Good morning from a dull N. Bucks. Very different to yesterday’s lovely weather. Had a lovely few hours with friends who came to lunch. I made Coronation Chicken with jacket spuds and salads. The chicken was delicious, so diff from the pap from supermarkets.

Today my Sister in Law will be arriving around midday for a two night stay. DH is golfing so we shall visit a local pub/ restaurant for lunch. We’ll probably do some craft work later.

Wishing all a good day especially house waiting for medical results or with other troubles.

Good Morning from Durham. What a change - it’s grey and very much cooler.
A hectic Sunday with DGS2, but DD2 had a problem with her foot (hope the blood comes out of the carpet!) so she must keep a close eye on it, especially as she’s flying to Southampton today - same thing resulted in sepsis 2 years ago! I’ve kept Little Dog to help out.
It’s back to the usual routine of Monday morning coffee with a friend, then there’s a lot of laundry to tackle following DD2’s stay.

Best wishes to all. X

Morning from an overcast S Hants, it’s cooler but no sign of any badly needed rain.
Mr J said he felt lightheaded yesterday when we were out, so I ran him home, I’ll keep an eye today. My friend, in hospital since Thursday has E. coli and needs a nuclear scan to identify the infection location, she’s not at all well, I'm worried.
I hope your grandson continues to improve luluaugust, enjoy your jaunt hollysteers, full of memories!
Voluntary phone today, quiz tonight - possibly without MrJ and ear microsuction mk2.

Bore Da from a cool and cloudy SWWales, though Rhian our weather lady says it may brighten up.
Very quiet week end though we did go shopping and Tesco’s was heaving. We usually go mid week and very early in the morning, so it was quite a shock.
Best wishes to you all.

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Slept for 5hrs solid so that's a little improvement had taken a kalms to try and get back on track with sleeping, hoping it's just the weather causing lack of sleep but feeling very lethargic every day and have no appetite also very weepy.
Washing has just finished and I have another load to put on.
Housework and some decluttering on the agenda.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans, thoughts with FGT and himself 💐.

Good morning from misty South Lanarkshire.

I think today will be spent pottering in the garden, weeding then reading.

I’m hoping that my brother and sister in law will find the strength to come to us today for a little while. They haven’t left their home in the fortnight since their son died and the funeral is another week away.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire.

It looks like the sunshine has deserted us today, it’s still pleasantly warm and dry. As usual we are off out for a walk after breakfast.

What a beautiful garden Marydoll, thank you for sharing it.

Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🌹

Good morning from a cloudy south coast. I thought it was drizzling when I let Peggy out earlier but no such luck.
I need to water the allotment mid morning when the pressure is better than first thing then I’ll do my Aldi shop.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from a grey drizzly S E Essex.

I slept well last night, probably due to the amount of antihistamines I have been taking due to infected bites which had swollen quite alarmingly.

I used my my get up and go to sort out the washing, and start feeding the machine, unloaded dishwasher and then initiated the cleaning programme, removed bottom oven liner which is now in soak. In between I have showered, moisturised and am about to dry my hair.

Off to the gym around 10ish, coffee and catch up with gym pals afterwards (there are three of us who’s children went to school together, so we are school gate friends, then one who I went to senior school with her husband and knew her when she started courting him over 50 years ago)

This afternoon I am taking a leaf out of Marydoll’s book and shall cull the dry goods larder cupboard.

Thinking of all the poorly friends and those with troubles especially my dearest pen pal 🌸

Lovely garden, Marydoll, so different from mine with its beige lawn and wilting borders. I don’t remember that the summer of 1976 decimated the garden as much but perhaps as we were in Yorkshire then the effects were less severe. Will need to rethink the planting when I replace the things which have given up.

Waiting for my lovely young painter to start work on painting the pine dresser which I emptied yesterday. The contents fill four laundry baskets, now stored in the garden room, so it is an essential piece of furniture bought 40 years ago for the last house. I foresee a trying few days ahead.

Good morning all and it has rained during the night here in Essex.
I had to do an emergency visit to the local store for milk. My cuppa tasted nasty and the milk was still in date until 20th. 😡.

Yesterday Dh mowed our tiny lawn and strimmed the edges. —I’m making him— encouraging him to move about more. I ordered him a thingy to stimulate his circulation in his legs and doing his excercises with him. I’m determined to get him fit (fitter). It’s hard work to motivate him. 😤.

Today I’m being picked up by a friend for lunch and we’re meeting another two pals at the restaurant. We’ve booked a pod in the garden which over looks the river. I last went on my birthday and it is a favourite place.

My eye feels a little better each day, still a bit blurry but ok . Not A1 vision, as some people say, after a cataract removal. Oh well, I must be patient, still early days.

FGT stay positive and hopefully good news is on the cards for you both 🙏.
Madeleine you are such an inspiration.
Marydoll your garden looks beautiful and your appreciation is palpable. 🌼.
Enjoy your ‘empty’ Liberty.

Take care and enjoy the day whatever it brings 😉

Gingster Mon 18-Aug-25 09:04:04

GrannyGravy I hope your bites settle down soon. So irritating in both ways. 🤞

Good morning from a cloudy Stockport.
Forecast to reach 20 today so much cooler.

Yesterday my GD had a free day so she suggested we went to Blackpool for a few hours, it is many years since I went.
The motorways were very busy and the place itself was heaving as we knew it would.
They are supposed to be spending millions on it but they can spend billions and it will still be tatty, scruffy and dirty.
We did enjoy, doing the obligatory things like ice cream and fish and chips which were awful.
There was some emergency at sea and we saw the lifeboat return and get pulled out of the sea by tractor and a smaller vessel come in but don’t know what happened , just hope everyone was safe.

Now , good news for me pinged my phone at 6:50 this morning, my second GGD has arrived..
Photo shows quite a good sized girl, her sister was tiny but don’t have a weight yet.

Kindest thought to the poorlies and their loved ones.
Know you are very much in my thoughts.

Good morning from Cambridgeshire well Good afternoon really. I have just had my lunch and caught up with everyone’s posts. I have spent most of the morning in B & Q with DH which is the shop I most hate and impossible to get DH out once in!!!

I seem to have been a little lost in action the past few days but hoping for a calmer week.

MD I did smile at your post having an empty with time to yourself and then without warning they are unexpectedly back, my DH is rather a Captain Chaos at times😂 I would miss him though if he wasn’t here. I love your pics of your happy place your agapanthus are gorgeous.

Thinking particularly of the FGT ‘s I do hope good news is around the corner keep strong and also Susan do hope you are recovering well.

Mick take care of yourself but pleased to hear you are ok.

Madeleine you really are an inspiration I love that you get out and about and enjoy hearing about your trips.

There are happy and sad and difficult times on this thread and sending support and love to all that need a hug today. Keep positive and strong have the best day possible.

Marydoll Mon 18-Aug-25 13:42:01

Grannyivy, I liberated the agapanthus from my daughter's garden, she was getting rid of it. 😰
