Its daylight with the Sun yet to rise here in Brackley this morning.
Today , usual routine of Breakfast , followed by a little bit of housework , and then get the bus to Bicester , hopefully chat to those i know , the temptation to have a highly recommended cafe for a all day breakfast is also a thought .
Return home and do more chores after lunch .
Health OK weight steady at the moment .
Take Care,
Mick
I simply couldn't get on GN this morning. I'll go back and read everyone's news now. xx
Thank you Litterpicker, I have had contact with Headway in the past after my original brain injury. They give good advice.
Sorry for your and your family’s loss * Baubles.”
I am so very sorry to hear that your nephew has taken his own life, Baubles. Support from family members and close friends will be important for all.
Susan, glad you are improving. Home soon I hope.
Blossoming, it’s good your tests show no cognitive impairment but it must be difficult not to worry. I don’t know if you have been in contact with Headway? I found its website helpful following my head injury last year
www.headway.org.uk/
Very late this morning. Early Sainsbury’s delivery then gardener appeared.
Just speed read posts.
Sincere condolences Bauble. Hope you’re “released” soon Susan.
Full day tomorrow, out at 8.30 for an appointment at a beauty salon in a nearby town then meeting a friend there for lunch. More time spent on buses than actually doing things.
Have as good a day as possible everyone.
Not had chance to read all the messages yet, but so sorry to hear your dreadful family news, Baubles.
There are no words.
We will keep you all in our prayers. 🙏
There is a dedicated games café in Lytham Madeleine that I think would be just the thing for you. They have regular games some days, including a jigsaw day, and also introduce new games from time to time. It’s called The Kobolds Kettle, shame it isn’t anywhere near you but perhaps it might interest some other grans.
Good morning all from a drier and calmer Stockport.
Still overcast but such an improvement.
My thoughts go out to you Bauble and your nephew’s family.
My H’s nephew took his own life some years ago, my SiL and her family never got over it, it is just so tragic and so sad.
I had a productive day yesterday, even if most of it was not so much manual labour but making social plans.
I have decided that I must get out as much as I can while I can, life is not going to wait for me.
I start this evening by going to spend time with a friend who has had a hip replacement, she has had the most fantastic family support.
Her B and SiL came for 10 days and before they left her S came for a week, reading between the lines her relationship with DiL is tricky but her S is a lovely fellow who is so good to his mum, it is lovely to see.
Also this afternoon the friend I see every Wednesday will be here for coffee, I just hope she is in a better frame of mind, I would be sad to have to let the friendship of over 50 years go
but I really find her increasingly hard to cope with.
Kindest tights to Susan, keep on improving and they will “release “ you and the same kind thoughts to everyone.
Baubles 💐 my condolences
A late good morning from a still blustery Durham. I’m struggling to get my body clock back to U.K. time! Just as well I’d postponed meeting a friend until next week - she’s immunocompromised and I’m still coughing and sneezing.
Susan I’m sure you’re in the right place and hope you will be home soon. Pleased you’re home safely Bellas We like Jet2.
💐Baubles - very sad news.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all. Despite feeling tired, I didn’t sleep a wink last night. A non day no doubt.
Such very sad news baubles. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family, especially to your dear nephews family. 💐
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, more of the same all day.
Had a good walk yesterday with my well-being group; did nearly 3 miles, then coffee at the cafe afterwards. A good crowd, nearly 20 of us.
Got the gardening tools out when I got home, and trimmed back a very overgrown euonymus and cotoneaster, then tackled the honeysuckle and something else I can't remember the name of; all in all a good couple of hours work, and the area looks much tidier.
However it looks as though my gardener will be back soon - I had been trying to contact him through Messenger as usual to no avail. Yesterday afternoon I found a FB post from him apologising that his Messenger wasn't working and to use WhatsApp instead. Which I did and heard back from him saying that he'll fix a date to come to me.
Nothing much planned for today, some gentle pottering and tidying up.
Baubles, what terrible news. My sincere condolences.
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.
It’s much calmer here today. We stayed indoors yesterday after MrB had been shopping. The 50mph winds were just too much. I watched quite a few bracelet tutorials on YouTube, experimented with a few techniques and decided which one suited me best. Then I started on a new bracelet in purple and silver. I found it easier thanks to the tips I’ve picked up but my hands were tired so I didn’t finish it. We will be going out for our usual walk and this afternoon I’ll finish it.
Disappointing Susan but good that you are being looked after.
It must have been lovely to be welcomed by the boys Bellasnana.
Hope you have a good day with DD, Marydoll. I have been worried that the recent seizures might have caused further brain damage, even though my cognitive test in hospital was fine. I’ve struggled with things I used to find easy, but I now write everything down!
So sorry for the loss of your nephew Baubles
Wishing you a good day, whatever you’re doing 🌹
Morning all, baubles ❤️
A late Good Morning from N Bucks although in my defence I was up at 6 to let Rosie out, made myself a mug of tea which sat cooling on the bedside table for the next 2 hours as I slept on.
