Good Morning Everyone ,
Its daylight with the Sun yet to rise here in Brackley this morning.
Today , usual routine of Breakfast , followed by a little bit of housework , and then get the bus to Bicester , hopefully chat to those i know , the temptation to have a highly recommended cafe for a all day breakfast is also a thought .
Return home and do more chores after lunch .
Health OK weight steady at the moment .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and anyone else awake at this hour. Still dark here in SW Wales and a little breezy.
Tesco’s this morning. We have managed to last two weeks from our last shop, so most cupboards are bare. Still there will be lots of treats this evening.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire where the wind has dropped and a sunny day is forecast.

Still in hospital. The ward dr mentioned me going home yesterday but the consultant said absolutely not😭I had a wobble but am thankful for the treatment I am receiving and realise I need to be here.

I hope Bellasnana had a smooth flight home.

Thank you for all your encouragement and support.I am thinking of you all.

Wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Good morning Mick and all from a dry and light North Wales coast where I’m up with sparrowfart all exited because a friend is coming to stay for a few days 🤗.

Haven’t seen her since 2021 when I popped to her villa in Greece and spent a delightful week chatting, chomping on delicious Greek nosh and chugging cocktails 🍹🍸😋. Will do my best with Welsh hospitality in return, my local Aber Falls gin is chilling…😉

Good to see Bellasnana winging her way back to the boys (oh those hugs will be fierce 🥰) and Ash is home safely. Susan and Maw have cheering news - let’s have some for everyone today 🙏

Will catch up with all your bizzinesses later 👋

Pantglas2 Wed 06-Aug-25 05:37:41

Oh Susan I just read yesterday’s news and assumed your release was imminent….😱. I’m sure a few extra days being looked after will make a huge difference to your recovery, let’s hope so x

Sar53 Wed 06-Aug-25 05:42:49

A very early good morning from the Essex coast. I've had a disturbed night, lots of anxious thoughts, which I know don't help but try telling my brain that.
Thinking of you Susan and hope you get home soon.
DGD1 had to go to A&E yesterday with a severe ear infection. She is feeling very sorry for herself. She is also 17 on Saturday so I'm hoping she will be feeling better by then.
I have lots of last minute jobs to do today before my trip to Holland tomorrow.
I hope you all have a good day, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from a dry and less windy NE.
Yesterday I did a big grocery shop with SIL because he is returning home to Brussels today.
We did some research about TVs, I need two new ones as the present ones won't allow me to watch Netflix or iplayer. I will buy them when he next returns to the UK and we can set them up.
I also need a new computer and mobile phone so it will be a busy time.
SIL will be celebrating his 60th birthday in a few weeks and DD is arranging some very nice surprises for him.
I have been awake since 2am so I hope I have the energy to do some housework today, need to tidy round because my sisters are coming tomorrow after we have lunch out.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

grandMattie Wed 06-Aug-25 06:08:14

Good morning from Bristol.
Susan, glad you were still in hospital when you had your wobble, it’s horrible having one just when you return home. Stay safe.
I had another quiet day, just pottering, although I spoke at length to a neighbour regarding our election for a non/resident manager. The results are still nor public, as we haven’t yet received a letter, but the area manager sent him an email with the numbers. These are as clear as mud, so Tony will be writing again asking for clarification!
Whatever happens, we shall be without a manger for yet another lengthy period. Difficult. As, Tony said, we are supposed to be anxiety-free here. Ha!
Today, I’m going to a sale of sewing stuff - fabrics, notions, equipment - run by a WI member for her mother. I’m hoping to pick up a few things for DGD’s stocking, an£ fabrics for me. I shall indulge myself! I spend so very little these days.
I hope everyone had a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from bright and cloudy s somerset

Susan flowers you`ll be home soon

Steam train trip is being postponed for a few days, I have a busy day today, starting with an ocado delivery at 8am

My new `sensible` trugs arrived, a better size for me and 4 are already loaded into my car, all 2/3 full of soil to transport to my allotment. There is more dry soil waiting in big trugs in my garage, so I will be re-filling the car when I get back. I am definitely not going to be handling bigger amounts of soil at any one time, not since putting overload onto my hip and leg

