Good morning all and it feels a little chilly but it’s bright here in Essex.

Yesterday I enjoyed my catch up with an old pal , we had a wander around the church where I used to sing in the school choir. A beautiful calm, serene place with friendly people who were keen to chat … and the most handsome , young vicar with the bluest eyes! ☺️.

We then went back to her house for lunch and caught up with all our news. She was 15 when I met her in an office in London .
I was a very mature (not) 18 yr old and we hit it off from the start.

Today Dh has a doctors appointment so we’ll find out results of the blood test. He’s already had one result by phone message, that he has diabetes.

Later I will cull my wardrobe and put summer stuff away.
My autumn door wreath is up and I’ve ordered autumn coloured cushion covers. I love this time of year 🍁🍂. After the heat of summer and before the winter darkness.

I hope the day goes as well as it can Susan 🙏.

Get well wishes to those who aren’t 100%. 🌼

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. It will probably be as yesterday, bright start followed by increasingly frequent showers. By dinner time, it was almost continuous rain.
I'd settled down in front of the computer to do some chasing of a long overdue insurance claim when I saw an email from the company. A decision at last! It wasn't, after months of delay, they actually wanted more info, nitpicking stuff some of which I think to be totally irrelevant. It ruined my mood for the rest of the day as I'm going to have to waste hours of my time on it.
I decided to check out reviews. Lo and behold, I am not unique, there were reviewers with the same experience. It all looks like deliberate tactics, as one said, to make you lose heart and abandon the matter. Well I'm not going to.

This morning I have an early appointment at the hairdresser's. Sadly, she's moved premises. From being handily placed close to my usual carpark, she's moved further out from the centre, too far to walk back to the town centre stores. I really don't want to change hairdressers though.

A difficult day, Susan, I hope all goes as well as it can in the sad circumstances.

Morning all from a damp Devon.

We didn’t do a lot yesterday apart from popping out for a nice lunch and buying petrol. We returned to the holiday house and read. I completed The Ha Ha which I read for my book group. This month’s theme is first novels. This book is based on the author’s experience of having a breakdown at Oxford and spending several months in a Mental Hospital. I then wrote up my review.

We are going to a nearby craft area today. Rain is forecast once more!

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly, rainy corner of Somerset.

We’re forecast heavy showers and very strong wind gusts today. A high tide and strong winds brought a coastal flood warning yesterday evening. I’m not sure I’m ready for Autumn yet.

Todays challenges are to sort my mobile sim contract and try to find the right person at BT to negotiate a new broadband and landline contract. The landline must stay for Mr C as he thoroughly dislikes using his mobile phone. We’ve been avoiding both tasks, needs must now.

As a reward we’ll be out to our local garden centre for some lunch. Nice people, excellent freshly cooked food.

Thinking of susan and her family.

Hope Thursday is gentle with us all.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Nothing planned for today so may continue deleting stuff off the computer, new one has arrived.
SIL I not available to help me until next week as he is off to London tomorrow for a concert at the Barbican.
Thoughts are with you Susan.

It is nothing like how I expected it but I’ve learned to live with it!
Yes Bellasnanna, I expect there will be a good deal of that going on here🙄!

Good Morning from a still, overcast Durham. Rain forecast later. Got so much done yesterday after I left my friends - an day well spent.
I’m meeting my poorly friend today. She has been referred to a dietitian for her weight loss, always an 8, but she has no interest in nor appetite for food.
I’m taking more stuff to the tip, apples to a friend and later, picking up DGS1 from school and then meeting DD2 and DGS2 for pizza and play.
A sad day Susan

Best wishes to all. X

A late morning from damp S Hants, we’ve just had the first shower of the day, more due, yesterday it was heavy rain, then sun.
My thoughts are with you and your family on this hard day Susan

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but showers expected later. It definitely feels cooler in the mornings now, and my winter dressing gown has come out of its summer hibernation.

A morning of pottering, emptying the dishwasher, dealing with the cats' litter tray and mopping the.kitchen floor.
Then a Waitrose delivery over lunch time.
Will probably spend the afternoon reading.

Really enjoyed the cinema yesterday; went to see 'The Roses' and can thoroughly recommend it.

Easy dinner tonight, a home-made macaroni cheese from the freezer. Must get a curry out for tomorrow's dinner.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Morning from wet south Lanarkshire. I’m just waiting for my lovely young cleaner to arrive so I can have another go at explaining exactly what I would like her to do. She is a delightful girl whom I am aware I can’t help treating like my granddaughter, so we’ll probably end up bumbling on, me telling her how I want things, her agreeing and things will proceed as usual.

I hope the family get some comfort from being together Susan, I’ll be thinkingabout you today.

It’s nice to hear about you being so easily with your son Grandmabatty, enjoy your day.

Good too, to hear how you’re ’finding your tribe’ grandMattie, life is so much nicer then. You’ve been brave starting off in a new place and have achieved so much through helping to make life better for other people, I take my hat off to you.

Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Good morning from Shropshire.A mixed day forecast.

Today is my niece’s funeral. It is not until mid afternoon so it’s going to be a difficult time waiting.DD and SIL are driving us which we appreciate as it’s quite a long drive.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻

It is so hard saying goodbye to a loved one. My thoughts are with you and your family today. Many Gransnetters will have you in their thoughts too and I hope that brings a little comfort. 🌺

Good morning from a wet Co Durham.
Just waiting for dd2 to collect me to go sofa shopping. The new ones we got two years ago are not comfortable, a big mistake on my part. DD1 has expressed interest in taking them off my hands. While we’re out I intend getting new bedding as well 😂
Thinking of you Susan, a hard day for you all.

Good morning from West Sussex, where a dark grey sky has turned to a blue and white one - heavy showers and strong wind forecast.

I have a garden visit this afternoon - U3A group member. Fortunately she has a conservatory!

The apple and pear trees at the allotment are very fruitful this year. Apples will store for a while, I hope but the pears need using. DH had a fit of enthusiasm and made a batch of pear jelly. He is very proud of its clarity - it would grace a WI stall. It’s lovely on bread though very sweet. I have some blackcurrant and apple juice waiting for me to add sugar and boil it up to make jelly. The blackcurrants were in the freezer, labelled 2023.

Sar, sorry to hear you are still not feeling great - hope you feel better soon.

Marydoll, it’s great to hear you’ve had such benefit from your holiday.

Susan, I will just add my thoughts for you and your family today. I hope your niece’s funeral will be a celebration of her life for family and friends, as well as an expression of sorrow at her loss 🦋

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

I'm getting SO excited!

Around 2 pm yesterday, I was continuing to pack. I know moving is still a few weeks away, but it's making things easier and quicker for me later.

I'm packing the non-essentials, such as pictures/photo frames, books, soft toys, fluffy throws and other stuff, wrapping delicates in bubble wrap and sealing boxes, etc!

I've donated some things to the charity shop.

Have a good one, all of you!
