Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

So pleased to read you are home Susan.♥️

Roses, there is an abundance of bramles here too, the are huge and much earlier than usual.
If I feel well enough, I may make bramble jelly.

I have had little sleep again and am counting the minutes until the next dose of painkillers. Due to this, I have cancelled my trip to Silverburn. Also, I have a medical appointment this afternoon, so will take it easy.

Yesterday started off badly. DS2 arrived earlier than usual, with a very distressed Babydoll. She has suddenly developed separation anxiety and won't let him out of her sight. Eventually, I insisted he leave for work, that it wasn't the first time I had had to deal with this type of behaviour, he was exactly the same. Poor DS and DH were very upset, I am a hard woman I just went into teacher mode and used distraction techniques.
Within five minutes, she was in the kitchen, happily chattering away, insisting on organising her own breakfast.

I suggested to DH, that we walk her round to the farm to see the horses and baby calves. He wanted to put her in the buggy, but I knew she would fall asleep. She had her umbrella to use as a walking stick, she loves to copy me.
As we passed the fire station, she called out for Fireman Sam and became very annoyed, when there was no sign of him..
The fire men/women, will usually wave to her, if the doors are open.
After fifteen minutes, she said STOP , climbed into the buggy and promptly fell asleep. I suggested we didn't mention the nap to DIL, who would not have approved!!!🤣

DH surpassed himself yesterday. We have had to contact the factor, who manages the common land, to get the trees trimmed, which are overhanging out roof.
As were going out with Babydoll, a tree surgeon drove by. He stopped when he saw DH looking at him. I was ahead with BabyD and saw him disappearing round to our back garden.
He was away for ages, so I decided to go back because I didn't trust DH.😉.
I heard the tree surgeon telling DH what needed to be done and suggesting he could deal with some trees on our property, quoting an eye watering sum,
When I said the bill had to go to the factor, the tree surgeon said, that he was not dealing with them, we had to pay.
It was then that I realised that DH was dealing with a random tree surgeon, who was just passing by. He was NOT, the official one. DH refused to admit, that he could not be trusted!
He is a liability.🤣

Later BabyD was playing in the garden with DH, when he came to tell me, that Dollie, who was next door at her other grandparents, had climbed the fence and came and gave BabyD a hug. Baby was delighted.
Of course, DH, being DH did not tell me, until Dollie was gone! 🤬

I wish you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans and safe travels to all, who are on the move.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Well the car went in yesterday hopefully back today they are waiting on parts, phoned us with the price that's DH pension gone this monthshock.
There is a small retail outlet by the dealership and a coat from TKMAXX just happened to come home with me.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's dry and windy.
My shift at the till this morning.

Tonight we will have a full house. My friend is staying overnight while he has given over his Edinburgh flat to visiting family.
My 2 helpers are here and the new lodgers will move in over the weekend.
Yesterday I took the "girls" to visit our local stately home and we clocked up 10km. including climbing over fences.
There were fabulous meadows.

Good that you are home Susan

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
It turned out nice yesterday so spent some time gardening and had my lunch in the garden, reading a Sally Rooney novel. Not sure what to think of it…

FaceTime with flying DD in the south, back from Texas. She sent me samples of wallpaper for the bedroom I’m going to redecorate. As I’m next to the sand dunes, I’m going for a beach theme.
Today into town with a signed form for my FA, they said they had enclosed a prepaid envelope, but they hadn’t.
Thanks for kind remark on my painting crosstichfan.

Nice to be home Susan, thoughts to the FGTs and all🌺

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, going to be nice all day.

Pleased with my visit to the hairdresser yesterday, my new style has almost grown in; it has taken since January to grow out nearly all the layers, and it is easier to manage.

After sitting in the salon nearly all morning I decided to walk home, over 2 miles, and felt good afterwards. Had a late lunch and then waited for my Sainsburys delivery, only the bread not available, but I can easily get a loaf tomorrow.
Made a large macaroni cheese for dinner, and have just put the two portions left over in the freezer. Have just retrieved a chicken curry from the freezer for tonight's dinner.

Dance classes this morning then shall probably have coffee afterwards at the bakery over
the road.

Shall now go back and catch up with the whole thread.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning all from a very sunny and windy day here on the east coast of Fife. My gardener will be coming today again I’ve loads of weeds needing to be dealt with. I’ll be off shopping with my Bonny carer today we’ll have great fun.

Good morning from a sunny 16 degree Cambridgeshire rising to 25 later.

We had a lovely lunch with my old school friends yesterday and were able to eat outside in a very sheltered pub/restaurant garden. The food was delicious.

Today DH and I will do a walk across the meadows. The cows (so many of them this year) are very lively! DH has lawn bowls this afternoon and I will pop to the local garden centre, call round to DD2 (she is off on holiday this evening) with the little ones to their caravan on the Norfolk coast. I will then potter in my garden. I seem to have had a busy social week and need a bit of quiet time.

