Good Morning Everyone ,
Dark but dry outside and very little wind here in Brackley this morning.
My usual day indoors , tidy up , and relax with cycling on TV later .
Health OK , had three thirds of a pint beers yesterday in Spoons at the Autumn Beer Festival .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a calm Bristol. The wind was fierce yesterday!
After arranging my vegetables for the harvest festival, I had my COVID/flu vaccination at. I was gratified to hear the nurse comment that she too felt unwell and had a sore arm as she gave me both in the same arm. (Photos in a minute)
The rest of the day was spent making soup for my lunch and bread for the church lunch today. I don’t think I’ll stay on as I don’t like crowds and anyway feel rather under the weather.
I showed the greengrocer a photo of his vegetables nicely arranged. He seemed pleased that I had made the effort to show him.
May the mountaineers have a calm day - that’s everyone but especially you fgt and md… 💐

Good morning Mick from a dry but 🌬️ north Wales - glad you enjoyed those 🍻, a change from your normal routine!

I’m enjoying my chamberpot of Yorkshire Gold before braving the weather with a long bracing walk for a paper which will clear my 🕸️!

Gentle hug for Mr FGT (if Herself doesn’t mind 😉) bravely dealing with the cards he’s been dealt 🤗 and thoughts with everyone with similar anxieties and issues, it seems as if all of us on this thread lurch from one worry to another at times, doesn’t it?

Will pop in later, in between laundry loads 🤨, and catch up with you all, holidays and hope in your hearts 💕

Good morning from a dry Torbay where there’s a light breeze.

Brilliant harvest display, grandMattie. What a generous greengrocer.

Thank you, folks, for your kind comments regarding my neighbour who was flooded out. She called in yesterday to collect some items and has been offered static caravan accommodation for up to three months! We shall miss her and her daughters but it’s good that they have the security of somewhere to stay whilst their home is put to rights.

Thoughts with those in need especially Mr.FGT and Marydoll, and a blessed Sunday to all. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from Malta where the high is forecast to be 26°C today.

Lovely photos grandMattie, you did a good job. It reminds me of our school harvest festivals many moons ago.

Had a lovely evening with my two treasures who were happy to have Nana looking after them. They are such different characters but both very sweet and great company.

DD3 and SiL were home by 12.30 but I was awoken at 5.45 am by a message from DD3 saying she was having a panic attack.
I’m not sure what she expected me to do about it but I offered advice as best I could.

I think she wanted me to jump in the car and go over but I didn’t as I’d only had three hours sleep myself and suspected I’d be left ‘holding the babies’ while she and SiL slept.

I shall walk up to the village to get some cash later then Mass followed by my weekly chat with my friend in Leicester.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Beautyschooldropout Sun 05-Oct-25 06:23:21

I'm in Quebec where we supposed to get a high of 27C so dog days weather for the next few days.
We did have a frost advisory last week but I had moved my planters back inside.

Good Morning fr MS, 26c w/ a 70% chance of rain - which will feel great! The blue house in my yesterday photo sets their lawn up as a 🎃 patch each year, & gives the proceeds to charity. Most of the local churches do the same. People like using them outside for decorating! I hope the day is kind to everybody, but most especially to MD, the FGTs & all who are struggling. ❤️

Waving hi to Beautyschool dropout...

Grammaretto Sun 05-Oct-25 06:49:43

Good morning all from my conference bedroom near London.
Although a comfortable room, I hardly slept. I travel back home to Scotland this afternoon. Perhaps I'll sleep on the train. 🥱

DD still has no power in the Highlands due to Storm Amy - but they are resilient.

Hi beautyschooldropout and welcome.

Lovely harvest display gMattie

Thinking of the FGT family.
Hope today is better.

