Good Morning Everyone ,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Today, I will get the bus to Bicester after some chores, have a chat as usual with people I know.
My health is OK despite weight being up and down,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of cloud and sun. The weekend was far better than forecast, mainly warm and sunny.
Yesterday I went for an early walk in the park where it was still very quiet. The bird life on the Pond looked more relaxed, parental duties have eased off now!
Later in the morning, I got out and cleared up my fruit and veg border. I planted out my little lettuces after finding a huge snail snugged up in their tray. It may have nibbled at them and found them distasteful, they're supposed to find red-tinged ones so. It's an ex-snail now and I'll be keeping my eyes open for any of its friends who may care to join it.
Today I'll tackle the routine housework and laundry then have some essential admin to do. The afternoon will be mainly relaxing with a new book, it's a thick one.

Have a good day all of you if you can.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday we had some heavy showers and it was very windy overnight.
I had a lazy day doing crosswords and catching up with Masterchef. Late in the evening I found a film on iplayer about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Buton, quite interesting with Dominic West and Helena Bonham Carter playing them.
Today I need to do some light housework and sort out clothes.
I can empathise Greyduster I cut my little finger a few days ago, would you believe I caught it in a pill cutter ? The upside is the blade is like a razor blade so it was a clean cut and healed like a surgical incision.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow where it is 14°C.
We gave a flood alert, so I suspect we can expect heavy rain!
I had a particularly bad night, I am not feeling my best this morning.

Babydoll came to visit last yesterday, which was a bright spot in the day.
She has learned to say her full name, but unfortunately we had to listen to it on repeat, because she was so proud of herself.

I need to find a reliable plumber, I'm dreading it, for I know the ceiling will need to come down, in order to sort the leak..
The other way would be to rip up the tiled bathroom floor, much more difficult.
I'm really not up for any of it.

My heart scan has been brought forward from next Friday to this afternoon, it's is in our local hospital thank goodness!
However, parking will be nigh on umpossible.

Wishing you all the best of days. I am very concerned about Blossoming. I had a very worrying message from her, then nothing.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where we escaped any rain yesterday and the same is forecast for today.

I think we’ll probably go to the common in a local town for this morning’s dog walk although I suspect the cafe there will now be on autumn opening hours which will mean it doesn’t open at the beginning of the week.

The pile of ironing is still here, increasing all the time. As it grows I become less willing to do it but today I must!

Hope all have a good day.

Harri, I too have experienced the pill cutter sliced finger!

On Thursday, I some how caught my little finger in the sewing machine. It was right at the side of the nail and would not stop bleeding, due to being on blood thinners.

Perhaps we should start a club.😉

Greyduster, I keep a roll of tubular finger bandages to hand, They can be cut to size and taped with micropore.

All the best with the heart scan, MD. Hope all goes well/to plan. 🫂❤️

Good morning everyone.
September already, the year seems to be whizzing by.
Overcast but dry here at the moment. I think it rained in the night.
Sounds a nasty cut, Greyduster and cuts to finger and thumb tips always seem to bleed profusely. Hope you can find a suitable dressing for it that is easy to do.

Good morning everyone from a rainy south coast. I spent yesterday afternoon making wax melts and the house smells lovely today.
Going over to DD’s for coffee later this morning and I’ll do my food shopping on the way back. She’s back to school this week and away again next weekend so I won’t be seeing her for a while.
I think I’ve woken up with the beginnings of a cold. Goodness knows where I’ve got it from. Maybe just the change in the weather.
Hope everyone has a good day for the beginning of autumn.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It rained a lot last night. I lay awake worrying about roof leaks.

Exercise class and then I should glaze pots and pack the kiln ready for open studios next weekend.
The film last night was part of our arts festival. Called Flight it was about the Scots in Canada where there are about 2 million, and included a performance of the small
pipes and a Q&A.

My helper is still here and she's been mainly working in the garden but I think she expects me to work with her and I really don't have time to show her the jobs.

I hope your heart appointment is satisfactory Marydoll

Greyduster ouch!

Hoping everyone has a good day. There's an R in the month so no more herring. Come to think of it I haven't seen any this year 😕

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 01-Sept-25 09:00:14

at least this cold will definitely get the leaves changing and we shall have the pleasure of the lovely autumn colours and I do love scuffling through the leaves in a wood, so that pleasure to come

Such an evocative thought madeleine which I found strangely calming when I read it just now. You describe the joy in the ordinary so well. x

Morning, late up as we slept in, it’s been raining.
Yesterday friends visited for lunch and we watched the murder club film together, they are terrific company it was a lovely few hours.
Today is our granddaughter Imogen’s 18th, she’s battled the challenges of autism and epilepsy and hopefully now is on an even keel, we’ll see her later.
Voluntary phone and quiz as usual.
Greyduster always takes ages to heal too.

Good Morning from Durham, it’s cloudy and windy with the chance of a shower later. Yesterday’s rain didn’t materialize, although there was a 2 minute squally shower, while the DDs, 25 miles away were deluged.
Last night’s meal and present swap went well, they were pleased with the gifts.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning, then I’ll spend some time in the garden. Still have Little Dog here, so a walk later.
Good luck Marydoll

Best wishes to all. X

It was the content of the message, which concerned me.

All the best Marydoll for your appointment.
I hope you hear from Blossoming

Good morning from a dampish Dunblane. I haven’t been posting much but read everyday. Sorry to read of all the trials and tribulations that some members are having at the moment. Life for us has been very quiet but we are just back from a short break to The Hague. It was very enjoyable just to be away somewhere different. The weather was just the right temperature for me at 20-21C. good for walking about in. Highlight was seeing The Girl with the Pearl Earring but felt that 20€ each for entry into the museum was a bit steep. Maybe being a country bumpkin I am a bit out of touch with city prices. Meeting old colleagues for lunch today we do this every three months, nice to catch up. Hope everyone has the best day they can.

Good morning and white rabbits from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Nice day with sister yesterday. We had a trip out to the Lady Lever gallery, Port Sunlight for lunch and saw an exhibition about the founding of the model village. Very interesting and impressed by Lord Lever. Every house is different and over thirty architects engaged. A bit different to the boring boxes we see today,

Then met up with DS in the city for a drink sitting out in the sunshine. He had his guitar with him and was playing in a ‘gig’ immediately thereafter.
Home to a chicken casserole and a quiet night.
Final full day for my sister here today and a meal booked tonight at our best hotel.
Thoughts to Blossoming and all🌺

Good afternoon, Michael12 and everyone!

One - I know for sure I'm going potty in my old age when a news story came up on my laptop today ''Glam woman leaves restaurant without paying''.

I could swear it said ''Giant woman''!! I had images in my mind of a 7-foot, 50-stoner running out!

Two - Had one hell of a scare this morning!

I don't know what time it was, maybe about 6 am. It had been raining heavily and windy all night, which I love, so I left all the windows in the entire flat open.

My heart went through the roof, I jumped out of bed to find the wind had slammed the bedroom door shut! BANG!

I hope you all scoff lovely ice creams and guzzle mugs of hot chocolate!