I dismantled the next metal vegtrug and that will need to be loaded and transported to the tip but first I want to soak the next batch of skeins to thwack and then drip outside. The first lot dried well yesterday (photo) and I will measure the weight and length of one skein, so I can rest my mind about whether I will have enough yarn for a mans jumper

My 7 butternut squash sitting on the last vegtrug are all ripening fast and becoming honey-coloured and the leaves are starting to fade. Tomatoes outdoors are a disappointment this year, not many and not worth the expense nor effort. Same as always, planted in halos in buckets, only different thing is the compost and I don`t like this new one, well known make too

A busy day today and I need to put this particular heavy spinning wheel back upstairs and clear my dining table, again. It is full of spinning paraphernalia. I will be bringing a different spinning wheel downstairs, more suited to spinning lighter woolly fluffier yarn

Have a good day

Good morning from the Black country where the sun is trying to break through.
Haven't posted for some time life seems to have got in the way, DH has had a few more episodes and although cardio say not to worry ICD is doing its job its easier said than done. ( just hope that Duracell bunny keeps hopping).
Due to happenings beyond our control our short break away had to be cancelled, we have another planned later in the year hopefully that will go as planned.
I have been reading most days but not until late evening.
Virtual hugs for those who need them, safe travels those on the move and best wishes for anyone celebrating.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Good morning all from north Leicestershire where it is bright but a bit chilly.

DGD3 and 4 are here for a few days. Today we will feed DS1's cat and then visit the gift shop in the village - a must every visit.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Bellasnana Wed 06-Aug-25 06:53:25

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and expected to reach a bearable 30°C.

Thank you Susan and Pantglas, I had a really good journey home. My kind friend took me to Liverpool and, for the first time ever, I flew with Jet2. I can’t fault them. No standing around for ages, lovely plane, lovely cabin crew, and a safe arrival twenty minutes early.

My two treasures were waiting for me, what joy to see them and hug them again!

I unpacked after a fashion, still need to put a few things away, and I have at least four loads of laundry to do but I’ll take it in my stride, there’s no hurry.

I have an appointment with my financial advisor at noon so no rush to get up. I’m enjoying my tea in bed. As comfy as the beds were that I have slept in over the past couple of weeks, there’s nothing like sinking into your own is there!

I hope you will soon be well enough to return home Susan but it sounds as though you are in the right place for now.💐

Have a good day everyone.☀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and cloudy. Yesterday turned into a beautiful but windy day. Susan I can feel your disappointment from here. You're where you need to be right now. Pantglas enjoy your visit from your friend. Sar I hope your dgd recovers from her ear infection before her birthday.
Yesterday the boys and I headed to soft play early but it was already busy. I hate it when it's full of other people's children 😂. We sat near another family and the boys latched onto them. The four children played tig for while the dad and I blethered. He was South African and a lovely man indeed..
Back home there was much painting. Dgs1 was disappointed that 'their' bedroom isn't being painted so soft grandma has ordered decals for it. The boys are so different: dgs1 has a decal of Ronaldo the footballer while dgs2 has butterflies. In the afternoon we went to another green space nearby. Dgs1 took his football and collected fallen conkers but it was much too windy to stay out long.
Today I have to take the car for a service and MOT. The garage is in the village so I'll walk home. Then I shall start washing skirting boards etc ready for painting next week.at some point I will walk back to pick up the car. Dinner will be a gammon steak and potatoes and peas. I fancied macaroni cheese and chips last night. I have some left but I never enjoy second day macaroni cheese. Have a good day all

Grandmabatty Wed 06-Aug-25 06:57:42

bellasnana I'm glad you are home safely. I'm a fan of Jet2 as well.

Good Morning fr MS. A grocery pick-up this morning, & making a quiche later on. I was v happy to be sent photos of my DGS, who's attending a residential cricket camp @ Millfield school in Somerset this week. My own childhood was spent watching cricket @ week-ends - I'd love to be able to watch him play in matches, so I really value being sent the current & unexpected photos!
I hope all y'all have a safe & pleasant day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Going to be a fine calm day in South Yorkshire. GS is coming over with this morning for an overnight stay. His dad will drop him off on his way to work (which is actually just five minutes away from me!). After a cooked breakfast (without which he cannot function) we will attack a few jobs, mostly in the garden, but at some stage over the next two days I intend to send him up into the loft to see what is in some long forgotten bags and boxes, and decide what, if anything, we can get rid of. Later this afternoon we will go and see the butcher at the supermarket and choose a couple of nice steaks for dinner (it will be cheaper than taking him out😱) which we will cook together - or that is to say, I will cook and he will stand around giving me advice about how to cook and generally getting in the way! Then we’ll watch a film and probably by nine o’clock he’ll be the last man standing!! I am making hay with him while the sun shines.
Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Wed 06-Aug-25 07:11:19