Looks like a sunny day but still pleasantly fresh. No set plans for today, clearing out and cleaning etc the fridge yesterday was strangely satisfying. Might tackle the freezer next.
Baubles my sincerest sympathy to you and all your nephew’s family.
The suicide of a loved one is surely one of the hardest bereavements to face. It shows the depths of despair he must have reached but hope he is at peace now. 💐
So sorry baubles. Devastating situation.
I didn’t read the thread yesterday RosiesMaw but I’m pleased to hear your diagnosis of your skin lesion was not as scary as you feared. You’ll be in safe hands now, in the system, with an expert team treating you.
Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Small turnout at the music club yesterday and there was a birthday. Extra cake left which I was able to take home, although the dress I wore after nearly a year shows me I have put some weight on…
I took a broken gold chain to a jeweller to be made into a bracelet, better than it just hanging about.
Today a little gardening and acrylic painting.
Sincere condolences to baubles and thoughts to all🌺
So sorry to hear such sad news Baubles sending condolences to you and all your family x
Devastating news baubles please accept my condolences. Such heartbreak for a young family to bear. 💐
Good morning from Sunny Wiltshire. The weather looks set to change to warmer and drier conditions again by the weekend. Ocado delivery arriving this morning.
Yesterday we had both the youngest GCs for the day. We took them on the bus to Chippenham. At 4, it was GS2’s 2nd trip ever on a bus. Naturally we had to sit upstairs at the front. Later on we went blackberry picking. There were literally millions of them but most were already too squishy to pick with many rotting on their stems so we’re a week or 2 too late. At the start of August! We’ve only just started having them both together as although they have many spats they also play together now a lot better.
I’m sorry you haven’t been discharged Susan56. I hope it
will happen very soon.
My heart goes out to you Baubles. That’s so awful for your family.
Bella I’m glad your journey back to Malta was uneventful and it must have been lovely to see your boys again. We are travelling to Chania, Crete with Jet2 next month.
Really good to hear your lesion does not appear to be as bad as it might have been Rosie.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to your DH Monks8 and to your DGD Sar53.
Enjoy the sun everyone if you can.
baubles so very sorry to read your news, my condolences to the family
Good to see you posting Monk, but sorry to hear your news.💐
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 13°C,
Baubles, I shall keep your nephew and family in my prayers. ♥️
Susan, understandably it is frustrating, but your consultant knows best. Make the best of the rest and build up your strength. 💐
We had a delightful morning with Dollie, but not before making an absolute fool of myself in the surgery.
I got so muddled about my prescription, (dreadful brain fog), but the receptionist and one of the grumpier GPSs were so kind to me.
I am sad at my decline, I used to be so sharp and quick witted. It's even more difficult for me, because I am aware I have a problem.
I managed to get my ceramic bird bath, however I will not bore you with DH's antics, suffice to say, my BP was rising by the second.
While Dollie and papa wandered round the toy shop (where she conned him into buying something), I took myself to TKMaxx to have another look at a clay urn, that I had spotted the previous day, but it had no price. I got it for £6.99!! What a bargain. A few of my herbs pots are cracked, so the marjoram will be going in it.
Then I spotted Clarks sandals in exactly Babydoll's size and fitting, DIL was delighted with that bargain!
It was then home to chill and have lunch in the conservatory, well Dollie did, I made Scotch broth, because my mouth is so painful and soup is easy to eat.
I ran to the pharmacy with my prescription, only to find myself sitting on a bench in the Main Street, with my arms around my sobbing hairdresser, who had just come out of the doctor's, after finding another lump on her breast.
Her life is a car crash. Among many tribulations, her husband is about to be sentenced in court and her home has been fumigated, due to a flea infestation from her cats. It is like a storyline from a soap opera.
I just couldn't leave her sitting there. 😪
Today, I am meeting DD in town, we haven't been able to spend much time together recently. It is eight months since losing her job of over twenty years and she starts a new career in the Civil Service on Monday, she is understandably anxious.
She doesn't shop, but hopefully she will pander to me Care in the community^, she calls it, 😄
My Swatch watch needs a battery and the Swatch shop will replace it for free.
It is right next door to JL, how opportune! 😉
Pleased to see Bellasnana, is home safely and Sar, praying your DGD makes a speedy recovery.
Have a good day folks and I hope you find many bargains, Grand Mattie,
Good morning from Cambridgeshire where is looks bright and sunny. I’m meeting DD2 for a walk and some lunch but first I have a pedicure booked.
Book club was a good catch up last night with all my neighbours. Only 7 of us but very enjoyable. We are all going to read an autobiography of our choice before next months meeting. I will read Michael Ball’s he always interests me seems such a nice man. I normally prefer to lose myself in fiction so something different for me to read. I am also re visiting Felix Francis books.
Such sad news baubles condolences to you all.
Susan do hope you will soon be feeling much better and can go home.
Have the best day possible everyone
