Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight here in Brackley ,it looks like attempts to rain in the night did not last.
Today , I hope to get the bus to Bicester , but with the heat its effected my health ,yesterday I stayed on the bus and came straight back, but struggled to walk .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from a very breezy North Leicestershire. It is predicted to be mid 20s later.

Today will be spent preparing for
DH's party tomorrow, collecting the cake and erecting the gazebo. And being thankful that we have caterers coming tomorrow.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Happy birthday Grammaretto enjoy your day

Good morning from a cooler feeling Suffolk after an unpleasantly hot night. I think we might venture to a local common for a dog walk and coffee and cake in the cafe there if the cloud and cool continue.

Hope your eye feels a little more comfortable as the day goes on Gingster and all cope well with whatever heat you get wherever you are.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Enjoyed a quiet day yesterday, sorting art materials etc.
I cooked a zucchini parmigiana for the evening which was a failure, or rather not to my taste and filled up with ice cream and cheese and biscuits.
Sat in the garden in the evening reading, a candle lit for atmosphere and a hedgehog shuffled by my feet. Hope to see it again.
More sorting today and a walk into the dunes.
Happy birthday Grammaretto and do take care Mick🌺

Good morning everyone from an overcast and dull Northampton, but a cooler day ahead and some sun later.

Susan56 it is also our town's balloon festival today! Late DH and I also used to go regularly, but I shan't get there this year as I am meeting a friend at the cinema - we are seeing the new 'Naked Gun', which is supposed to be very good.

Dance classes were very tiring yesterday in the heat, but I did manage all three, even though I had to sit out for a few minutes in our tap class. We had frequent drink breaks.. Thank goodness my last class, Barre, was a lot less strenuous.

Afterwards hopped on the bus to the shops, had a cold drink and snack in the M&S Cafe, then did my weekend top-up shop. Took it very easy when I got home.

Just about to have crumpet and jam for breakfast!

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Happy birthday Grammaretto🥳enjoy your day🎂🍾🥂

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 15°C.

I had a dreadful night, with little sleep. At the moment, I am plagued with leg cramps, all part of this latest problem.
At one point, I had chest pain, which obviously wasn't another heart attack, because I have lived to tell the take.🤣

On that note Mick, you really must rest and stop gadding about, especially in this heat, otherwise you are going to end up back in hospital,

Not much was achieved yesterday, apart from getting yet another lot bloods done and having a new medication dispensed.
On seeing how exhausted doing nothing I was, DH drove me.
It was rather stressful, he does not cope well with driving in this busy part of town, with heavy traffic, double parked cars and difficulty parking and I do not cope well with his driving. 😉
Every other motorist is at fault, he is a perfect driver. I wish I could be a saint, like him.🤣

On the journey, I was venting my frustration about grumpy DH to DD and DIL1 before I realised I was posting on the family chat, where DH and everyone else could read it. 😱 I was frantically drying to delete it! Serves me right for being so uncharitable.
My concentration and reasoning are so poor at the moment, I am making so many mistakes.

This annoyance had been triggered by the fact that earlier, I had found my injection delivery, which must be put immediately into the fridge without touching anything else, lying at the foot of the stairs, despite leaving strict instructions, what to do with it. 😡

Usual church admin routine today, apart from that, I shall be doing absolutely nothing!
We are taking bets on how many revised copies of the parish bulletin, I will receive from the P.P , before I can send it out.
Last week's total was five amendments/ errors. There have been two versions already!

Wishing you all a pleasant day and congratulations to all those working grandchildren, some who have achieved outstanding results.
For those who gave been disappointed, my heart goes out to them.♥️

Good morning all from another muggy start to the day here in the Black country.
Meeting our friends in Redditch later haven't seen them for a couple weeks so will be good to catch up.
Don't seem to have much energy lately and not sleeping well probably the weather so will carry on reading my book until we go out.
Many happy returns Grammaretto enjoy your day.🎂🎉💐.
Usual full English calling, have a good day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

GrannySomerset Sat 16-Aug-25 08:49:58

Washing in the machine so when it is hung out I will decide whether to do a supermarket shop or leave it a day or two as it isn’t essential yet. Am finding the hot weather exhausting and trying to keep the house cool a full time job but it can’t go on for ever and I look forward to grumbling about wind and rain once more.

My sympathy, Marydoll, and I hope you feel a bit better soon despite the lack of support from your GP. I realise that we are lucky with our practice though I have people had to wait for four weeks to see the doctor of my choice and must decide which problem to discuss. Far from ideal.

