Peli you are welcome. Enjoy your sweet potato chips!
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve a mix of grey clouds and sunshine
We arrived home last night after spending a busy few days in Copenhagen. We really enjoyed the city, there’s lots to see and do with an interesting mix of old traditional buildings and new ultra modern designs. So many bikes everywhere that whiz along in dedicated lanes but you had to dodge them! There’s lots of gardens and parks in the centre, canals with many boats and waterside cafes to sit and watch for a while. We were lucky with the weather as it was warm and sunny most days. We could have stayed much longer and explored more, I’d love to go back one day, but it also feels good to be home. Today I’m meeting a friend for coffee before a dance class at the gym - whilst I’m there DH will do a bit of food shopping as we’ve nothing much in.
Hope the building works are progressing well GG 🤞
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good Morning fr MS - sunshine & 32c. More garden work is planned for the morning, but then going to a cafe, for a glass of peach tea to enjoy on the beach.
Grandmabatty: I'm going to copy yr idea for dinner, but use sweet potato for the chips...yum, thank-you for thinking of it! I hope today is happy for all y'all.
Good morning .from a rightening Salcombe.
Yesterday DDs walked for about 3 hours, I stayed and did some watercolour painting. Much to hilly for me.
The afternoon was spent a lively few hours in the sun at South Sands.
We leave for home this morning but will probably stop off somewhere interesting on the way.
A good day wished for all especially those with troubles or illness to cope with.
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire where the heating has come on!
Electrician is coming this morning while I am shopping at the butchers and waitrose.
I gave a pedicure booked this afternoon and then we are going for a curry with DGD1 to catch up on her news. She has just started her A levels and also had a trip to Kenya in the holidays. We love seeing our grandchildren on their own.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from S E Essex, beautiful bright blue sky and the sun is up 🌞
Day 10 of the builders - more plastering, hopefully some outdoor activities.
I am off to the gym, and will linger a while, might drive to Dunelm to look at cushions and throws for the GC’s bedroom.
🙋♀️ take care folks.
Morning Mick, morning All from a dry corner of Somerset
Some very heavy rain showers yesterday before a sunny afternoon. We enjoyed a long chat with our granddaughter hearing all about university plans. She’s so excited. More worrying news about friends came yesterday evening, I’m very sad for them.
Not sure what today will bring. No real plans. See how the roads go later, there may be a wander out.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning from s somerset, sunny today and rain coming after lunch
I had good customer service yesterday, the toothpaste with the allergens. I simply wrote and let them know, never asked for a refund and they immediately refunded me for all of my purchase. I hope they take notice for future manufacturing. I did more research and found some with a simpler formulation, containing the new innovative ingredient. They should arrive today. Got to look after these teeth, they are just about hanging on after the metal-mouth treatment during early years
I almost finished another tacle bag last night, just the leather cording to do today, it has a slip knot. I wanted to use a vintage machine for this as it needs the workout after standing still for months and so far everything is moving. It is extremely heavy so I am leaving it out and it might be for weeks. This machine is the sacrificial spare for my other one, which is in a special machine cabinet with an air lift. You cannot get parts any more. It only took a piece of wax cloth about 50x50cm to make the bag
A small organic delivery will arrive very soon, then I will be off cycling to my allotment. I should think that the time there will be spent on weeding, could be 2-3 hours. I do need to be outside and moving
This afternoon, cutting more bags and also knitting.
Have a good day
Good morning, it’s a tad damp here in south Glos, all very welcome so I’m not complaining. The washing dried and we avoided getting soaked when out so I’m happy.
I took a friend to a doctor’s appointment late morning and had a wander around the next village while there. Today I will take her to the art group she runs, looking forward to catching up with everyone there.
Little else planned except for gardening if it stays dry later.
Have a lovely day if you can 🌹
An early good morning from a clear and dry Northampton, hoping it stays like this all day. Up early because someone from a carpet company is coming at 8am bringing carpet samples and.to discuss fitting a new carpet in the second bedroom.
