Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside here in Brackley this morning , I've noticed the leaves on the trees do not seem to be falling as fast as in the past ,maybe a nights frost will help it.
The usual routine for me with the bus to Bicester ,shop and say hello to those I know .
Doing my own Fish & Chips in the air fryer at lunchtime .
health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Friday 10th October 2025
(51 Posts)Good morning from M5. On our way to Heathrow.
Quite mild and dry.
Hugs to all. Carpe diem 🦩
Have a lovely time grandMattie
Good morning from Malta where we have a sunny day ahead with a high of 26°C.
Today marks nine years since my eldest sister died, it’s also her eldest son’s birthday. I miss her so much. She was my best friend all my life and I still struggle without her.
Nothing much to do today as I did everything yesterday. I do have a hair appointment for a colour this morning so will enjoy getting my grey roots covered up. I had enough grey hair during Covid to realise it does not suit me!
I’m thinking of grandMattie with her very early start this morning and hoping her journey to Malta is a smooth one.
Hoping the day goes well for you all.☀️
Good morning early birds from dark and dry north Wales where I’m about to enjoy a chamberpot of Yorkshire Gold ☕️ while catching up with yesterday’s posts!
How lovely to be off to Malta grandMattie - we didn’t have the best weather in March but certainly made extra efforts to go and see some stunning places and enjoyed the Sunday market at the bottom of the island - Bellasnana is a lucky lady 👋
Good to read of Miss MDs news - let’s hope for more for t’others with challenges 💐.
Welcome to the newbies Ive spotted, no doubt I’ve missed some 🤨 - this thread is the loveliest start to a day, reading about the busiest lives (Karma, Madeleine pack so much into every day) and the rest of us who veer between overload and not-a-lot!
Some finances to be sorted today and food prep for the weekend - peace at PG Towers is good 🙏
Good morning from a calm and fine Torbay.
Safe journey, grandMattie, and happy landings.
It sounds like you had a beautiful relationship with your sister, Bellasnana which is to be treasured.
Our plans for a breakfast at our favourite pub yesterday didn’t come to fruition so we shall go today instead. However, we did complete all the other planned tasks and my car certainly looks better for the thorough cleaning it had. The alloy wheels are gleaming thanks to the special product they brush on them as part of the process.
We bumped into the director of Its A Wonderful Life in the Dunelm café so we joined her and her husband for lunch. She is suffering from the all too common problem of folks accepting principal rôles then dropping out if something more interesting comes along, usually a part in panto at this time of year. Young men are particularly prone to this tendency! They know they are in demand.
Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Morning from S Hants, no idea on the weather, still dark, but dry I think.
Happy Holiday gMattie.
Last scan at the dentist yesterday, then I made a Dr appointment, I filled in an econsult at 1pm, by 2:30 I’d been seen by a GP, issued a prescription and in the pharmacy, very efficient.
I’ve pasta sauce to make later, swede to cook and freeze, the root veg season is here.
Pub tonight.
Have a pleasant day all.

Good morning from a very dark but dry E.Devon.
I’m off bright and early to do a supermarket shop. I like to do this before it gets too busy.
Take care.
Good morning, I have no idea what it’s like outside, here in south Glos.
Have a wonderful time in Malta with Bellasnana grandMattie and enjoy your very well deserved holiday in the sun.
Misery Me here, my back is agony, the pain is barely touched by painkillers. I did phone the surgery but as I can barely move so getting there is completely impossible and they don’t do home visits any more. The two very part time doctors are working to rule, seeing or contacting only 20 patients per day, and each works 1.5 days a week with no doctor there on a Wednesday. Dreadful service.
Fingers crossed it’s better tomorrow!
Thinking of you all 🌹
Good Morning fr MS, sunshine & 30c.
Pantglas2: Snap! - only I drink Yorkshire "Biscuit" as I read thru all the posts.☕️
Good morning all it’s been a while but I’m back on again. It’s getting colder now and winter is coming it’s been very windy these past few days here on the east coast of Fife.
I did manage a trip with my carer to a place called Anstruther aka the east neuk. We had a picnic sitting in her car looking out on to the harbour, lots of tourists are still walking around, some with their dogs. Anstruther is famous for the best fish and chips and icecream, it’s really beautiful here in the summertime why don’t you give it a go. The photo of me with my husband is a memory I had many years ago.
Have a good day my friends keep safe.
Happy holiday GrandMattie
Bellasnana 💐
Hope everyone has a good day.
RosesandLilac: How horrible for you - I hope the worst of the pain eases soon🌸
Good morning everyone from dry cloudy and mild mid essex.
A disturbed night, mainly for bathroom visits. I’ll have a quiet day at home today. Only a possible visit from DD2 this morning and an Ocado delivery this afternoon. One load of washing is churning away, with another to do later.
