Morning from a sunny S Hants, bedding about to be washed, it should dry well, we’re off to the seaside later. I’ll be showing MrJ where my paternal Granny lived, right on the beach where I spent many happy days as a child.
Chicken and sweet potato curry from the slow cooker tonight.

Good morning from a chilly W Kent.
gM beautiful quilt.
After the cancellation of my newly made hospital appointment I have decided I am probably going to have to sort myself out again. I shall start with the lovely chap who sorts our feet out every so often. I guess we slip into a different category after 75
We enjoyed our afternoon with old friends yesterday and and today I am seeing a friend for a catch up., we shall be sympathising with each other as she has similar walking problems.
Best wishes to all
Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it is 9 degrees rising to 17 later.
I am off to meet one of my oldest friends a friendship of over 50 years. We regularly meet once a month now and always lots to talk about about. It is my turn to travel to her so will need to get myself organised.
Lovely quilt GM
Pleased the pain is subsiding Karma hope you have turned the corner now.
Greyduster I feel your frustration when you have waited so long. My bil is a painter and decorator and is always so busy. Mind you I have been awaiting months for DH to start decorating our bedroom, I think I may now have a date for him to begin😂
Wishing everyone a very good day.
Morning Mick, morning All Cloudy just now, sunshine forecast
Enjoyed time with friends yesterday, a delicious lunch was involved. We must have looked a sight, for differing reasons three of us hobbling around while the fourth strode on and ignored us. We’ll next see each other in November for a pre Christmas get together, lots of telephone chats in between.
As we’re considering different furniture this morning will be spent with a tape measure and a lot of muttering. As our not so great minds rarely think alike about these things the temperature could rise!
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Heating back on!
Yarn group this morning and community lunch.
I began a 12 week physio run exercise class at the gym yesterday. I was in trouble for chatting..... she said they were the wrong muscles
Yesterday new plans arrived for my proposed house build which may pass Planning regs. Whether or not I like them doesn't seem to feature.
The new term began last night for Gaelic with some fun prospects. We have to learn a song and prepare a short presentation.
Poor you Grandmabatty 😢 I hate it when I can't sleep.
I'm glad your mouth has recovered
Karmalady and kitty is on the mend.
Beautiful quilt gMattie. Lucky baby!
Are you going to Sicily? Stilllearning. How exciting. Somewhere I've never been.
Hoping everyone has some joy today.
Good morning everyone from the south coast where the cloudless blue sky is just what I was hoping for as I’m meeting my sis-in-law at Denmans garden near Arundel later this morning. It’s an hours drive for both of us so convenient for meeting up for lunch and a catch up. I’ve only seen her once in the seven months since my brother died as I didn’t like to leave Peggy for too long but now I hope to see more of her. We share a passion for gardening so we’ll enjoy Denmans. It’s one of my favourites.
Only three of us were available for the allotment yesterday. We didn’t do much work but sat in the glorious warm sunshine gossiping and drinking coffee. 😎
Hope everyone has the best possible day.
Good morning from Sussex. Sunny and dry, have anxiety after an illness and going for a walk into my home town, hoping it will help me feel better. Happy Wednesday to everyone reading!
Merlotgran, I live not far from Denmans! I like it but traffic noise can be an issue. I prefer West Dean where you can find some peace
it’s sunny here, you will have a lovely day I’m sure!
Good morning all from Glasgow where it is 5°C,
Lovely quilt GM,
That is better news Karma, dental pain can be unbearable.
Yesterday' morning,s meeting with the third year medical students went very well.
They asked me to list my conditions and I only realised I had omitted some serious ones, when the GP prompted me.🤣
The students were amazed when I could rattle of dates and medications from fifty years ago.
Some experiences are so traumatic, they never leave you.
There was much laughter, when asked when I first drank alcohol.
1972 in Glasgow University Queen Margaret Union and it was a sweet Martini and lemonade. So sophisticated, or so I thought.
I was underage.😱
Normally, afterwards, I would go to TKMxx, five minutes from the surgery,
I just wasn't well enough and wanted to go home.
I was enjoying my post lunch doze in the conservatory, when DH appeared.
The lounge TV had reverted back to the rogue router and DH was flapping, because he had lost all the stored programme,
He used to hate asking for help, but now knows, who the expert is in this house. 😉 In five minutes, I had fixed it. 😄
Today, I have a hairdresser's appointment and don't really want have to engage with people or sit in pain.
My stomach has been bad during the night and I am weary of it all..
However, the next few weeks are going to be busy with medical stuff, so I need to go, as I may not get another chance.
Best wishes to all who are struggling and for those on holiday, enjoy.
Good morning from an overcast NE.
Did some housework yesterday and put away all the laundry. Spent hours on and off trying to arrange flu vaccination through the website, still no joy.
My cousin remains in a coma and the only news we are getting from the hospital is " we are keeping her comfortable ". I feel so sad, she has been a widow since she was fifty so no DH to hold her hand.
Today my sister and BIL are going to take me shopping.
Have a good day everyone.
Harrigran life can seem so unfair can’t it. 😔
Hope you can enjoy the shopping.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton; a good forecast for today. One load of washing in the machine.
I have just stripped the bed ready for clean sheets and the autumn duvet, it felt quite chilly last night. Letting the bed air for a while.
Enjoyed a good walk yesterday with the walking group, although I felt chilly, as I rushed out to get the bus and failed to grab a warm enough jacket. I was misled by the glorious sunshine I set off in, only for the sun to disappear and the sky to cloud over and a cold wind to appear from nowhere.
I decided to walk home as I needed to call into the paper shop and pay my very late bill - I am now up to date till the end of October.
Checked my phone pedometer when I got home and had walked well over 13,000 steps and over 5 miles.
Book club this afternoon, which also means delicious cake! 🍰 I may wear the new woollen jacket I spent my M&S voucher on last week.
The last of the chicken soup I made yesterday for dinner tonight.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
A quick good morning, haven’t read the thread, will do later.
All go here and I am struggling with the aftermath of a full blown migraine, complete with sickness. I think it’s down to the s will of wet plaster, paint, dust everywhere and general chaos of the building work.
Just booked my Christmas delivery slot from Waitrose, thank goodness I can amend it when I am fully compos mentis 🤷♀️🎄