After that I am thinking of getting the bus over to Rushden Lakes for a day out and a bit of retail therapy. I also happen to have a £25 voucher to spend in M&S...
A day in yesterday with continual heavy showers, so I didn't get to collect my M&S order; I will pick it up tomorrow. Instead I washed the towels ready to hang out this morning, and made a good start on my book club read.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and the sky is clearing. It is dry. GrandMattie I hope your meeting is successful. Bellasnana what a nuisance for you.
Yesterday I had a chiropodist appointment then went to town to buy birthday presents. My local town centre is very poor with so many shops closed and empty. I picked up a polo shirt for my brother and a voucher for my son in law, then birthday cards. Then I went to the book shop and bought books for the boys to read at my house. After that, I drove home and pottered and rested. My feet were very tender so a lie down was had.
Today I'll do an hour in the school library then home as my new blinds are being fitted this afternoon. I'm looking forward to it because the existing ones are falling apart. Cheese omelette and chips for dinner tonight I think. Have a good day all
Good morning everyone from a calm and dry Torbay.
grandMattie: I’m glad you’re having an afternoon nap regularly as there seems to be a lot going on in your life, some of which is stressful by the sound of it. What a kind neighbour to give you flowers!
Your daughters are lucky that you are available, willing and well enough for child and doggy care, Bellasnana!
My dental hygienist was happy with the state of my teeth and gums; she told me I was brave as she did a thorough job of cleaning, prodding, scaling and polishing! She is very professional but kindly and I feel more confident in her ministrations than with her colleague whom I used to see.
Afterwards I did a little shopping including in Dunelm where, after a coffee, I found several items to buy that I wasn’t aware I needed! Having a 10% off voucher encouraged me!
DD2 is due to ring today as she drives to work for the end of the first week of term. I always enjoy hearing the news from her school and the family.
I hope today brings happiness to everyone and relief from suffering to our poorly friends. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is dawning with a forecast of 35°C.
DD3 has a meeting at school this morning so I’m going to watch the boys . I also have an appointment for a haircut so will take them with me. They are usually very well behaved so fingers crossed!
DD1 and her friend are due back from Crete today. They had a hire car so have travelled around and seen a lot of the island. The photos are stunning.
Had a quiet day yesterday just cleaning and pottering. Little dog Bertie is such good company I’m going to miss him. I don’t want to let myself be tempted to get another though.
As I was sitting having a cup of tea some workmen turned up and started digging a hole just outside my window. I asked what it was for.’Street sign’ came the reply. We now have a ‘no left turn’ sign right outside. No idea whose bright idea this was but it’s going to be a nuisance having to go all round the houses now we can’t turn left!
Wishing a good day to all.☀️
Good morning from Bristol.
We seem to have sudden tumbled from reporting the endless heat to the rain (none atm); autumn has certainly come!
Yesterday’s tai chi class gave a tremendous workout after which I had lunch and my daily nap.
I had to be on my mettle as my pc man was calling to fix the problem my printer had. No idea why, but it behaved impeccably, so my lovely man only spent about 10 minutes. We were both delighted, me because it was fixed, him because he likes easy fixes.
I had dinner at DD’s. I had a problem with some tax the council seemed to have been charging me quarterly. After she fiddled around on my bank a/c and the council, etc., it turned out that it was my council tax and paid monthly. Another problem solved.
I was a bit fragile yesterday and burst into tears when my neighbour gave me some flowers. So kind of her.
Today. I’ve got a meeting with the two other residents trying to get repairs done, before the pre-meeting with the whole complex. We want to establish what is going to be said/done before we meet the area manager. He hopes that we shall discuss the budget for next year, but unless we get time/a meeting to air our grievances, we shall hijack this one…. He is well aware of that, and is not looking forward to coming here!
Hair salon this afternoon. Having allowed my hair to get a bit longer this summer, I’m going back to a pretty short cut today.
I hope everyone’s day is quiet and full of little joys.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
