Sitting here eating my breakfast, listening to Classic FM as usual.
Aled Jones is hosting the Breakfast show, standing in for Dan Walker, obviously on holiday.
I much prefer Aled’s dulcet tones to Dan’s rather strident, excitable way of presenting, with his dog walkers comments and hearing about some listener’s experience with their own Fido.
Set me thinking how the evening BBC News has preferred presenters, (Clive Myrie, Reta Chakrabarty, Jane Hill) to some of the others, likewise with the weather presenters.
Still, wouldn’t do if we all thought alike, would it?

I am pleased to see Penny Smith back on TV. She is on GB News in the mornings with Eamonn Holmes.
I so agree with you Magenta8 about preferring Dermot Murnaghan on Egg Heads. I like Tony Blackburn too and even his jokes! Enjoy listening to his Golden Hour.
I much preferred Dermot Murnaghan to Jeremy Vine on Egg Heads.
I've had a soft spot for Tony Blackburn dating back to listening on my transistor radio in bed after lights out to Radio Caroline and Radio London.
😊👍

Anyone but Naga Munchetty.
Yuk, Naga Munchetty.
I so agree with you! Apart from her presenting ‘style’, I want to take shampoo to that greasy hair!
QDo let it grow a bit, woman! You look scalped!
I really cannot stand Reverend Kate Bottley and Jason Mohammad on Radio 2 Sunday mornings.
Childish banter and both talking (shouting) at the same time. Have to switch off.
That’s “unamusing”!
I just miss Steve Wright In the Afternoon and Sunday Love songs. Latter used to be fave but now it’s yukkk, pass the sick bag . It’s so cheesy. cannot bear Michael Ball. I’m sure he’s a nice chap but so cringy and “lovey darling”. Also lost me for the breakfast show after Chris Evans. He could be annoying banging on about Carfest but he made me laugh. Zoe and then Scott. Both so dull and in amusing.
Another one who turns off ClassicFM when Alexander Armstrong bounces on. I do like Marguerite whatshername in the afternoon..
Of the Today presentersI like Amol Raman as he is less confrontational and also Justin Webb. I do not listen to radio 2. On BBC News, Sophie and Rita Chakrabati are less jarring than the men.

Cannot stand Naga on BBC Breakfast always switch to ITV if she’s on … she’s so negative and sarcastic
I agree 100%. Can’t understand why so many people think she’s good when she really isn’t! I never can watch her now, having seen her a couple of times. I though I’d get used to her but I never will. Can’t watch the BBC Breakfast programme except on her days off.
The other presenters on there are mostly lovely. I especially like Sally and John.
So glad Nina’s gone now, too.. She was as bad as Munchetty!
I think the Naga/Charlie double act is awful. She is far better on occasions when he isn't around and the same applies to him. I don't know why they are on together.

Anyone is better than Richard Madeley on GMB. I don't know how Kate Garraway didn't lose it with him the other day, he wouldn't let her, or anyone else speak without speaking over him.
I loathe Kate Garraway with a passion. Dreadful woman and rubbish at what she does.
I'm not keen on her either to be honest but I did feel sorry for her with him spouting his opinion as if he is some great philosopher.
Love Roger Johnson, he's professional but friendly, as well as being very nice to look at (ha,ha) always a bonus when the news is miserable 😀
From a very unscientific assessment of comments on here I would say Naga Munchetty holds the award for the most disliked tv presenter !
There is a local news girl on the BBC news whose voice sets my teeth on edge!
Not sure what her name is but it sounds like Annjanna somebody.

I think Amal Rajan has been such a pleasant addition to University Challenge - very supportive and polite, unlike Jeremy Paxman who seemed to enjoy sneering at the students.
I miss George Alagiah too. He seemed such a kind and gentle person.
Storm Huntley is, I think, a great presenter - one of the best in my opinion.
Surely it is natural, and desirable, for presenters to show some personality, provided they don't detract from what they are presenting? I find the weather girl on ITV (I don't know her name) to be a bit over-excitable and difficult to watch.
I really missed the calm, soothing tones of John Suchet, when AA took over. I don’t mind him now, but….
I do like Aled. I find Alan Titchmarsh a mite irritating though.
I like Gary Davies on radio 2 and don’t mind Vernon Kaye. I also like Trevor Nelson and DJ Spoony . I’m not a fan on Sarah Cox , Jeremy Vine , Zoe Ball , Paddy Mcguiness and Elaine Paige , although I love musical theatre .
I don’t mind any of the classic FM presenter, and I’ve started to listen to Boom Radio as I like Nicky Horne and remember him from Capital in the early days , when he did a Rock programme called , your mother wouldn’t like it.
Do the man a courtesy and spell his name correctly. He is everywhere these days, I wonder if he is a polymath?

I would like Sara Cox at breakfast rather than Scott Mills, though he’s better than the silly cackling Zoe Ball. I’d like O J Borg mid-morning as I can’t stand Vernon Kay’s voice, Tina Daheley instead of Jeremy Vine, Gary Davies in the afternoon slot please, Simon Mayo back for Drivetime, leave Jo Whiley with her evening slot.
Maybe then I’d go back to Radio 2, until then I’ll just listen to Bob Harris on Sundays, unless Jo has an interesting programme.
I don’t like the boring predictability of Greatest Hits Radio and prefer Boom Radio for its wider range of songs. Ken Bruce should have joined Boom!
My day inevitably begins with radio three , which has a great variety of music, announcers who do not mumble, and who can add interesting information regarding the recordings. They do not play endless "lollipops" as Sargent called them. Yes the slow movement might be your favourite movement but it is heard within the context of the whole piece and not played like a child wanting to have the best bit all the time. It diminishes the music as the composer wanted it to be played. I know that is not possible all the time, but radio 3 and 4 provide a lot of good presenters, but so long as they do their job well I dont really mind who is speaking. Never Jeremy Vine though, I find his voice irritating and his emphasising in peculiar places drives me mad!!
But for a blast from the past, as a child listening to things like childrens hour , the lovely voice of David Davis reading the Just so stories, Patricia Routledge, and Violet Carson felt like uncles and aunties to me and I would happily sit and listen to them at any time.

I love Nick Ferrari on LBC and listen every morning. However I switch off immediately at 10.00 when the egotistical James O’Brien comes on
So do I. Is it possible to enjoy listening to such a pompous man.
Don’t like Nicky Campbell, Paddy McGuinness, Vernon Kay, Carol Kirkwood. Like Sophie Raworth, Tomas Schafanacher(?), Laura Kuensberg! There - I’ve said it!!
