Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley , what I have noticed is a slow start to autumn with trees not shedding leaves as in the past , climate etc playing a part .
Usual routine today after breakfast ,some Tv , before i get the bus to Bicester , chatting to those I know .
Health OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from cloudy and dry Lancashire. MrB and I have been out for an hour’s walk this morning, it was quite mild and we really enjoyed it. We have had some good news, the stairlift people rang yesterday and said they would be doing the work on 15th October. This morning they rang and said they will be here on 14th October. I will be relieved once it’s in place, as will MrB, who worries a lot.
Wishing you all the best day possible, sending love and healing thoughts to all who need them 🌹

Good morning and we’re just back from the Stroke Clinic.
DS1 picked us up at 8 and it took us an hour due to school traffic. We were home in 15 minutes.

A positive session with the Stroke Nurse who put dg’s mind at rest regarding his recovery. Tiredness is very common and lacking confidence with walking out is another. Everyone tells him ‘you must do your excercises morning and afternoon for the rest of your life’. They are referring us to a physio.

This afternoon I have a specs savers appointment. I’ve had to cancel lunch with a friend. Too much going on. I’ll rebook.

Take care all 🌻

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast. My singing was ok at the music club yesterday despite my sore throat and it seems to be moving off🤞
Usual lunchtime recital today and opera co rehearsal tonight. My DS is borrowing my car for a day having a gig in the Lakes. I’d prefer him to have a car to his motorbike, which worries me, but that’s his love… He’ll arrive here late tonight after my rehearsal, so I’m having a quiet morning to prepare for the busy day.

Thoughts to FGTs dragonfly and all🌺

Good morning all from a dark Glasgow, where it is 11°C,

Thank you all for the lovely posts yesterday.

Yesterday, it was lunchtime, before I remembered that it was DS2's birthday. I gave him his gifts at the weekend, ut yesterday, I was away wi' the fairies. 😂

I felt awful, really groggy and unwell and had hoped for a quiet day, enjoying my relief at having a diagnosis, after such a long time.
As usual, that did not happen.
The chairperson of the fundraising committee had a pimched nerve and couldn't use a mouse. Unfortunately all the paperwork was on her laptop, but she needed to print it out.
Foolishly, I offered to print it out and ask DH to run me up to church. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Our new router has been absolutely useless, I couldn't access the Cloud, where I too, had the materials stored, my PC wouldn't talk to the printer and when it did, the printer kept jamming. 😡
It took only twenty minutes to arrive at church, deposit the paperwork and return, the least time, I have ever spent in church.
The P,P, messaged me to advise me to keep a low profile, I explained I must have succeeded, because although he and the curate were at home, they never noticed me sneaking past the kitchen window, 😂

I spent the rest of the day, resting, apart from making savoury scones for the beef cobbler which had been previously frozen in case I didn't feel up to cooking.
Also, at long last, I fixed the speakers on my PC. All the diagnostic testing failed to show the fault. It was only when I was trying to clear the paper jam for the umpteenth time, that I noticed the plug wasn't fully in the socket.😂

My working day has started early, with a voice message from the Chairperson. She keeps writing policies, without checking nor realising that we must follow Diocesan policies. Now I will need to do some research.
This lady is formidable, with a high level post in the Civil Service, she forgets we are volunteers and actually have a life outside of the Church.
However, I too am a scary formidable lady. 😉 Perhaps not so scary at the moment, I don't have the energy!

Hoping for news from Dragonfly and FGT, 💐
Well done Blossoming on getting out and walking, ♥️
Ash, how is your young neighbour getting on, I have been think about her,

If it stops raining, DH will go out and collect the windfall apples and I will make crumbles for the freezer if I am up to it,
I never know, until I get up, how I will be..

