The stairlift fitters are working away! Fingers crossed all goes smoothly 😊

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. No walk today as MrB is dealing with the stairlift installation. Wishing you all a happy Tuesday 🌹

Up later this morning so I haven't read any of your posts yet, and thought I'd better.post before it gets any later!

Good morning everyone from a damp grey Northampton, set to be the same all day. Shall still be joining our group walk after lunch.

Yoga yesterday was thankfully nice and gentle - our teacher said she felt guilty after a particularly hard lesson last week!
We then went for coffee and chat afterwards at the little cafe round the corner.

After lunch I got to grips with giving my sitting room a good going over! A thorough damp dust everywhere, re-organising my 'bits and pieces' in the process, finding different locations for them, funny how different everything looks now. Then gave the furniture and carpet a good vacuum, including the cat climbing tree, for which I found a good stiff brush to remove layers of their fur. Moved all the cushions around too, which made a visual difference.

After that it was time to sit down with a drink and my book!

Today, not much on my 'to do' list apart from the walk, and making a ham, pea and potato soup in the pressure cooker with the left over gammon.

Wishing all a pleasant day. Lovely photos, grandMattie.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Rather dreich here.
I'm about to drive to Stirling to collect unsold pottery from an exhibition.
Yesterday went well. I had asked my friend to give a talk to U3A about her charity work in Zambia which she did and it was fascinating. About 30 in the audience. I warned her that some may nod off but apart from me for a second or two, everyone was very well behaved and asked sensible questions.

Great trip you're having gMattie

Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

I have off from work today and tomorrow, WEEEEEE!

I crashed into bed yesterday about 4 pm, but totally mis-timed it with the pillow and accidentally banged my head on the wall! It wasn't just a thump but a whopper of a clonk!

Two paracetamol washed down with a can of fizzy Ribena, and I still had the thumping headache when I woke up about 9 pm! HA!

Have a good one, all of you!

Morning from a dull S Hants.
Happy Birthday MrSar 🎂
Harrogran 💐
Busy day on the voluntary phone yesterday, then I ran our friend to the airport returning for quiz.
Some kitchen cleaning today, possibly a walk, we’ve had no rain for ages so lots of scrunchy leaves to crunch underfoot - Roses.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy south coast.
I’m nursing a sore knee at the moment so no allotment for me today. Not sure why I’m having a flare up because I haven’t been doing anything strenuous.
Hoping Vodafone gets its act back on track soon as I am still without broadband following yesterday’s outage. I was hoping to rest my knee by catching up with some programmes on iPlayer.
Have the best possible day everyone.

gingster good luck with the cataract surgery. Remember, no bending nor lifting!

GrannySomerset Tue 14-Oct-25 08:40:33

Wonderful Cleaner due shortly so a morning of bed changing and laundry and not getting in the way. Still surprisingly tired after Sunday, proof that I must have talked far too much then.

Lots of autumn colour in the garden which will last till we get heavy rain and/or wind but which is a delight just now. Need to plant some bulbs so had better get to the garden centre later this week or there won’t be any to buy. Rather overdid the pots last year so will be rather more selective this time.

Good morning all and it’s dreary here in Essex.

Today Dh has appointment with the diabetic doctor, we had the nurse two weeks ago who was very thorough so I don’t know what the doctor can add.

I’m having my second cataract op tomorrow and have to be at the hospital before 8, so won’t be posting.

Happy memories for you Harrigran
Happy birthday to your dh Sar.
Enjoy your day with Dolly , Marydoll.

Take it easy 🌻

Good morning from a dsmp, overcast Durham. Arrived home safely after a lovely weekend, after stopping off at Betty’s in Northallerton. We were lucky to get seated before the usual long queue had formed. It doesn’t get any cheaper! Today, I’m meeting a friend at a local garden centre. Somewhere I’ve never actually been before. Her DD and family have moved to Paris for the foreseeable future and my friend is struggling with that, as she was very involved with her three grandchildren. At least there are daily flights to Paris from Newcastle and she’s off again soon to help out for the half-time holiday holidays.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Shropshire.

Thank you for all your recommendations for nightdresses for mum.

