Hello Mick I have been discombobulated without your GM thread.

Enjoy your Saturday, however you are spending it 🙋‍♀️

Ashcombe Sat 11-Oct-25 14:32:15

Thanks for opening up, Mick. I hope you find a few others who haven't given up hope!

We're busily sorting out in preparation for our journey to Portsmouth tomorrow in readness for the early ferry to France on Monday. DH found himself with an extra DIY job when the rail in a built in cupboard collapsed under the weight of the clothes hanging there!!

Happy weekend, everyone!

Good afternoon Mick and all who follow.
I missed GN this morning.
Had a phone call from the estate agent asking if I could agree to the moving house date proposal by my buyer. Had to make a couple of phone calls regarding this.
My friend came for coffee and I've had some soup for lunch.
I need to go to the shops for food.
As moving day is getting closer I'm more or less shopping for only what I need. Not stocking up.
Hope you all have the best weekend possible according to your circumstances. Thoughts are with those for whom life is difficult. flowers

Hello Mick. I think you’ll find quite a a few of us on a ‘what have you done thread’.
Be with you tomorrow.

Good afternoon all from Polmont where it's sunny and 16°. Safe journey ashcombe.
I have had a painful start to the day but kept busy.(Feet and hips) The washing is all done and I've been to Aldi. More importantly, the fence work is complete and they have made a great job of it. I'm watching Hercule Poirot and doing a spot of housework in the advert slots. Dinner will be mince and tatties. Enjoy the rest of the day

Hello Mick! This lurker wanted to say thanks for your efforts this morning.

Good afternoon everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy again and cool. I’m missing the sun!
Good to see Good Morning back up and running again, I was blaming the update I’d just done last night!
DD1 & her DH came over with the dog and my son in law extended my support for windows 10 for a year, but I’ll need to get another computer next year to take windows 11.
I managed a little ironing after they’d gone but haven’t done much since as my back is very uncomfortable (to put it mildly). I’m very fed up with it, but know it will improve in time and patience!
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Good afternoon Mick and everyone else. I did post on the what have you done thread earlier. I’m down in Wiltshire visiting friends for a few days and we cycled to Bath from Bradford on Avon. Two stops one for a beer by the canal and another for a Marshlands ice-cream. 23 miles recorded! Just back now and the sun has decided to break through. Typical!! We are off for an Italian meal later. The trees down here are gorgeous colours it was such a pretty ride out. Hoping to visit Dyrrham park tmrw for a walk.

Have a good afternoon/evening everyone

Good afternoon to you Mick.
Normal service to be resumed tomorrow we all hope!

Good afternoon all

Quite a dull and grey day here today in the Black Country.

I had my flu jab this morning, and apparently I am not eligible for Covid jab as I am under 75, in spite of having asthma, they have taken that criteria off eligibility! I had the Spring Booster one, but have changed ruling now.

Then I had a wander around town to buy a few bits and bobs. MrJ has been given a load of apples so going to make and Apple cake(s) and apples sauce tomorrow.

Just finished moving summer clothes in boxes into the loft and bringing some winter clothes down.

Wishing you all a good Saturday evening

Good afternoon all, I am very glad to see you! It’s turned into a pleasant Autumn afternoon after a chilly grey start. We are just back from a lovely riverside walk and the sun has come out to greet us 😎

Good afternoon, Michael. I missed you this morning - felt quite bereft without this thread!
DS and DiL have just left after spending the day here. He rehung the curtains so that I can now finally move back into my bedroom. We had a very good meat and potato pie for lunch and lemon cheese cake, then a walk in the lanes in the sunshine. I filled my hat with windfall apples which I shared with DiL. I always miss them when they leave, but will settle down for a quiet evening with a glass of wine.
See you all tomorrow🤞🏻!

Good afternoon all, thanks for opening up Mick.

We have DD’s dog this weekend so we’re dog walking and not doing much else today.

Thinking of everyone.

NotTooOld Sat 11-Oct-25 17:36:29

Good afternoon, all. This is a nice thread. It's been a sunnyish day here in South Staffs so I have been in the garden doing a bit of tidying up, splitting and moving perennials, planting bulbs and noting that the doors and windows need a clean. Not today though!

Susan56 Sat 11-Oct-25 17:40:33

Good afternoon Mick and all.

A busy afternoon.Flu jabs then over the border into North Wales to collect the grandchildren.Dropped DGD at a party then a couple of hours in town with DGS.Now home waiting for Strictly. They are both excited for movie night so I have said any arguments and they can’t watch it.The arguments will probably start when the credits roll🤷‍♀️

I’ve only just come back from a long day in Valletta, including having lunch with bellasnana! We never stopped talking…. She’s on the left.
I’m having a great time but we did too much today I think, so am exhausted.
I haven’t read all the posts but wish you all a good evening and night.

Good evening from a fine Northampton.

Just back from the rugby, and feeling over the moon, as we (Northampton Saints) have just beaten arch rivals Leicester Tigers. A really good game with the lead switching several times, but we came out on top. A packed stadium of 15,000 and a great atmosphere - rugby at its best! I am quite hoarse from singing and shouting!

Was good to see DD and her DH again, (we sit together at rugby) and lots of catching up to do after their holiday in Crete.

Wishing all a pleasant evening.

Hello everyone

I knew we’d be back!

I’m currently on the train back to Oxford. I’ve had a lovely day in London visiting the V&A East Store House in Stratford with younger son. It is mad and enormous.

We had a delicious lunch at an Irish restaurant in Hackney.

It sounds like we’ve all been having an exciting day.

I’m up at the crack of dawn tomorrow as we have to be at the Car Boot place by 8 am. Hopefully we’ll sell 60 jars of honey!,

Aldom Sat 11-Oct-25 18:55:51

Lovely photo grandMattie and Bellasnana.

Harris27 Sat 11-Oct-25 19:03:53

Yes it’s nice to see everyone posting. I lost gransnet last night and didn’t know what had happened. Had a lovely day today we went out for the day to Northallerton and as we were going into Betty’s we saw Rishi Sunak walk past! Lovely day and pleasant weather wouldn’t think it was October!

luluaugust Sat 11-Oct-25 19:12:20

I guess it is good evening now. A busy day in our local town, supermarket and cooking
Catch up tomorrow

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 11-Oct-25 19:25:20

Great pic of grandMattie and Bellasnana! Nice to see you both.
I wish we could see everyone. That’d be great but I know it’s not sensible. 🙂
