for a meat pack, I’ve put my name down and will collect.
Pub this evening, they have a cider and sausage weekend starting tomorrow, tonight I’ll just catch up with people.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and dry and cloudy. Yesterday was a beautiful warm day.. Grandmother your meal sounds lovely. Kalu how annoying for you. Dd is getting their garden made over and it's been put off for weeks now.
Yesterday I was at the chiropodist early, had my feet sorted and back home. I had a washing out too. Dd and dgs2 came round for a coffee and a blether. After they left, I weeded in the front garden which badly needs it. Because I was unable to bend after cataract surgery, the weeds took firm hold. My neighbour handed in potatoes from her allotment and we had a chat.
Today I might head to Tesco to stock the fridge and do some more weeding. I'll iron the washing from yesterday too. I have messages to send to organise new blinds, painting etc. but I keep putting it off. Have a good day all

Good morning all and it’s bright but cool here in Essex. Lovely!

Today we are travelling to our seaside abode and are being joined by various family members for the weekend.
It should be fun . 10 of us altogether as the older teens are busy elsewhere.

I hope you all have a nice day and a good weekend. 🌼

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk which is most welcome after the rain and chill of yesterday.

We are hunkering down til Monday as it is the Latitude festival close by and the traffic yesterday was dreadful. We felt very sorry for those travelling to the site having endless waits on traffic clogged lanes and minor roads and then having to put tents up in the rain. It is a family festival so many young children would be going. At least the forecast for the weekend is ok.

I think that those planning the recommended route have no idea of what the roads are like around here. Rather than letting people find their own way all are marshalled into one way and signs abound saying ‘No access to Latitude’ which is incorrect.

Moan over! Hope all have a good day especially those unwell or with worries.

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather cloudy Carlisle.
Yesterday turned out hot and sunny in the end. After various little jobs inside and a Tesco delivery, I worked in the garden for a while, feeding, weeding and cutting back.
I too smell autumn karma, those orb weaving spiders have appeared earlier this year, it's hard to move about with destroying a web. My garden is an arachnophobe's nightmare!
I had to go in after an hour or so, I was getting so hot and sweaty.
Today I have to go into town to collect a prescription and run various errands then that's that for the day, I plan to read and quite probably doze, I had a disturbed night's sleep due to acid indigestion.

Have the best possible day everybody.

Good morning from a fairly bright Stockport.
The forecast is decent for the weekend which pleases me as my GD and her BF are going to Anglesey for the weekend.
Although it is not long since they were on holiday , she is ready for it as she is having a torrid time at work at the moment and the break will take her mind off it temporarily.
My D is having a long weekend in London to celebrate her 60th birthday which was a couple of weeks ago, one friend went to Lourdes in the early hours, another is visiting her D in S Wales so I am stayathome Sally.
I really don’t mind as home is my favourite place now.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a bright N. Bucks.
Hopefully I’ll do the garden pottering that I couldn’t do yesterday due to it drizzling most of the day.
The nurse was very pleased with my BP, foot condition and weight loss yesterday. Will get blood results in a week or so.
DD1 has a hospital appointment midday so hoping that goes well.
We shall pop up to DD3s later to deliver her birthday card and gift . Her birthday is not until next week but they are going camping tomorrow for a week.
Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, will be warmer today.
Yesterday was grey and cool. Didn't do a lot but had a walk to the post office to return an Amazon parcel; Alexa had a message for me when I got home to say my refund had been issued - the wonders of modern technology! Really sore eyes when I got back, stinging and burning, must be hay fever again,.but it wore off after an hour or so. My Sainsbury's delivery came on time so I was able to make a delicious sausage tray bake for dinner.

Had an email with my last batch of tickets for the Women's Rugby World Cup next month; I am going to six matches, all at my local familiar Northampton Saints stadium. I shall be printing them off.

Shall have a late brunch this morning, as I am going to a funeral early afternoon; someone I have known since I taught her son in the early 1970s. She was also a fellow wine in our ladies' wine club, so there will be many a glass raised to her today! Her death in hospital was unexpected and a shock all round. DD will also be going (and will pick me up) as she also knew her through the wine club.

Before I go I need to get a curry in the slow.cooker.for tonight's dinner.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

BlueSapphire Fri 25-Jul-25 08:29:25

Fat fingers, missed out a word! Should be wine lover!

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 25-Jul-25 08:34:21

Morning all from a humid West Oxfordshire.

We enjoyed our theatre trip yesterday. A Winters Tale at the RSC in Stratford. As always the range of acting ability was wide! However, Bertie Carvel as King Leontes was superb. When he spoke his lines we knew what he was saying - and we could hear him. A good day.

Today I am out at the Art Society lecture, collecting one of my framed pictures and having a pedicure and chin wax.

OH is out with his target shooting club all day.

Have a good day. I’m thinking of FGT as she prepares for her OH’s return. 🪻

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Unfortunately I was unable to sleep at all last night so watched a whole series on Netflix to occupy the time.
Yesterday I walked to my local supermarket, could only buy a few basics because I can not carry heavy bags but it was an outing. My friend had to cancel as she is having several health investigations.
Could have done with some help last night, the attic hatch fell down with ladder attached, it is in my bedroom.
Nothing planned for today, I am guessing my sister will be getting in touch to tell me all about her holiday.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

A quiet day planned. I’m enjoying a cup of tea in bed before getting up and taking a shower. UTI test sample to be dropped off. MrB and I will be enjoying our usual walk down to the Dock gates.

