Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C.
I was sorry to read yesterday's sad Post from FGT.
Thank you Peli for the photos yesterday.
Dollie and Bavbydoll are so excited about Halloween. At Babydoll's insistence, I was forced to buy her a packet of orange , (her favourite colour) spiders. She was going to put them in daddy's red hair and he wouldn't see them. She thought this was hilarious,
Baby was on top form, but exhausting,
We had trouble getting her in the car seat, the straps were too tight, but DH had difficulty loosening them. He was getting more and more frustrated and cross.
I sat in the backseat with Baby cuddling in, who was defiantly refusing to go in the seat, saying, she didn't want to go home! (We were only going to the pharmacy. but she wasn't convinced.)
DIL, Dollie's mum appeared beside papa, trying to help, then Dollie's granny appeared on my side of the car, trying to coax BabyD, then finally Dollie appeared too, much to BabyD's delight.
It was like a family convention.
Eventually, I gave in and bribed her with jelly babies, In a split second, she became this happy, smiling toddler. The same could not be said about grumpy old Papa! 😡
Later she kept the queue in the pharmacy entertained. She is not allowed a dummy outside, but had sneaked one into her poaket. She has started to copy her other granddad's pronunciation of certain words.
She speaks politely, with random Scottish words thrown in. It is quite funny.
In the pharmacy, she put the dummy in her mouth and I pointed out that dummies were for inside (along with her inside voice, which she wasn't using). She argued that we were inside, I said we weren't. Then she pointed to the ceiling lights and said, 'Look Ga Ga, inside". I could not argue with her logic.
The people waiting in the queue were taking great interest in the discussion, to see who would win. I did not!
Later, we were walking in the main street, kicking through leaves and clutching orange spiders when Baby ordered me to sing Incie Spider. She joined in, singing at the top of her voice.
I looked up to see this man laughing loudly. I prayed, that I wouldn't see anyone I knew.
The plan in the afternoon was a walk down the drover's track to look for leaves etc.
We got out of the drive, but she refused to move, terrified of the noise from gardener"s sit on mower in the field beside us.
Feet planted firmly on the ground, she refused to move, insisting we play in the garden instead,
Unfortunately Papa had left the hose switched on, I too need to purchase a puddle suit. 💦💦💦💦💦💦
I was seriously flagging, with nowhere to sit (she had washed all the seats) and went to look for Papa, who had disappeared, so that I could get a rest.
I found him, coffee in hand, ensconced on the sofa, eating the rhubarb pie, which I had picked up for him on the way home from the surgery and happily doing doing Soduko.
My reaction is unprintable. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I am the grandparent, who is supposed to be resting!
Off to Argos this morning to buy a Spiderman helmet and a do Sainsbury's shop.
For the rest of the day I shall be resting. I do have a dress, which needs shortened, but it is tricky. LLFL, it too needs shortened by four inches,. I shall think about it.
Wishing you all a pleasant day, happy holidays and hugs for all, who need one,