Have a good day folks,

Good morning from N.Bucks where it is cool and dry.
Today DH andI are taking a trip to Upton House(NT) in Warwickshire. We’ll see the house and there is also a sculpture event in the garden this month. Let’s hope the rain stays away. No doubt lunch will be part of the day too.
Hope today is a good one for all especially those who are struggling in any way.

dragonfly46 Wed 08-Oct-25 08:09:09

Good morning from the East Midlands where it is bright. Thank you so much for all your best wishes yesterday they really helped. The outcome was that DH is to have major surgery on his liver on 18th. As you can imagine I am pretty nervous.
I hope Mr FGTs chemo went well yesterday, having been through it myself I can sympathise.

Sending love and best wishes to you all.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and grey Northampton, hopefully a bit of sun this afternoon.

Washing on the go already, may do a second load if I have time, then I shall be up to date. It all dried nicely yesterday.
A pleasant walk in good company yesterday and a good turn out, 24 walkers, but we split up into two groups to accommodate different abilities.

Have been recommended a plumber to supply and fit a new shower in my en-suite; he sent me a quote yesterday which I am happy with, so I now await a date.

Early lunch today, as I have a dental appointment for a filling this afternoon. Hope the dentist is kind....

Bolognese for tonight's dinner is thawing in the fridge.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

GM - I live 20 minutes from Denham and attended several residential courses there as well as day schools. Such a shame it closed. It is now a private house.

Today I will be mainly helping OH fill around 100 jars with honey and put labels on. We are hoping to go to a car boot sale on Sunday.

It is the Local History Society this evening. It doesn’t sound particularly interesting so I may listen to a talk on London’s Royal Parks instead.

Have a good day. I’m thinking of the FGT2S and MaryD.

Good morning from a calm dull Suffolk where autumn seems to be happening in some parts and not in others. There is a bumper crop of conkers in the churchyard but they are smaller than usual.

I have my keep fit class shortly followed by coffee with 3 fellow attendees. It is GS1’s 16th birthday on Saturday so I’ll need to visit the post office later to post his card and a small present. We find that teenage GC usually when asked prefer money so we’ll transfer some into his account for him to discover on Saturday.

Hope all is well with FGT and Himself and MD had a restful night after yesterday’s visit. Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. An enjoyable morning yesterday with 5 of us turning up to U3A art group. Today a DF coming for tea we chat about anything and everything
DGS4 is starting a new job today we all have our fingers crossed for him after he was so ill earlier this year.
Best wishes to all

Georgesgran Wed 08-Oct-25 07:50:46

Good Morning from Durham. It’s overcast, but not a breath of wind.
DD1 has Covid - her 3rd time, so I’m instructed to keep clear!
I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning. She had polyps removed from her throat and is awaiting results. Another friend had worrying news about her heart on Monday and has an appointment today to discuss that. I should be grateful to only have sciatica - but I’m not!
We lost 3 working Springers in a 6 week period karma - all different issues, but so traumatic. Poor DH was heartbroken, but they’d had good lives.

This afternoon, I should try and collect the windfalls, if my back permits. Time to do my tax return, perhaps, if not?

I hope MD has a plan of action to tackle her new diagnosis, thankfully not the big C. Meanwhile FGT’s dear man continues with whatever treatment can be offered. 💐

Best wishes to all. X

‘We have had some’ not sure where the lambs came skipping in from !!

GrannyIvy Wed 08-Oct-25 07:32:24

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it is 13 degrees rising apparently to 18 later. You are right Mick the trees are holding on to their leaves here as well, lovely autumnal colours. Some of our most enjoyable walks are at this time of year.

Today I’m going into Cambridge with DD2 and I have a reward voucher for free coffee and cake for 2 in the John Lewis cafe which I am sure we will enjoy using!

Our decorating didn’t start yesterday DH had other ideas and disappeared into the garden all day but I’m hoping progress will be made today. I think I’m best staying out of the way. My job will be clear up any mess later 😂

Have a good day everyone

brook2704 Wed 08-Oct-25 07:23:47

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still dark but looks dry outside
I’ve quite a busy day ahead with a little bit of everything, a quick volunteering session, a gym class, a walk and the dentist. I’ll get the bus home late afternoon
So good to hear Marydolls news yesterday and hope all went as well as it could for Fgts DH
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