Lovely to hear you are home Susan and hope recovery goes well.

Sending best wishes to all for a good day hopefully enjoying some sunshine.

Good morning all. More of the same, wet and windy start to the day in Glasgow clearing up later to dry and sunny but high gusts of wind will remain…..there goes another few geranium heads!

I didn’t manage to visit the bank yesterday and will do that today also, back to the pharmacy to collect the missing meds from the pile I collected yesterday. Weather permitting, I would like to spend some time in the garden. 🤞

Wishing you a speedy recovery now you are home Susan Slowly does it.
Good luck finding Nessie Brook! Enjoy your picnic, something I like to do too.

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for those struggling through whatever troubles you may have.

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and pleasant at the moment and the cicadas are making their usual loud noises!

Yesterday I was looking after the boys from early on and forgot to post.

They have both really come on in the time I’ve been away, both talking a lot more clearly, still adorable and very well behaved when I took them with me for my hair appointment. Oh how I missed my lovely hairdresser!

In the evening a lady from Animal Welfare came and took all Buzz’s belongings plus several bags/cans of food. She was trying to tempt me into taking one of the many dogs they have in the rescue but I’m definitely not ready, even to foster a dog.😢

This morning a very pleasant gentleman came to collect two old frames which I had put on a recycle site. They had contained two tapestries done by my great grandmother when she was eleven years of age in around 1870. I took them to my niece and they are being reframed as a present from me. So glad to keep them in the family.

Good to hear you are home Susan. It takes some adjusting after being in hospital so take care of yourself.

I’m waiting in for the cleaners to collect a big rug after which I need to go shopping for food. I also have a mountain of ironing to do.

I’ve enjoyed reading all the posts this morning, hope you all have a good day.☀️

merlotgran Fri 08-Aug-25 08:40:51

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry south Hants. DGD is coming to lunch today to deliver the desk she is passing on to me and say goodbye as she leaves for Bristol on Sunday morning. That will be all the DGCs scattered to the winds! 🥲
As it’s a last minute thing - she invited herself last night 😂, we’re having salad Niçoise and plum pistachio crumble with ice cream. Thank goodness I always have plenty of food in stock but just to complicate matters, my dishwasher refused to fill with water last night so I had to empty it and wash the whole bally lot by hand at 11pm. What a bummer. 😡

Hope everyone has the best possible day.

GrannySomerset Fri 08-Aug-25 09:03:06

So glad to see that Susan is safely home and hope all goes well with her recovery. People look busy today, as I am - oldies’ coffee morning and then acting as chauffeur for a friend who is not driving at present and has several local places she needs to visit this afternoon. Glad to be of use.

Not looking forward to the next heatwave and hope it is short. Otherwise all is well.

Blossoming Fri 08-Aug-25 09:06:25

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Yesterday was cloudy and warm. MrB and I went for our usual walk down to the Dock gates and I got on with some jewellery making after lunch. Today will be much the same.

So pleased to read you are home Susan, it’s such a lovely feeling. Thank you for saying that about my recovery, I have good days and not so good days but it’s just so good to be home with MrB!

Welcome home Bellasnana. I think that was rather tactless of the Animal Welfare lady, our pets are not objects to be replaced and it takes time before you are ready for another, if ever.

Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🌹

luluaugust Fri 08-Aug-25 09:06:46

Pleased to read you are home Susan.
Are you sure that thumb doesn’t need looking at llfl?
Whilst I would be delighted to decrease what’s in my freezer, of course I meant defreeze.

Usedtobeblonde Fri 08-Aug-25 09:12:39

Good morning from a fairly bright Stockport.
So pleased you are home Susan I hope your recovery is not too long but is complete.
The children will be delighted to see you.
I went out for lunch yesterday with my friend across the road.
I was thankful it was her choice of venue as she hardly touched her main course, I didn’t ask why and she didn’t say.
She can be very critical, I cleared my plate!!
We then went to two different garden centres, she suddenly decided to start shopping for C……..s stocking fillers.
At the second we had tea and cake, I shall stay overweight for ever, and it was 4:30 when we got home .
I was very tired but had enjoyed being out.
I am finishing off the week by going out for a meal tonight.
That will probably “ be it” for ages.
Enjoy what you can everyone.

GrandmaC47 Fri 08-Aug-25 10:30:33

Pleased you’re home Susan.
Good day yesterday with 3 beauty treatments followed by lunch.
DD2 called earlier today to deliver some meals on wheels for our freezer, always welcome.
No plans for today, a lazy one I think.
It is our local agricultural show tomorrow and the showfield is very near to us, so no doubt we will be woken early by the tannoy 😀.
Have a good day.
