Another light hearted thread to follow on from cushions.

Our coffee table is a huge old thing with two massive drawers, one is full of board games and photo albums the other is……..take a guess!

No prizes for the winner but a big shout out!

I would love to see or hear about your coffee tables.

This is our coffee table, cluttered as usual. It is rosewood with mother of pearl inlay which we collected whilst living in Hong Kong 30 years ago. It is meant to be a statement piece but as you can see it has long been part of the family and is well used.

Love that remark, same here.

Our G plan, 57 years old.

About 50 years ago we bought a table from Lewis’s in Manchester. Long gone, the shop I mean.
It was called a supper table, it was larger and higher than a coffee table.
It had a tiled top.
I loved it but it was rather large. I think the top, it had legs which came off , is in the loft.
It will probably be “chucked” when I am gone.

Mine is an Ercol light oak table from the 1950s that has been restored. Mats made by me. Remote control and paper live here.

We have the oval version, it’s been in our family since it was new, 50s/60s.

They all look fabulous but mine is too cluttered with wool, books, knitting needles etc at the moment. You’ve inspired me to have a tidy up!

I don’t have one but always wanted one. Our lounge has never seemed big enough, my DH always worried about our children, and now GC banging their heads on them.
Youngest and last DGC is seven so maybe not long to go now.

Doodledog Thank you. It's very heavy as the top has tiles on it. Can't remember where we bought it but can't imagine life without it!

I don't have a coffee table but have a nest of tables that come out as required to hold cups of coffee or glasses of wine.
I also have brass table like Witzend and a lovely ornate folding table.

Here's the folding one.

Mine must be about fifty years old, everything around it has been changed over the years but the table remains! It's tidy for a change.

I love your coffee table, Marg.

hollysteers Thu 04-Sept-25 10:17:48

Had this table since the 80s, very useful.

Meant to say hasn't downloaded as the photo took ages to appear!

Marg75 Wed 03-Sept-25 22:20:59

Oops the photo has downloaded.

We bought this when eldest was a baby; it had rounded corners and we could clean the glass top. So it’s 37 years old now!

Reference books on the lower shelf; gardening, local plants and birds mostly. The plant is a fiscus bonsai.

Mine is an old chest that came from my mother's family. It's on casters and is mahogany with brass corners. It's really one of the best pieces of furniture in the house. I store table cloths and photo albums in it.

Doodledog Wed 03-Sept-25 21:22:03

Is yours from Laura Ashley some time ago, Ladyleftfieldlover? If so, it’s the same as mine.

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Sept-25 20:40:08

Chapeau what a treasure.
