Good Morning from a bright, breezy Durham.
Odd jobs at home this morning, then I’m getting my hair cut at 1pm. Must give some thought to my holiday wardrobe. At least I’ve got my case out and opened.

🎂🥂🎁 GMB and Susan’s Mum
Safe travels to those on the move.

Best wishes to all. X

Beautiful autumn morning so will go to oldies’ coffee this morning and bridge tuition this afternoon. I hope I remember more than I did last week!

Hope we all have a satisfactory day with no exhaust drama or worrying problems.

Marydoll Fri 19-Sept-25 08:54:05

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 11°C,

GMB, what an awful thing to happen. The same thing happened to us once on the M8, on the way back from St. Andrew's, with a car full of tired under fives. It was an awful experience. I hope the repair bill is not too expensive, I find local garages often cheaper than Kwik Fit!

Yesterday was exhausting, Babydoll is obviously incubating something. She would not let me out of her sight, even closing the kitchen doors, to stop papa getting him. He is usually her favourite, I am only there to feed, water and change her!
Poor DH was quite upset.

The GP, whom I saw on Monday phoned, but had to call back, because BabyD was distressed. This was so unlike her.
It turned out that GP was asking me to be a guinea pig again for medical students. I asked which condition it was this time, for there are many! 🤣
The GP was amazed that only two days after referring me, I had seen the colorectal consultant. Even more surprised, that I was also having a CT scan.

Later, when I was trying to comfort BabyD, DH handed me the landline. Its about a hospital appointnent, he said. I took the phone, but it was dead,
By any chance were you asked to press 1, if you were me?, I asked.
How would I know, what to do?, was the reply.
It happened again last night, but this time, I managed to answer in time, it was for an urgent phlebotomy appointment, I had a month ago, offering me an appointment at the local health centre!

Just as I was getting into the bath , the kandline rang, The caller said, this is A. My heart sank, DH has an friend, an ex colleague, who phones and is on for hours, I try not to engage with her, especially as she is partial to a small refreshment.
I called DH and said he would be there in a minute. Much to my relief, it was the wrong A! It was the parishioner dealing with curtaingate!!! 🤣
I managed to arrange a joiner yesterday to fix the beam, to support the rail and she was checking all was well.
He was supposed to be fitting it after Brownies last night, but I hadn't the energy after such a full on day.
I shall pop in on my way to Sainsbury's, as the painters are also coming.

I hope OLD has an uneventful journey, Ash, you must be excited to see him.

Thank you all for your prayers, good wishes and PMs, they have heartened me on this difficult journey,
I am amazed at how calm I am. It has been going on for so long, I just want answers.

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans. A special Henton for those with health issues and seeming impossible mountains to climb. 💕

Good morning all from the south coast where the sun is breaking through. The forecast is good so I’m hoping for a gardening day deadheading and cutting back. Washing machine is already on.
Nothing else going on.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Enjoy your special day 🥳

Good morning from a dry NE.
Today should have been a lunch out with my friend but I have no appetite and certainly couldn't drink wine.
Her BIL went for a well man check and was found to have a serious heart condition, hospitalised and awaiting operation.
I know her BIL too because he is late DH's cousin.
Quiet day today.
Happy Birthday Grandmabatty.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's quite mild.

The piano didn't arrive yesterday but it's expected today.

I took a friend to U3A for her first time. It wasn't the most riveting event 😴 However people are kind and gave her lots of info and an invitation to the new members' tea.

I have to do my shift this morning and then I want to cheer up my friend who's staying as she had a shock at her appointment yesterday.

Happy birthday Grandmabatty. Have a great time with your ACs.

Safe journey to Ash's DH and anyone else on their travels.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but dry Northampton. Yesterday was very similar, but quite mild. I started yesterday the other side of the county as I had stayed at DD's overnight after our wine evening on Wednesday.
We had a lovely evening tasting 4 delicious roses, accompanied by a fine spread, but I suffered later with terrible heartburn, which disturbed my sleep. I found that I have somehow volunteered to host the next evening which is in November.

I came home on the bus yesterday, as DD had a meeting in Kettering and couldn't oblige. Luckily there is a bus-stop opposite DD's house, and I can get a bus from there directly into the centre of Northampton; it goes via Wellingborough then all round the little villages, a pleasant journey if you have an hour or so to spare, which I did! Once in Northampton I changed buses and got my usual one home, which stops 100 yards from my front door. And the entire.journey was free as I could.use my bus pass!

I spent part of the afternoon defrosting the kitchen freezer, as it was getting difficult to shut the door. It was all done and ready for my Sainsbury's delivery which was late afternoon.

Dance classes this morning then I shall go to the shops for my top-up shop. Must phone a new gardener when I get home to see if he can fit me in some time before winter sets in. Chicken curry thawing in the fridge for dinner tonight.

Happy.birthday Grandmabatty - have a good one! 💐💐🎁🎂

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast. Just house stuff yesterday, washing, including a light padded jacket given to me by a lovely Italian lady who comes into the music club to listen. I think she is the biggest fan of my songs. The other week I remarked on her pretty earrings and she promptly took them off and gave them to me. Same with her jacket! My refusals were determinedly turned down.
I must remember never to compliment her on anything she is wearing again…

I’m now looking at new material for the opera company I have rejoined. On a practical note, the plumber didn’t turn up and the decorator is starting a day later than planned.
Art group this morning. Lovely print LLFL
Birthday greetings grandmabatty and Susans mum.🌺

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we have grey skies.

Happy birthday gmbatty, enjoy your lunch, sorry to hear about the buggerations with your car though.

I’m pleased you found your ring gMattie, it’s horrible losing something of sentimental significance.

I’ve volunteered to help
With the Climate Action litter pick this morning, it seemed like a good idea at the time!

Later today we’ll drive back to Edinburgh to collect the GChildren and bring them home with us for the weekend. Hopefully the rest will be good for their parents.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a dull and cool Suffolk where I’m about to enjoy my first cup of tea, always the best, and read your posts.

I’m meeting one of my closest friends for lunch today and then I have a hair appt when I shall hear all the latest goings on in our nearest town.

Our lunches are usually 3 hours at least. DH said last night that we’d not have enough time to both talk and eat but I think we’ll manage given that the pub where we meet and my hairdresser are only 1 minute apart.

Hope today is a good one for all and those for whom life is difficult find some comfort.

GrandmaC47 Fri 19-Sept-25 07:52:03

Good morning all and it’s going to be 25 degrees here in Essex today. Very warm overnight too.

I have to pop to the surgery and the pharmacy this morning and lunchtime drinks with friends. Our Parkinsons friend is out of hospital, after 10 days so it will be good to see him.

Happy birthday Grandmabatty. What a day you had yesterday.

Take care all 🍂🍁

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast a warm day with some sunshine. Hope it’s right.

A quiet day at home yesterday. It looks as if a payment I thought I’d made yesterday hasn’t gone through so that’s first job today then some garden pottering. Mr C has a blood test early afternoon, we’ll wander out after that as there are yet more bags to deposit at a charity shop.

Very happy birthday wishes grandmab. 🎈🎂🥂

Have the best day you can everyone.