Yesterday was difficult.I noticed a big deterioration in her.We stayed a couple of hours as though she wasn’t talking and just staring she recognised us and enjoyed us being there. We then went to the house. It looked nice but I was disappointed that although I am paying the gardener what mum used to pay him it doesn’t look as good as it did.

Today we are going over to Staffordshire to collect DGS1 from school.

DD still very unwell and stressing about work😩

Thoughts with all our mountaineers and wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Good morning from North Surrey. A bit chilly but dry. Our garden wall is smothered in Virginia Creeper creeping over from next door. It's starting to redden and catches the morning and evening sun. Stunning. We also have a bumper crop of red berries on a pyracantha which catches the sun.
The two horse chestnuts have dropped the conkers but the leaves are hanging on and are golden brown. The garden is a mass of colour. Even on a dull day. I love October.

No joy

Good morning from a dull northwest coast. More music practice yesterday, FaceTimes with DD and BIL in the south and housework.
This morning off for my Covid and flu jabs, followed by the music club, songs ready and I’m on the desk, hoping not to feel odd as I sometimes do after jabs.
Harrigran and card I painted.

Morning, North Leicestershire is damp and dismal today.

Not a lot happening today apart from a manicure here at home.

RosesandLilac Tue 14-Oct-25 08:09:50

Good morning from south Glos, it’s another dull, damp start to the day here.
Hoping the sun comes out today, the leaves on the trees in the woodland behind us are changing colour and glow beautifully in sunshine.
Many leaves coming down now, I love scuffing through them when they’re crispy.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from a damp Suffolk after a similar day yesterday.

I’m off for an early coffee with a close friend before she attends a funeral of someone from her church. After that,it’s home and I might try and plant the rest of the dwarf narcissi in pots. The tulips will wait until next month and then it’s the usual battle trying to stop the mice feasting on them. So far, chilli pepper sprinkled on the top of the pots seems to be the best deterrent.

I had a surprising but very pleasing message last evening from one of the friends I met for lunch last week. She was going into the local hospital for her second hip replacement late morning on Sunday with the op in the afternoon. All went well and she was home late yesterday afternoon feeling stiff and sore but delighted to be home.

Hope today is a good one for all.

GrannyIvy Tue 14-Oct-25 08:05:51

Good morning from a very grey Cambridgeshire.

The cooking demonstration was good yesterday but oh goodness the ovens used were very hi tech and so many settings. I would definitely have to sign up for lessons if I bought one of those. The chef cooked a roast chicken and roast potatoes in half an hour. There was lots of food to taste and lots of chat all very enjoyable. Today I’m meeting an old work colleague haven’t seen her for a few months so lots to catch up on. Will then need to collect dgs2 from school. His sister has a nasty cold so staying home today.

Harrigran 💐

Wishing everyone a good day

Good morning from a murky East Midlands.
Coffee with friends this morning and Ocado delivery this afternoon.
Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C

Harrigran, 💐

H.appy birthday to your DH, Sar,

I think you may be referring to the church dedicated to Our Lady in Mosta, GM, I found the story of the bomb falling through the hole in the roof, fascinating.
It is based on the Pantheon in Rome and has the third largest unsupported dome in the world.
I was surprised and disappointed to hear of your experience on the ferry from Gozo, I have always found it a pleasant trip.

A particularly bad night with little sleep, means I am struggling, but am determined to go out with Dollie for a few hours ( it's mid term here).
She will be looking forward to it, therefore I do not want to disappoint her.
Her school report was excellent and there may be a little treat for her.

Wishing you all a pleasant daycand hugs for the mountaineers and those, who are caring for them.♥️

Good morning. A damp dull start here in N.Bucks.
I’m off for a manicure and pedicure first thing this morning. This afternoon I have a physio appointment re. my shoulders. A quick visit to see DGSs 2&3. Packing to be finished for our holiday and make sure the house is clean and tidy. Choir this evening.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning from cloudy W Kent. I have decided to get all the Christmas cards and bits out this morning to see what I have already got. I need to be a bit more economical this year.
This afternoon U3A monthly meeting
