Good morning from yet again an overcast Stockport.
It seems many day since we saw the sun.
My GC, not really children, in their 20’s , were affected by the problems at Gatwick yesterday, they were flying to Guernsey, my D dropped them off and they had cleared security when the announcement was made.
Fortunately for them they were only delayed by an hour or so to their amazement, as initially it seemed chaotic.
I am visiting a friend this afternoon, mean of me to say it is a duty visit and not a pleasure.
Have a decent day everyone.
I think the FGT2S may have a hospital appointment today. I hope all goes well.
Morning all from a cloudy south coast where light rain is due any time soon. I’ll have to remember my brolly when I go to the hairdresser later this morning. Waitrose is opposite so I’ll have a quick browse as I use their car park and feel a bit guilty if I use the shop as a short cut without buying anything.
I need a mirror for the spare room so I’ll have a Quick Look in the two charity shops en route to The Range. I bet I come out with something but probably not a mirror!
Hope everyone has the best day possible
Thinking of the soops.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cloudy start to the day
Yesterday afternoon was lovely sunny and warm, after the gym I enjoyed a walk with DH then pottered in the garden for a while
Sounds like you had a lovely few days away with the family Gingster hope batteries are fully recharged!
Enjoy the show tonight Sar53 and safe travels tomorrow
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning everyone from a cool and damp Northampton; I had planned on washing the towels this morning but shall wait and see how the weather turns out.
Busy morning yesterday, packing some of my cooked chicken for the freezer, and preparing a Bolognese for the slow cooker. An early lunch then out to book club, the highlight of.which as usual was the fresh cream Victoria sandwich!
The Bolognese for dinner was delicious with some penne and a sprinkling of cheese, unfortunately not Parmesan as the cupboard was bare in that department, but extra mature Cheddar. There are another 5 portions of Bolognese waiting to go in the freezer!
Sweet chilli chicken and Bombay potatoes for dinner tonight, yummy!
No plans for anything today except a Waitrose.delivery this afternoon. Oh, forgot I need to clean the bathrooms!
Wishing everyone a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire. A flying visit to let you know I am seeing my doctor this morning so hopefully better news by tomorrow.
Hairdresser due soon but no other plans for the day. Might tidy an overflowing cupboard but again might retreat into fiction - I know it’s not August but it feels like it. Am impressed as ever by the efforts of Karmalady and the tribulations of Marydoll and the general busyness of so many.
Good Morning from Durham. Bright and breezy here.
We managed to get home with only a couple of hours delay yesterday - the radar failure had just been announced and we were plane 2 in the queue, so got the go/ahead to take off. Lucky us.
New York in 39degrees was exhausting!
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all. A dry day for Glasgow today and the sun has just appeared. It looks promising🤞
A peaceful start to the day as, at last the garden work is finished.
I have a dental appointment at 9.00 to extract the loose tooth. Despite my best efforts to DIY, it won’t budge and is too painful to persist. As a dry day is forecast the washing machine is filled and ready to go, I will hang out the clothes on my return. Pottering around in the garden for a while then hairdressers this afternoon.
Best wishes to all for a peaceful day and a less worriesome one for those with difficult times whatever they may be.
Good morning everyone from what appears to be the start of sunshine according to my ring doorbell here on the east coast of Fife. Yesterday I had a visit from a young man who’s going to look after my garden for a very decent price. My carer gave me his number and I’m very grateful for that
. Marydoll it would have been good to see you in St Andrews had I known you would be there, I love St Andrews especially the dolls house a beautiful small resteraunt which is owned by a famous Scottish celebrity they’ve got outdoor tables as well as indoors we could have had a great catch up. - maybe next time take care old friend.
Have a good day all those who can, make the most of it for who knows what’s round the corner 💐💐💐here’s what my garden used to look like when my dh was alive , it’s all overgrown now
Good morning all and it’s wet here in Essex.
We had a good clear and clean up at the cottage before our ride arrrived to pick us up. We’d had a lovely few days with Dd and DGD swimming every day and even with seals coming close to see what was going on. They’re nosy creatures.
We saw our friends who have a lodge along the beach to us, so chatted a while before packing up.
The drive home was good and we were ‘home’ and settled before 2 pm.
Today dog has the groomers. Much needed as ,she too swims in the sea, so is ready for a spruce up.
I won’t go to Bowls as we need a lot of shopping and lots of bits and bobs to do.
Take care all . 🌼
Good morning from a stressed Granny.
I rarely oversleep, but after many sleepless nights I have this morning.
