I was getting ready for bed last night, took the lid off my jar of night cream and saw a happy little ghost staring up at me!!
I did apologise before destroying his cheerful little face. I hope he didn’t mind! 😮

Halloween is approaching so watch out for spooky happenings.

Talking of faces, how about this delightful little flatfish’s face, seen a few days ago in an aquarium at the Natural History museum of Cape Cod?

I was in Dunhelm a couple of days ago and found myself singing (quietly) “You're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you…….”.

And then they put the Muzak on and played “You’re so vain……”

And then round the saucepan shelves came the person who had come into my head when I started singing.

I’m still a bit hmmm………..

Spooky face is actually my second ‘happening’.
The other day I was making some wax melts while listening to random music courtesy of Alexa. One of the essential oils I was thinking of using had a distinct aftershave aroma. My DSiL is a Bee Gees fan which wouldn’t be relevant had I not said aloud to myself, ‘I wonder if M would like this?’
At that moment the music changed to the Bee Gees singing, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart? Which happens to be the only song of theirs that I like!

🤔🤔😮😮

I would often sing Toora Lora Looma, the Umbrella song, made famous by Flanagan and Allen a very long time ago, to soothe my GD when she had colic, just as my mother sang it to my children as babies.
I know some of the words but generally make the rest up. When my DH was in hospital recently and was touch and go for a couple of weeks, I dropped into a coffee shop near the hospital with my DD for a break whilst other family members took over at his bedside, and low and behold the song started to play in the background, was a sort of retro cafe so I suppose it made sense. But it immediately made me think of my long departed mum and it felt as if she was with me at my lowest moment singing a song that aimed to soothe and calm.
Is by no means a popular song so was quite remarkable to hear it at that time.

My DH and I are very telepathic. We often know what the other is thinking which can be a bit weird at times. Several times I’ve tried deliberately to plant a thought into his mind such as ‘let’s go to ……… today, only for him to suggest it a few minutes later. At first we put it down to coincidence but it happens far too often for it to be.

I was feeling quite low recently and went for afternoon tea with a friend to a tea garden. There in the corner was a beautiful statue of St Francis of Assisi holding a dove. It was hidden amongst the bushes but it made me reflect on his story and it gave me comfort. Coincidence or guidance from above?!

Same here. It often happens in the evening when I might think of something I fancy eating or drinking, say marmite on toast. DH then says do you fancy some toast? When I say I do, he’ll ask if I fancy marmite on it. Just an example but it happens all the time.

What an adorable little face! Such a pity to destroy it!

TheWeirdoAgain60 Mon 29-Sept-25 09:17:23

AWWWW! What a beauty!

A few months ago, my Tower microwave snuffed it. I'd had it since 2017, so no complaints; it worked very well for me over the years.

It was nighttime, so I thought I'd go back to The Range where I bought the previous one in the morning and buy another one, as I don't cook and never use ovens/hobs; microwaves are essential to me.

It was just as I was getting into my car to go to The Range when a work colleague caught me, saying she has a Cookworks microwave that she's only used twice in 3 years, very clean, perfect working condition, and would I like it?!

A few minutes later, I installed it and it's brilliant! Saved me about £90.00!

You must have sent out a few thought messages😁 what a saving for you!

Oreo Mon 29-Sept-25 10:11:30

merlot I can see how that pattern appeared in the face cream,
It’s two fingers and a thumb grabbing up some of it😄

merlotgran Mon 29-Sept-25 10:23:24

The smile could have been made with one finger, Oreo because that’s how I always scoop up a very small amount as my skin doesn’t need very much but goodness knows where the eyes came from. 😂

Oreo Mon 29-Sept-25 10:26:56

Two dabs of a fingertip?
Look, I want it to be Oscar the friendly ghost as much as anyone😂 but I keep wearing my logical 🎩

This is a very obvious face, however I often see faces in very obscure things. For instance as I was walking up one morning last week I saw a baby looking over my husband’s shoulder…….it was actually a shape from the wallpaper. For a while there it was a lovely baby.

Tell us if he makes a return visit to the pot🤔
