Good morning Mick and all GN's from a very dark morning, cannot even see the tree against the sky, in North Yorkshire.
The washer is chuntering away in the background as I was up very early again. My plan was to just put the stuff in the washer and start it and go back to bed and at least have a bit of a rest if not sleep again after rather a busy day yesterday. Ah, best laid plans of mice and men! Checking in the cupboard , thought I had another bottle of liquid soap for washer but nothing there, so looked at the back and there was some washing powder, which I hauled out to use, with a mental note to get more stuff today. Hah, as I looked in to see if there was enough for the wash now, the bottom promptly fell out and the whole lot of the powder then decorated the floor, my slippers and dressing gown, so had to sweep that up as best as I could manage with long handled broom, and will have to clear the floor up a bit more later when I am able to bend more!! Oh well , managed to salvage enough for this wash and will get some more things today.
I am going to read todays posts and then go back to yesterday to see what I missed as I had a long day, going down to the designer outlet in the south of York. Journey down was going reasonably well until near the ring road, where the dreaded roadworks managed to clog up a fair distance , so with traffic lights to pass them, heavy traffic etc it took me about 1-1/2 hours instead of about 1 to get there. Was anxious that they had not given my buggy to someone else as I had not turned up at the agreed time, but it was fine. I really couldnt manage without it now. It was such a long time since I have been down that I had to reaquaint myself with the layout etc. I am making a note that they have a quieter day on tuesdays for the future. I much prefer it like that, they do 2 hours of very little announcements, no loud music etc, for autistic people, but of course we all benefit from a bit more peace and quiet.
The staff there were very pleasant and I filled in their form etc and a pleasant surprise. My birthday is in July and I was aware that they gave you a discount for your birthday, but of course much later now. However found that it was valid until 10 October, so got a little off coffee prices, but wasnt able to get anything else off as despite a good look round, got no clothes at all from M and S or anywhere else. So the main point of going came to nothing, however I did get a really good offer on a duvet with 2 pillowslips that was already reduced by 20% in their sale and I got a birthday 10% off too, which was cheering. One or two other small things but it let me sort of catch up and remember where places where and then I got off about 4.30pm to avoid hitting much of the traffic, so that I got home in time to have a quick bite, chuck the shopping down and off to the games night. I knew if I had sat down I wouldnt move. Worth the effort, another new game to me, but I worked in with Racheal, who is a very experienced player, and this allowed me to concentrate on the basic ideas and rules, while she was able to see more advanced possibilities to do, and was more aware of what other players were doing, so only really got home just before 11pm, and ignored the slung in shopping and went to bed. Hence this morning I am trying to catch up and restore some semblence of order today.
We have quite a good idea here, which I think they have been doing for 2/3 years of a restaurant week. All the restaurants taking part agree to a 2 course for £20 or three course for £25, and some do lunch and others both lunch and dinner. So at lunchtime today my friend and I are going to try a place that we have been recommended , but looking at their menu, the prices really added up. So this is going to give us the chance to try it, which of course is the name of the game. If it turns out to be very good, I shall put it into the "treat" group, so even if out of my pocket level normally, can bepart of the birthday - whatever occasion - for the future.
The autumn colours round here seem to be in sort of bursts. As I came home yesterday I would pass a couple of trees in glorious technicolour but a few miles further on no sign at all of anything other than green. So todays plan is to tidy up and enjoy our meal and then this pm do some sorting before gadding off to whist tonight. What it is to have such a full calendar!!
Must go and investigate clonking sounds from washer. Will come back to today and yesterdays posts and catch up with all your doings. Hope you all have a good day