Grandmabatty Sun 05-Oct-25 06:52:53

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. It's breezy as my neighbour's tree is waving about. GrandMattie a lovely display. Bellasnana I hope you can have a nap later!
Yesterday I didn't do much because I was very tired. The bed was stripped and all the washing done and I tidied up the kitchen but that was all. I had a two hour nap in the afternoon and went to bed early. My delivery from Marks arrived and I am very happy with the clothes I bought.
Today I'll hoover and polish and clean the bathroom. Then I'm going to dds for a coffee. Tesco are delivering this afternoon. Other that that, I'll potter about. Ds is going to Munich to a law conference so I'll hear from him later. I'm having steak for dinner which is a bit of a treat. Have a good day all.

Susan56 Sun 05-Oct-25 06:54:06

Good morning from Shropshire.Dark and dry at the moment with sun forecast later.

We had a lovely evening at Tattoo Cymraeg yesterday although very loud at times🙉

Today will be spent doing laundry and baking making the most of the twelve hours free electricity. We probably won’t save much but I can’t resist a freebie!

Thoughts with Marydoll, FGT’s and all having a worrying time at the moment.

Lovely harvest display grandMattie.

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Good morning from s somerset, cool and dry today, perhaps

A good opportunity yesterday to do some tidying in my garage, it was quite warm so I was comfortable, I put large grey foam tiles down when I moved, much nicer than bare concrete. All my squashes are now in there, to complete curing if needed. It feels so much bigger in there at the moment.

My supply of bread flour for winter arrived and that is now tucked away in lock and lock boxes, safe in my ever-colder garage. I really do feel as though I am quite well prepped for hibernation. Nothing is niggling me, no preps that need to be done, all my gardening equipment is washed and put away and I feel as though I have finished earlier this year as is the picking and storing. I am going with the flow and nature is the driver

Two large hypnos single beds stripped and all the bedding is ready to be washed for winter storage, that lot is all pale pink gingham. I turned my very heavy mattress, glad to have a single, I like the other single, handy next to me. Those mattresses have a `use-by` date on them, one was only used for 3 months, one has now been used for the 10 years, so I swapped them some months ago (a very tricky heavy job) and will use that one until 2035

I now have a taupe gingham linen set on the beds and on the spur of the moment set my bed up with the electric blanket underneath the wool mattress- cover. I was glad of that, the bedroom temperature dropped before I went to bed, so I used the electric blanket

Today I do have a lot of washing to do and can get it all on my big rotary drier, I am certainly not chasing after the 1 hour of free octopus energy later, it is not really free and would only mean about 4p to me

The alliums are all sorted and ready to plant, I know the ground is soggy but I may well feel like going to my plot this afternoon. Until then I have washing and more washing plus a nice meal to get ready for myself

Always thinking of FGT

Good morning from the Peak District, I hope you all have a
peaceful, happy Sunday.I had my Covid/flu jabs yesterday….I feel fine,no ache in either arm.It will be nice not to get wet
walking dog today!

Marydoll Sun 05-Oct-25 07:20:20

Good morning from a dark windy Glasgow, where it is 10°C,

GM, I misread your post and thought you were going to post a photo of your painful injection site,
I am an eejit! 😂

Bienvenue, beautyshooldropout,

Yesterday was spent in my jammies, I couldn't nake the effort to dress. DH was quite concerned, because I never do this,
Today is prep day for tomorrow, I'm not looking forward to it. I am somewhat confused, having different instructions from the original hospital and the one I will now attend.

I have some paperwork to review for the church restoration (as usual I have procrastinated) and then I will settle down to read the Sunday papers --probably in the loo-.

Thinking of the FGTs and the difficult days ahead,

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Greyduster Sun 05-Oct-25 07:29:42

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it still seems to be blowing as hard as yesterday. I stayed in all day, finishing off hanging pictures, and making the place look homely again. I seem to have lost some photographs that usually sat on my dressing table. Can’t remember where I put them but no doubt they’ll turn up. I made a slow cooker full of beef stew, most of which will go into the freezer.
No idea how today will turn out. If the weather calms down, I’ll go out.
Have the best day you can, folks.

luluaugust Sun 05-Oct-25 07:31:48

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Covid and flu jabs yesterday, painful arm this morning. My arthritic hands are playing up so I can’t imagine a lot will get done today apart from cooking lunch.
Lovely veg display gM
Thinking of the FGTs and MD
Best wishes to all

