Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. No sign of the sun yet.

I drove to Stirling with my helper yesterday to collect several potters' unsold work from an exhibition there. Had a really nice coffee and came back passing the fabulous Kelpies rising out of the mist on route.

Today I have a U3A group coming here to see my house and to talk about its history and previous inhabitants. I may light a fire. I'm trying not to eat sweet things so haven't baked. Perhaps they'll bring biscuits.
This afternoon I'm collecting my 2 youngest DGC for some holiday activities. Any ideas? They are 10 and 8. There are apples to pick.

Happy birthday GrannyGravy!
Have a wonderful day with your
friend.

I've had an invitation to visit my friend who has recently moved to the Western Isles. Hopefully next month.

Enjoy the rest of your Malta trip gMattie.

Wishing everyone some joy today.

Good morning all it’s starting to get light already, the weathers meant to be gloomy and dull here on the east coast of Fife, I’ve put my heating up on my hive , it’s great that I can do this from my iPad. I’m on good form today, it’s a day to stay at home nice and cosy.
I’ll be binging on Netflix today I watched a great film yesterday, I enjoy watching the Greats.

Have a good day my friends and stay safe

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. I got back from my holiday in Sicily last week but had a hospital investigation which I was concerned about and decided to hang fire till that was over. Thank goodness all well and I’m happy for others in the same condition.

Sicily was amazing, so interesting and spectacular views along the coastline.
We were travelling in a group tour and everyone sends you thanks Bellasnana for the suggestion of visiting Castelmola, as you said, it was spectacular although my sister had her hands over her eyes for part of the journey😎! I hope those bus drivers are well paid😊
We also visited Syracusa and the stunning Valley of the Temples, and I understand why you returned frequently to Taormina. Thanks again.

I’m off shortly to Edinburgh with a U3A theatre group to see The Seagull, I hope my hearing allows me to enjoy it, I’m afraid it’s deteriorating rather.

All those struggling have remained in my prayers and I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning from another dull grey day in S Hants. Safe travels gMattie, ginny and any others venturing afar.
Yesterday I sorted bulbs and weeded the pots - they’ve only been empty 5 minutes - I plan to fill them today, violas and bulbs.
I need to check through the chest freezer too, I lose track of what’s in there.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 8°C.

Not much to report today.
Dollie and I had a delightful morning yesterday, but how she can talk!
I lost count of the times we were in Claire's accessories, although she doesn't have pierced ears, she has a penchant for the long dangly earrings, which are the current fashion.
Her birthday is in five weeks (and counting) and she has informed me that she is having her ears pierced, hence the fascination with earrings.

A few weeks ago, I had seen a beautiful Nativity globe in TKMaxx , but didn't buy due to the weight. I went back with my M&S trolley (aka my walking aid) and they were all gone.😭
Silverburn was so busy, I just wanted home, I was seriously flagging and struggling. Even my favourite shops couldn't seduce me!

Just as we were driving home, DS phoned, asking where in Silverburn, we were. He had a meeting with the mangement team and hoped we could meet up first.
Unfortunately, we had missed him by minutes.
Dollie was so disappointed at not seeing daddy, as was he.

When we arrived home, I noticed a hospital letter lying in the porch. Like me, the postman can identify which hospital they come from, because the paper and envelopes are all different.
To my utter astonishment, it was a request to call and make a respiratory appointment.
This referral was advised by the cardiologist to my GP in December 23, I have been chasing it ever since, it has only taken twenty two months. 😡
Even better, it is not at my local hospital, but with one of the leading respiratory consultants in the Glasgow University Hospital Trust. I have won top prize! 😉
My hacking cough has returned and it's getting me down.

On delivering lunch to Dollie, who was firmly ensconced in the conservatory, she commented: Gran, I hope you don't mind me making my self comfortable in your conservatory, watching American rubbish, wrapped in a throw and awaiting table service, 🤣

I was forced to sit with DH in the lounge, listening to his latest obsession, podcasts about American politics.
Not surprisingly, I dozed off, I felt dreadful.
DH wakened me to tell me DIL had arrived. I wondered why she had come to visit, completely about forgetting Dollie, who was next door.🤣

Today will be a day of rest and recovery, we have Babydoll tomorrow. DS offered to take the day off, but she is better than any medicine.
However, DH will have to do all the lifting and carrying. I'm still very uncomfortable with stomach pain.

Ash enjoy your time in France, GM, safe journey home and best wishes for all our friends, who travelling or are feeling under the weather. 💐

So glad to hear that Blossoming will be returning home,

Have a lovely day folks.

Good morning from,as predicted,a dull Suffolk after a drizzly day yesterday.

Apart from keep fit this morning and shopping for a new kettle, followed by coffee and cake , the day will be spent peacefully at home.

I think I’ll start the Christmas cake by putting the dried fruit to soak in brandy for a couple of days.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. I had my flu jab at the chemist as arranged, then went off for my covid jab appointment at the surgery, but the nurse said she couldn’t do it in the same arm (I have No lymph nodes in the other) so I will have to rearrange it. She took my blood pressure which is always on the high side, but it was high/normal, so something was done.

I was on duty at the music club and it went well. I put fairy lights on my desk for a bit of showbiz and use a few props for my songs. I was sorry to hear my co-organiser is in hospital and we all signed a card for her.
I’m feeling odd today (or odder😁) after my jab and have decided not to go to the usual lunchtime recital, get the Dyson fixed etc etc. Just a quiet day.

So glad you enjoyed Malta GM, we had friends there and I sang in an opera concert a few years ago, a lovely visit when I was treated like a star!
It will be good to be home Blossoming, enjoy your French stay Ash and good news Stillearning🌺

Usedtobeblonde Wed 15-Oct-25 09:46:23

hollysteers I also have no lymph nodes in my right arm but on Monday when I went for my flu jab I was offered Covid as well.
At first I declined but was assured it wouldn’t be a problem so I agreed.
One nearer the shoulder, the other a couple of inches lower.
Absolutely no reaction, not even a sore arm.
I wouldn’t hesitate again.

Singing this afternoon, always a tonic, but otherwise an easy day. We have grey skies again so summer has definitely left us but as there is no wind the colours in the fields and gardens are a joy.

Missed Madeleine’s observations but am glad to know that her enforced brevity is technical and nothing more serious.

Good morning all from the east midlands.
It's an overcast dull day here today, but it's slowly brightening-up.
Today I'm doing some more down-sizing! Gosh, it's so difficult!
The worst items to sort-out are my books, I just want to keep them all. Also, photos & clothes, plus oddments of nice material, that may or may not, come in useful at some future date.
It's a ruddy palaver quite frankly!

Good aftrernoon from grey Witney in Oxfordshire. Not a single sunbeam today or yesterday. But I'm not complaining as I have so much to be grateful for.
