Morning to all you grandparents out there! I am “reaching out” (horrible phrase!) as have just returned from a family holiday (paid for by us!) in France and feel quite depressed and upset at how our 6 year old grandson behaved. His parents split up a year ago and we look after him a lot to help our son, as his ex’s parents are too unwell to help. Our son came with him, as did our daughter and baby granddaughter and her partner. Our GS was so rude to me and spent most of the time on his screen. When he stays with us without his dad he behaves better and I can put boundaries in place which he sort of respects but on this holiday he was pretty badly behaved. This is my first post as I am in despair how to handle the situation - if I dare to say anything I get firmly put down by my son and don’t want to upset him. What do I do?!! We are due to help out again next week and I’m dreading it.

Late on here this morning. The sun is out but it is a bit chilly.
Just emptied and then moved ( with DHs help) a large cupboard in the kitchen. Cleaned it out and put all the glasswear, vases, casseroles dishes etc back in. Loads of space now….how can that be?