The cleaning fairies are due any minute, I have a manicure appointment at 9am, then I should be going to an outdoor petting zoo with DD and The Imp, as the weather forecast is for rain and thunderstorms that needs to be changed.
Will read your news later 🙋♀️
Good morning Mick and everyone from dull Carlisle.
My heart sank when I heard the weather forecast this morning, the dreaded...to me..word 'storm' was mentioned to possibly arrive in a few days. I know it's silly but high winds stress me out! And isn't it early in the season for one?
Yesterday, the ironing was soon demolished and I had a sort through my drawers and cupboards. I have a pile of winter trousers waited to be tried on. My weight has gone up due to the wretched steroids I now have to take so anything that doesn't fit will go straight to the charity shop. As for other items, I gave them a good looking over and decided to keep them for another season and if I still hadn't used them by next year.....Trouble is, some of them haven't been worn for years. I'm just too weak....
In the afternoon I walked in the park. The Council is keeping it up nicely and a lot of titivating has gone on especially as regards the play areas which were busy with kids and parents.
Today I'd really like and need to go into town but I'm awaiting notification of a prescription being ready so would be a waste of time and petrol really as I'd probably have to repeat the trip tomorrow. The pharmacy seems to take longer and longer to do things.
Right, time to try those trousers on! Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from N.Bucks. Dull and overcast again but hopefully we will get a little bit of sunshine.
Will see how the day unwinds. Some deadheading to do in the garden and DD3s garden to water. Maybe start a new watercolour as I finished one yesterday.
Wishing g all a good day with a smile along the way.
Good morning from a cooler dull northwest coast.
Into the city with friend for a Monet immersive experience which we both enjoyed and particularly the section with a green wooden bridge and lake like a stage set. Reminded me of my visit to Giverney in 2014 with my sister.
A chicken schnitzel and a visit to an antiquarian bookshop completed a nice day out.
Today I two windows are being measured up to be replaced and sheets to wash after my visitors.
Thoughts to all🌺
Good morning from a wet W Kent. Last art group until September this morning and then getting ready for the arrival of DB tomorrow. DS and DIL are off on holiday today first time without the children.
Best wishes
Morning, high cloud in S Hants, im hoping for storms but they often skirt us.
Congratulations JamesandJon pray tell more.
You must be looking forward to seeing your other half Sar.
Yesterday was warm and clammy, washing dried, MrJ ironed it all, even jeans which I’ve never done.
I went to book club at our village library, the new book looks rather ‘deep’.
Today I’ll get a curry going in the slow cooker, chicken, lentil and I’ve spinach growing so I’ll chuck some in. Double check my grocery list for tomorrow’s delivery and clean bathrooms.
Thoughts with those who aren’t too well, sad to hear last night soop is very poorly 😕
🦩🦩
Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country, where rain is predicted for this morning.
A pleasant day yesterday with my friend at Dudmaston Hall, a NT property. It was mostly dull but very warm. Lovely guided tour around the garden, which lasted an hour. Walk around the house, and lunch in the garden.
Walking group walk this morning, then over to Mum's this afternoon to take her food shopping.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Morning Mick , morning All, from a drizzly corner of Somerset. A storm storm warning here too, we’ll see.
Yesterday passed peacefully, we were out for the morning and settled with books in the afternoon. A quiet one ahead today too, I may try to sleep for a while after a worse than usual night.
Special thoughts go to the soops and all with personal mountains to climb
Have the best day you can everyone.
Morning all from a damp West Oxfordshire.
Well, I had a good haircut yesterday. I also collected my latest print and it’s on my bedroom wall. Just one print to go but the artist won’t send it to me until the summer exhibition is over in August.
I helped OH jar 50 or more jars of honey. Some will be for friends and family and we’ll sell the rest,
OH is hoping to get some more honey from his hives today. It depends on the weather. If it is raining the bees stay in and won’t want to be disturbed!
It is my Book Group today. The theme is a biography of someone we don’t know much about. I chose the official biography of Dirk Bogarde. Dear me! 1700 + pages of absolutely in depth information of this man’s life. I’m only half way through.
Have a good day. I do hope you get some answers MD.
Good morning from Cambridgeshire where another grey drizzly day is looking likely but not enough rain to do the garden any good I suspect!
I am off to Pilates this morning, an early one do need to get moving. Over the summer we have some extra mixed ability classes. I then need to be home for our new back gate to be delivered and my Ocado shop. I’m enjoying having an online delivery once a week and just top up from the farm shop for fresh meat.
Thinking of those with difficulties and hope today will be a good day for all. Onwards and upwards 🌻