A warm welcome to any new posters I may have missed.

Thinking of our poorly Grans and families, as always.

Have the best day you can everyone 🌹

Good Morning from Newcastle. It’s a glorious morning here and I’m at DD2’s waiting for our taxi to the airport.
I’ll be glad when we’re airborne, given the ‘frequent’ assistance issues.
Lovely afternoon with DGS1 yesterday. I took him to the zoo and we both enjoyed it, even though my favourite snow leopards were asleep.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is currently 16 °C and quite dull.

Ash, my DH is very messy, it is my house and I cannot bear untidiness! I try to clear up, all to no avail.
As soon as I have wiped down the worktops, I can guarantee, that he will be at my tail, leaving a trail of mess in his wake, after making a coffee. and he drinks gallons of it. 🤬
He never tidies up after himself.
Yesterday, I counted three sweaters on the back of a dining room chair. He cannot understand, why I get so annoyed.

Yet another restless night, I woke at 5am wide awake, took some pain relief and dozed off until half an hour ago.
Yesterday was hard going, , not helped by the blinding headache.
BabyD hadn't slept and was one cross baby, as were her mummy and daddy, due to lack of sleep.
She is a clone of her daddy, who never slept mucjh either, until he went to school.
I had a déjà vu moment, when, determined to be independant, she tumbled down the stairs to the garden.
There was a never to be forgotten incident, when her daddy, at three years old, fearlessly, rode a bike down stairs at my mother's. He looked as if he had been in a car crash! 😱
Initially, she wasn't keen on the bear hunt, believing there actually was a bear, until I explained the bear was sleeping in his house..it didn't help that she was stung by nettles and no Ddock leaf to be found, 😌
The three of us had large sticks and had to explain to every dog walker we met, what we were doing,🤣
I had to bribe her with chocolate buttons to put on her new puddle suit. She thought it was her old one and remembered it was too tight. She has the memory of an elephant.
For most of the day, she was very clingy, I couldn't prepare dinner, she insisted on assisting.. I'm sure you can imagine the mess!

Today, I will do just a small supermarket shop and try and use up, what is the the cramned freezer. I have absolutely no idea what is in it!
I may add lemons to the list.😉
A carpet shampooer, will be delivered. I am keeping that info to myself, because the family kept borrowing the previous one, never cleaned it and someone eventually broke it.

Finally, I have my long awaited ear microsuction appointment. I am trying not to raise my hopes, then I won't be disappointed! If it doesn't help, I shall need a referral, otherwise there may be a divorce in this house, DH has a very short memory (forgetting his own recent hearing problems and my efforts and patience resolving it) and has absolutely no patience with me, when I can't hear hear his ^ mumbling.^. 😌

Best wishes to all, who are struggling, have the best day possible.

Marydoll Fri 25-Jul-25 08:56:50

The bear hunt.

grandMattie Fri 25-Jul-25 08:58:22

I so hope the “ acuuming” of your ears is successful, MD. 🍀

merlotgran Fri 25-Jul-25 09:03:43

Good morning from a cloudy south coast. No rain forecasted unfortunately.
Yesterday’s lunch at a seafood restaurant was lovely. We sat outside, sipping cocktails and admiring the boats in the marina. Goodness knows what they must be worth! We can dream. 😔
Housework and gardening today.
Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Blossoming Fri 25-Jul-25 09:25:29

Love the photo Marydoll, hope the ear appointment helps. MrB is very deaf in one ear and used to complain I spoke too quietly, though strangely he would always hear me whisper “Deaf old git”!

RosieandherMaw Fri 25-Jul-25 09:54:54

A late good morning from sunny N Bucks
Paw and I were married 55 years ago today in the University Chapel, St Andrews in a Fife hoolie.
He saw our 47th anniversary but no more..
My bridesmaids (sisters in law) will be ringing me today but sadly there is nobody else left who remembers that day.
But I do though 😍😍
Wishing you all a pleasant day, relief and respite for those who need it and comfort for those with their memories

hollysteers Fri 25-Jul-25 09:59:25

Good morning from a now dull northwest coast. The sun has taken his hat off…
DD arrived from the south late afternoon and we had a chicken casserole before she popped out for a friend’s birthday. She has enviable energy, having flown long haul the day before.
I carried on watching Outrageous which I’m getting into and my U channel reappeared after mysteriously disappearing.

I’m going to tidy the spare bedroom as DGD is arriving on Monday and I’m using it as a dressing room, clothes everywhere.
Don’t mention autumn Mizuna, I love this weather!
Thoughts to the FGTs and all🌺

hollysteers Fri 25-Jul-25 10:00:59

Thinking of you too Rosie, your late DH has a look of my late DH😢💕

RosieandherMaw Fri 25-Jul-25 11:04:58

We clearly enjoyed the same good taste 😍😍