Good morning, a lovely mellow sunny start here on the hillside in south Glos, it’s rather cool too so I need to add a throw to the bed.
Yesterday was uneventful, generally spent doing odds and sods. The washing dried beautifully and was all put away, I do so love line-dried laundry.
Today I will go to the village for the dog walk, might pop into the cafe for a coffee when it opens. I also want to do some blackberry picking, I have cooking apples and I love blackberry and apple crumble 😋
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but dry
Hope you’re feeling better and get home soon Susan
A worrying time monk08, hope you manage your break away later
The fridge is full and the house is clean in preparation for busy few days ahead with DD1 and family arriving today. I’m really looking forward to seeing them all and it’ll be lovely having all 4 DGC together
Sar53 💐
Pleased you’re home safely Bellas there’s nothing like being back in your own bed
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Wiltshire where we’ve enjoyed a short break

Monday was catch up day with friends and oh so much chatting. Yesterday we set out into the Cotswolds to see where the car took us.

Driving through a very busy Bibury a parking space magically appeared so we stopped. Many happy memories of being there with small and not so small children were triggered but goodness we were appalled at the intrusive behaviour of some people. The houses are homes, not a movie set! I found it quite upsetting

A too close encounter between a wasp and my thumb had me reaching for antihistamine, my body over reacts to wasp stings. Instant swelling and a bright red hand, wrist and lower arm. Burford garden centre provided a welcome cuppa, cake (!) and ice for my swollen thumb as well as much wandering and looking. By then I didn't feel on top of the world so we returned via Cirencester where we spent a happy couple of hours. After a late afternoon meal I slept for 90 minutes and felt so much better.

The thumb is almost back to usual size this morning. We’ll gather belongings after breakfast, a late checkout means no rush, and wander home stopping at Lacock or Dyrham.

Maybe the Autumn will see a return and wasps permitting re-visiting Bourton-on-the-Water and the little museum, Stow-on-the Wold and Snowshill. All places on our memory lane list.

Hope no more hitches on your route to recovery Susan. With thoughts to all facing personal mountains.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a bright W Kent. I feel as if I am having a really busy week, this morning I am off to make jam with DGD1. I am doing strawberry this year I have the lemons and just hope it will set. I know it will be fun anyway. Later I shall face a pile of ironing although it’s more likely it will be left for tomorrow.
Susan I am sure the modern NHS won’t keep you longer than is necessary and hope you are home soon
Good wishes

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. We have watery sunshine at the moment.

I’m sorry to have to bring the mood down but I am not able to post without acknowledging an awful event.

Our family has had a devastating blow. One of our nephews, a husband and father, after more than one attempt in the past year, has succeeded in taking his life. If you pray please remember M.

We will visit DS today on his birthday although I’m grateful that we are not needed for childminding as DDoutL is on annual leave.

Baubles so very sorry to hear of your sad news I’ll pray for you and the rest of the family -take care 💐

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Busy day yesterday, taking Mum food shopping, then Doctors appointment. She now has to take blood pressure tablets, and her weight has dropped fairly dramatically. Mum though, being on a lifetime of watching her weight, sees that as a win? smile Then popped over to see DD and family as they arrived home from Majorca the day before. Dropped off DGD2's present as she is 17 in a couple of weeks, and a bottle of wine for DD and SIL as Sunday will be their 23rd Wedding Anniversary, how did that happen?

U3a Amblers group walk this morning, usually just a gentle 2 miles, but thought I would give it a try.

Wishing you well Susan and hope you are home soon.

Bellas glad you are home safely. We too are fans of Jet2 always, never any queues, and lots of staff to help.

Glad you are back Monk I was getting a tad concerned. Hope your DH is ok. Will have to arrange a Birmingham meet soon?

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Bellasnana Wed 06-Aug-25 07:33:52

baubles that is so sad. Condolences to all who loved him.💐