Thank you for your best wishes re the tooth and jaw pain, if anything it has made me much more aware of the pain that several on here go through on a 24/7 basis. Such stoic people who get on with life. I do think of you constantly but never really appreciated how incapacitating pain can be. There are 2 at my craft group too. Life is full of lessons and I have learnt a little more, to add to my empathy. Certainly it did not kill me and has made me stronger.
We stand together as a group, thanks to Mick, through thick and thin
I just filled up reading this karma.
Himself has been on Fentanyl patches changed every three days, pregabalin, morphine and 8 paracetamol a day … since mid May. My heart breaks for him. Yes, stoic. A good word to describe him. I truly don’t know how he copes mentally. 💙

Not an easy read this morning as so many have so much to cope with. Such real courage is shown and it puts my own minor problems in perspective. Hope today is kind and the promised sunshine brings some cheer.
FGT and Himself, 💐and ongoing prayers.
A quick morning all from an autumnal West Oxfordshire.
That’s a beautiful quilt GM.
🪻FGTS.
I will be mainly making lemon ice cream today - it’s a family favourite and granddaughter finished it off at the weekend. This evening I will listen to a WI talk on London waterways.
OH has an eye test. I fear he will need a new prescription.
Have a good day.

Flowers are not enough. Hugs from me and as much support as I can send you over the ether

thoughts with you both
Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s a bit cloudy here in Lancashire but sunshine expected this afternoon. I’m feeling pretty good, will try and do some gentle exercises this morning as my room has lots of floor space,
FGT and himself [flowers*
Just came back to see what other posts to read, and now have the small triumph of getting the washing out. The sun is just coming out but could do with a little breeze too but very still right now. Anyway it is out, which is the main thing. Now to plod through half an hour of basic bits, bedmaking etc, and then I shall time myself for an hours ironing, before rewarding myself with getting my swimming bag ready and leaving cares behind me, whilst I creak into the swimming pool and hope I get out a bit better, and then have whist to look forward to. I am going to check at the pool today, previously when you went into the swimming pool with your years ticket, you could come out and use the sauna. It was just open and sometimes there would be 2 or 3 or sometimes you were on your own. It suited me to have a little time in there after my swim and warmed me up. But last time I went after not being able to go for some weeks because of my eye operation the door was locked and it had a notice about seeing the people at reception. So I feel that is another way things are cut down, and now you will have to pay for that separately. dont see why as it is kept at its normal temperature, and those of us in the disabled swimming often cannot try and swim fast enough to keep warm, and it was especially good in the winter time, to let you warm up a bit. But sadly this is the way everything is going I find, so in things like being able to do extra small things such as in the library, now are all priced out of possibility. I am also old enough to not enjoy going to the library as I used to as there is too much noise about. I am not saying it should go back to the deathly silence rules, but computers and phones rule ok now and all their annoying bleeps and dings, interuppt your concentration. I would be happy if they just had a quiet area and a less quiet area but the whole place these days has no quiet corners. Fortunately I still seem to have that teachers stare, where I simply sit and look without blinking at the noisiest people young or old and it does seem to still work to some degree!!
I have radio 3 on of course, and it should be fun this weekend as they are doing a railway journey from Scotland to London, literally by rail, but also playing railway related music so there should be some good Strauss, and hope they play The Night Train Auden , and have that one which I dont remember its title but it is in south america and a little train going through the mountains. (Dont think the old favourite from childrens choice of The Runaway Train came over the hill and she Blew, will be part of it!) I have travelled quite a lot in scotland and sailed all up the west coast and beyond but never yet gone on the train to Mallaig, which I would like to do, but very pricey I understand.Think I shall always have itchy feet, and long distance train travel was something I enjoyed. Once took my brother with me and went from London to Dusseldorf. A great journey, but that was before the tunnel and so of course ferry was part of it. Never done the tunnel , what is the opinion of GN's who use it? Cheaper? Faster , even coming from up here?
Well time is up and reluctantly making my way to the ironing board, which should result in a better selection of tops and underwear to choose from.
It’s horrific to see a much loved person in such pain fht. Hold fast. Love and care to you both. X