Have a lovely holiday grandmattie.
Thoughts as ever to all our poorly or worried Gransnetters.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a dark but mild Black Country.
Felt really rough last night, so went to bed at 9pm, and not long woke up. Still feel tired though.
Lovely walk yesterday along a local canal to Kinver. Then cafe stop halfway round in the village. There were 17 of us.
Meeting DGD2 (17) in her lunch break in town today, as she goes to our local Sixth Form College. Will treat her to lunch, and give her birthday cards for SIL (her Dad) as it's his birthday Monday. My DD's husband will be 52!
Have a lovely trip gM
Bellsanana
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and dry with an ever brightening sky. GrandMattie safe journey to Malta. Bellasnana your relationship with your sister sounds like a lovely one. Jaxjacky swede is one of my favourite winter veggies.
Yesterday the hedge removal men turned up. They were in the area so just got going. Not long after that, my aunt appeared. It was lovely to see her and she was very appreciative of the changes I have made. She and my uncle had a nice time in France. Then it was off to Stirling to my art class. For one reason and another I haven't been since last year. I started a painting of an allium head, so we'll see if I want to continue it next week. I might do a pastel instead. I returned home to find the leylandii is gone and they uncovered a fence in the process. I'll chat with the boss about whether it can be saved or not.
Today I'm off out with dd. We're going to look at Christmas stocking fillers for the boys and other Christmas related stuff. Then have a coffee. Dd, like me, enjoys being organised. The rest of the day I haven't planned. I will definitely try to sort out the dining room. Maybe if I say it often enough, I'll actually do it! Have a good day all.
rosesandlilac I sympathise with your back and doctor problem. I’m also suffering from severe back pain and finding that painkillers barely touch the pain. My doctors are also difficult to contact and from previous experience find them fairly unhelpful. I hope that you can get some relief soon. I find a warm heat pad helps a bit!
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is just rising and we are set for a bright day. I have done nothing but sneeze since it opened my eyes but I know it’s a form of rhinitis and not a cold. Yesterday the walking group had a lovely toddle round the woods and then I ate lunch with DD, watching the blue tits inspecting her very posh nesting box. I said not to get too excited as they probably won’t be able to afford the deposit on such a desirable property! I called in on my niece and her lovely little dog on the way home.
The chiropodist is coming this morning, and this afternoon I have a volunteer session at school. There’s a new element to the school timetable this year which means I finish earlier than usual.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks dry
Bellasnana 💐
Safe travels and enjoy Malta gMattie
I’m on the late morning flight down to Luton and then onward to Cambridge to stay with DD1 and family this weekend. So much looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up on all the news
Really good NHS service for Jax but not so good for Roses, hope your back is a bit better soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning. Overcast here in N.Bucks I don’t know what the forecast is.
Feeling a bit down as both our lovely Sons in Law have had hospital appointments which have not resulted in in good news.
Today I have an appointment at the hairdressers and then across the road for a free facial, that’s a treat.
I’ve to pick up a prescription for myself and then do a small food shop for DD3 who has been away with work all week and has a very busy weekend coming up. She rarely asks for help so I’m pleased to do it.
Out for dinner this evening with friends and we have some plans to sort out.
Thoughts with those who have problems and illness to deal with . Hoping today is a gentle one for everybody.
Good morning from Shropshire.
Another day of plans postponed today.I had a call from the hospital yesterday asking that I attend for an echocardiogram today.Feeling a tad worried as I haven’t spoken to a dr at all and thought I was getting better and finished with the hospital visits for now😢
SIL having surgery today so 🙏🏻 all goes well.
Bellasnana💐
Roses I hope your back improves today🙏🏻
Jax have just added swede to the shopping list.Yum.
Thinking of all our mountaineers and wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻
Ginny💐I’m sorry you have had bad news and hope for good outcomes for your SIL’s 🙏🏻
Happy anniversary kitty and your DH🍾🥂
Good Morning from Durham. There’s a beautiful autumnal apricot glow across my garden. Definitely cooler today.
After some disappointing news yesterday, I’ve decided to put my rental house on the market - meanwhile, it means considerable expense. I spoke to an Estate Agent and meeting him there on Wednesday. Not the best time of the year, but I’ll give it a go.
Today, DD2 are I are car hunting again for her. It’s Motability, but her needs are such that it’s a question of working through the affordable shortlist - some of the down payments are eye watering, especially as she must have an automatic transmission. I think today is decision day.
Enjoy Malta *gM
Hoping MD has a better day and that the after effects of MrFGT’s new chemo are manageable over the weekend.
Best wishes to all. X
Thank you Susan both could be quite life changing for them. We’ll all stay positive and hope for the best outcomes.