Marydoll Sat 16-Aug-25 08:50:32

Happy birthday, dear Grammaretto 💕 Have a great day.

I'm ready to go out. : Grandmabatty, I'm still in bed!🤣

Grandmabatty Sat 16-Aug-25 08:53:04

marydoll I wish I could stay in bed but once I'm awake, I'm up. Hopefully you'll get a cup of tea brought to you

Good morning from a heavy, overcast, grey Durham.
I’ve little on today, other than stocking up on fruit from M&S for DGS2’s sleepover tonight. He’s so excited, but first he’s spending the day at a local farm attraction, so I hope he doesn’t fall asleep in DD2’s car on the way here - he could come and walk Little Dog with me later, to tire him if necessary.

🎂 Grammaretto - have a lovely day.
I get so frustrated on your behalf MD especially when my hypochondriac friend has her GP at her beck and call!

Best wishes to all. X

JamesandJon33 Sat 16-Aug-25 09:19:22

Bore Da everyone. A bit late this morning as we had our
Ladies Gin night last night, so late to bed.
Warm out as I have just been up the road to post a letter. So another quiet day today I think, but not much cooler by the forecast this morning.
Enjoy your weekend everyone

I did, with a hot water bottles for my joints....and two tea biscuits into the bargain.

That will be his Florence Nightingale duties fulfilled for the day. 🤣

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Yesterday my BP was 112/68 so easily within range. It’s going to be another beautiful day. Only plans for today are our usual morning walk.

Happy birthday Grammaretto.

Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🌹

GrandmaC47 Sat 16-Aug-25 09:51:04

Happy Birthday, Grammareto 🎂 enjoy your day.
Much cooler here in Co Durham, suits me 😀.
There is a live music festival near here this weekend and if the wind is in the right direction we will hear it.
Hope you all have an easy Saturday.

Litterpicker Sat 16-Aug-25 10:03:13

Good morning from West Sussex. It’s grey and breezy here.

Happy Birthday Grammaretto - have a lovely day.

Take care all with health issues. Mick, I hope there is some cycling to watch so that you can have a restful day.

Going to a market so no more today or I will be too late for the bargains!

Ziplok Sat 16-Aug-25 10:06:08

Good morning all,

A bit overcast at the moment, but no rain is forecast.

Mick I really think you should listen to your body and have a few days rest at home rather than traipsing about on buses in this heat - you could quite easily bring on another heart event if you don’t rest properly. Excess heat can put as much strain on a body as excess cold. It’s up to you, but really, be cautious for a few more days.

Happy birthday Grammaretto 🎂🎉. Hope you have a lovely day.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 16-Aug-25 10:36:04

I am late to the GM party today, in my defence I have already been to Aldi’s our small Sainsbury’s and the local butchers.

Happy Birthday Grammarerto 🥂🎂🥳

Make the most of having to take things easy Gingster

Sar53 sounds like you are enjoying your holiday in the boat 🛥️

DD and her boys are coming for lunch, the boys want to go into the water for their normal splash and play. No sign of the sun, just very overcast and not as warm as yesterday. The air feels heavy and I can feel a headache coming on, which is not good as the boys will stay here when DD goes to work late afternoon.

kittylester all go in your house ready for your DH’s big birthday bash 🥳

I am now going to have a latte and a croissant 🥐🥛☕️, (the healthy eating restarts tomorrow 😹) 🙋‍♀️

Usedtobeblonde Sat 16-Aug-25 10:42:36

Good morning from a bright Stockport.
I had a very unsettling day yesterday, obviously caused by the heat.
I felt ill towards lunch time so went to lie on my bed.
I fell asleep or half asleep as I had awful dreams , I think I was dying (in my dream) and strange people kept appearing by my bed but wouldn’t answer my questions.
Then I couldn’t see properly and, I didn’t expect to wake up and when I did I felt distressed and full of foreboding.
I stayed upstairs in my room for the rest of the day.
It will be a very quiet weekend for me.
Having got that off my mind I hope if anyone else dislikes the heat that you can stay cool today.

aggie Sat 16-Aug-25 11:15:00

Good Morning from a dull , still and cooler Co Armagh
Had a clear out last week , binned several pairs of sandals, I have got replacements 😉
Keep out of the sun Michael , not that I think he pays a blind bit of notice to our advice !
