Reasonable charge?

Yup.
I paid £75 to have a tap replaced .
I'm supposed to have been charged mate's rates .
Instead I have a leaky new tap .

It's probably about right. The tap will have cost some of that, and there'll be a minimum call-out charge of at least £50, and possibly VAT too depending on the size of the company.

Everything's so expensive now, isn't it?

I suppose it depends where you live but as this was replacing an outside tap and not installing one from scratch, it does seem rather high.

Someone has just replaced my outside tap. Took all of 15 minutes plus new tap. £75.60 he has charged .... does that sound OK? I'll will pay it.... but just wondering.
