Andrew Lownie's book came out today. I have yet to read it but apparently Andrew and Fergie are both shown in a very unfavourable light.

I can't help feeling sorry for Beatrice and Eugenie.

There was a documentary on Channel 5 last night (9.10pm, 16/08) called Entitled.

It had interviews with the author, and picked over the details of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s lives.

They have definitely made some unwise choices along with appearing to have no idea regarding financial matters.

We saw parts of the Channel 4 programme too. Seemed to me too much like kicking a man when he’s down. Andrew came across as an idiot with poor judgement and an inflated sense of his own importance, but that’s the sum of it.

Both of them seem to lack any sense and any judgement.

Surprisingly, their daughters seem to be well-adjusted young women.

I believe there are some allegations in the book about financial shenanigans with them too. Something about unexplained funds. Lownie is out to get them all!

The ‘rumours’ about Mountbatton’s involvement with boys from Kincora are consistent amongst people close enough to have direct knowledge
Lord and Lady Mountbatten appear to have enjoyed sexual relationships with men and women and Lord M said to like boys

I admired the Queen for shaking hands with men involved in the group that murdered Lord M

If true about Mountbatten why would there be secrecy 50 years on, he can’t be arrested and charged , I ask because it
doesn’t make sense , no one is protected from this truth being made public

You'd have thought someone would have come out of the woodwork by now, wouldn't you?

It is possible that Henry VIII has direct descendants as he is said to have fathered several illegitimate children.

He only acknowledged one of them, Henry FitzRoy Duke of Richmond and Somerset, who died childless at the age of 17.

Henry Fitzroy died at the age of 17.

It is thought possible that Henry VIII had a disorder which meant his children, particularly sons, were miscarried, stillborn or did not survive into adulthood.

A number of people have come out the woodwork. The peadophile ring operating in Northern Ireland had links to Kincora. It’s said MI5 was involved in its suppression
MI5 prevented the prosecution of Cyril Smith so I’m not surprised it’s said of Kincora

I have finished reading 'Entitled' and one of the things that really angers me is the sheer amount of tax payers money this pair of wasters spent on maintaining their super rich, super privileged lifestyle.

Of course I also found their sexual shenanigans, particularly those of Prince Andrew, profoundly sickening. Prince Andrew makes Gregg Wallace look positively restrained.

As we, the tax payers or ex-tax payers, of Britain have bank-rolled a great number of the royal couple's escapades it is only right that we should have the facts made available to us and as such 'Entitled' does far more than just "dishing the dirt".

After reading it, I also felt shocked and angry by their appalling behaviour and the waste of taxpayers' money.
There is a good thread on Mumsnet from people who have actually read the book.

Another muck raking publication .

I feel sorry for Beatrice and Eugenie and I also feel sorry for their parents as it's hard to refute all the allegations .

I don’t think it is, tbh. Listened to his podcast last night, the guy seems genuinely nice & not a muck raker. I have backed up PA on here but after listening to this topic on PA, I now think otherwise! The way he has a sense of entitlement. The way he has spoken to his staff (lining up his silly teddy bears).
Sexually inappropriate towards woman.
The way he kept in with Epstein after the allegations broke. It tells us a lot really.

I met Katherine Duchess of Kent many times over several years, we volunteered for the same charity. I was told during the harsh winter of 1976 she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels,

I know The King when Prince of Wales was dry stone walling in a farm in Wales during a foot and mouth outbreak

She is probably one of the genuine, hard working royals.

Yes, a genuine, gentle woman , nothing to do with being a
royal, she was a lovely human being .

I think she is Catherine with a 'C' not a 'K'. I just hope she is well on the way to a full recovery from her cancer.

The royals seem to be a mixture of the good, the bad and the outrageously awful.

It’s a different Katharine, Magenta - The Duchess of Kent.
(Catherine, Princess of Wales is a different person, married to Prince William).

Magenta8 Mon 25-Aug-25 16:29:57

Sorry!!

Ziplok Mon 25-Aug-25 17:57:53

No problem, Magenta 😁

Have started the book, reached the York divorce, what else to come?
ghastly couple
