Another light hearted thread to follow on from cushions.

Our coffee table is a huge old thing with two massive drawers, one is full of board games and photo albums the other is……..take a guess!

No prizes for the winner but a big shout out!

I would love to see or hear about your coffee tables.

Your secret stash, Sago - your secret is safe with us!

As I think this thread is on its last legs, I will reveal the contents of the drawer!

I’ve no idea why …. possibly Christmas overspill or hiding them from children/grandchildren.

Here's mine, bought from Dunelm last year. I also have a small cupboard unit and occasional tables to match.

My coffee table was inherited from my Dad. It was made by him back in the late 1940s. I can remember, as a little girl, watching him sitting carving the top. Wouldn't part with it.

That carving is beautiful. Your Dad was a talented man!

Mine is all mirrors and glass - needs a lot of dusting but it’s worth it.

Here's mine which is currently being used as a stand for my wedding anniversary flowers from DH on Monday. As I also omitted to put my cushions on the other thread I've included them in this pic too 😁

Oh lovely. Happy Anniversary for Monday 😊

NotSpaghetti Fri 05-Sept-25 07:06:15

Yes, I do too!

Marg75 Fri 05-Sept-25 06:59:14

Love the sofa!

NotSpaghetti Thu 04-Sept-25 23:50:20

Not mine but look at this one.
I think it looks great here.

CanadianGran Thu 04-Sept-25 21:51:45

This has been interesting! I think at heart I am a bit of a snoop, and love to imagine peoples' spaces. I do admire the lovely fireplaces some of you have!

Also wanted to say the 50's and 60's tables have stood the test of time and still look great.

Sunglow12- Look on the new 'clean it,fix it' show(BBC1& iplayer) theres a few hints & tips to restore precious wooden furniture items.Theirs came up a beautiful treat! Can't remember the right episodes but watch them all, theyre only half hour shows.& very helpful.I am going to try them on my coffee table/tv stand, as my youngest son (about 15 then) got a mark on it a week after i bought it,that's never come off.He put one of those drink mugs on that you 'pre-cool' in the freezer, leaving a white mark🙄🤨

Very heavy from Habitat many moons ago but we still like it

My lovely old coffee table in France is made of pear wood and bought for my grandmother in Berlin 1945 bb her second husband . It is veneered and when my sister finally let me have it after keeping it in a conservatory for years and the sun ruining the veneer we brought it here it is a sort of half moon shape . I think we may end up having the top properly repaired but have bought a repair kit to try that first .

Stumpie1 Thu 04-Sept-25 19:08:30

Needs a tidy up!

BeverleyJB Thu 04-Sept-25 18:29:32

Here's mine.

Chicklette Thu 04-Sept-25 17:51:51

Thank you @NotSpaghetti. It’s actually an IKEA rug but we love it as the colours go with other things in our lounge.

Agathe Thu 04-Sept-25 17:33:01

Witzend

We don’t have a central one any more, just side tables. This was bought by my father sometime during WW2 when his RN ship stopped in India or Burma. After the DPs died nobody else wanted it.
The nut-shaped thing is a nutcracker, but not a very good one!
I don’t know why the carpet has come out grey - it’s actually a lightish green.

Brass top with a folding wooden support? Ours comes out at Christmas for the small tree. First time I’ve seen another one.

lizzypopbottle Thu 04-Sept-25 17:22:35

Here's mine. Not very exciting 😂