Redcar Sun 05-Oct-25 07:32:04

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dry and bright here but still quite windy. I had my flu jab yesterday morning with very little ill effects thank goodness. The Covid jab is on Tuesday morning, fingers crossed that won’t cause any problems either.
DD2 came over in the morning with the granddaughters, their dad was coming back from Yorkshire where he’d completed a very wet and windy three peaks challenge.
We all went to DD1s for dinner in the evening, it was comforting to all be together as my godmother had passed away on Friday night. She had been in hospital since Monday but until then had been managing quite well at home on her own. She was 100 and a popular member of her village community.
I’ll have a quiet day today, I need to clean and cover my garden table and put the electric blanket on the bed!

That’s a lovely traditional harvest display grandmattie.

Thinking of those in distress today, I hope life gets less anxious for you.

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.

Georgesgran Sun 05-Oct-25 07:34:12

Good Morning from Durham. Still very windy here.
Went to bed early last night as I couldn’t get my back comfortable - of course, I’ve been awake and just dozing since 3am.
DD2 is bringing DGS2 here later - I haven’t seen him for 2 weeks as I was away. I bet I see a change in him.

I was sorry to read FGT’s post about himself’s health. 💐 and for MD too.

Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 05-Oct-25 07:49:57

Morning all from Went Oxfordshire.

First, I’m thinking of MaryD and her travails. I’m also pleased that the FGT2S had such a lovely time at their daughter’s place.

It is my sister and brother in law’s final day with us. They are flying back to Australia tomorrow after 6 weeks away. Elder son and his family and my stepfather are coming over for lunch. I’m glad to have done much of the preparation in advance. I took everything out of the freezer yesterday to defrost - chickens, stuffing mixture, bread sauce, Yorkshire puddings and chocolate bread and butter pudding. There are also a couple of ice creams. All that is left to do is vegetable peeling and my sister and OH will do that. Granddaughter always likes setting the table.

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone. I have to say that I’m disturbed by what is happening in the USA at the moment. It all seems fantastical.

brook2704 Sun 05-Oct-25 07:52:07

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey clouds, hopefully much less windy. Storm Amy was very fierce and caused a lot of damage but thankfully we’ve still got power.
Hoping all goes ok tomorrow Marydoll 💐
A call with DS this morning to catch up on all his news and then later we’re going to DD2s to celebrate DGSs 12th Birthday. He’s my eldest grandchild of 4 and growing up so very fast. He just wanted some money for his birthday and some chocolate so nice and easy to arrange.
Safe travels home gramaretto hope your DD gets her power restored soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

RosesandLilac Sun 05-Oct-25 07:53:20

Good morning, the edge of the storm seems to have passed now, it’s calm and dry here in south Glos.
It was decidedly chilly yesterday, I needed gloves on for the dogs’ walks and I should have worn a warmer jacket.
More of the same today, pork and apple sausages with cider sauce, mashed potato and vegetables for dinner, I don’t feel like the faff of doing a roast and I did make the suggestion of going to the pub ……
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

ginny Sun 05-Oct-25 07:58:28

Good morning all from N.Bucks. I slept better last night, my shoulder was not so painful and has improved this morning.
Still at DDs, the kittens are very amusing but two very different personalities , just like our two human brothers !
Will potter around, family not due home till early afternoon . Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 05-Oct-25 08:05:57

Good morning from a warm sunny España, it is going to be another beautiful day of 29°

No plans, other than scouring the internet for sofas and chairs.

Wishing you all a restful day and a hello to Beautyschooldropout

Big hugs penpal 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Sun 05-Oct-25 08:15:39

Morning from a dry, calm, chilly S Hants, it was gusty yesterday with squally showers.
Welcome Beautyschooldropout.
Safe journey back Grammaretto.
Daughter and grandchildren here today for lasagna which I’ll ‘build’ later, a walk, then meat draw.
