Morning all from a dreich Kent! Marydoll I was looking at Braehead website last night as I am sure we will end up there if we get to Scotland in November. They have a Shopmobility service, I may have to borrow a scooter - there is no way I could walk round. Does Silverburn have the same facility? I finally have an appointment with rheumatologist on 11/11 (only taken 13 weeks for an urgent appointment!) for my polymyalgia rheumatica. Routine appts are 40 weeks! I have prepared a spreadsheet of my steroid taper and a report on my current situation. I thought a couple of minutes reading that would make the best use of limited appointment time. There will probably be some comment regarding my assertive approach. I refuse to be regarded as a ‘70 year old’ !
I have volunteered to proofread the newsletter for PMAGCAuk on a regular basis and join in the Zoom meeting once a month - there is a meeting this afternoon. Last month was a trial for me. I used to run courses in running effective meetings and it was so frustrating taking part in a chaotic one. People talking over each other, too long spent on introductions , one person hogging the Q& A, people on mute, people being ignored - every mistake in the book. I shall try to be less stressed this afternoon.

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast. Music club yesterday went well, although the numbers are low sadly and a couple have flounced off over a partner’s music mix up and said they are not returning. Such childish behaviour. My unofficial committee member is still in hospital and is missed.
No need for tantrums from our flouncing couple, we are an easy going group with lots of goodwill and varying standards of competence.

Tonight to a final rehearsal before the opera company concert. We are very unrehearsed so I’ll work on the pieces today.

Redcar, I had two vertebraic fractures, after falling down icy steps one Christmas night.
I walked about for six months, after my GP (same one as at present) dismissed it as nothing to worry about.
I collapsed in school one day with severe pain.
My lovely rheumtaologist sent me for a full body scan, where it was revealed I had two unstable vertebraic fractures and three stress fractures in my foot.

I agreed to take part in a vertoboplasty trial, sponsored by the Mayo Clinic, because my spine was deteriorating,
It was a miracle. I did have some nerve damage, but I had a facet joint block, which helped. The only problem is that the cement shows up in every chest xray and I have to explain that there is nothing sinister going on.

I can totally empathise with you, the pain was horrendous. I hope you get a speedy appointment. ♥️

Good Morning from Durham. It’s a beautiful sunny start to an Autumnal day here.
Visited the DD’s last night. Both are quite unwell, and off work. DD1 is recovering from Covid, but worse still, struck down by recurring back trouble (she’s had ops in the past) and has booked an MRI. Her GP wants her to stay off work until then, but it’s the end of November and she says she’s not happy to do that.
DD2 has the most horrendous cold, so I went to help her with DGS2. Left her a Covid test and she’s positive! Seems they both have a very debilitating strain. She’s had a really rough night and due to her disability, I’m quite concerned. DD1 has had Covid 3x now. but this is DD2’s first.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee this morning - a change of plan. I’ll ask if DD2 needs any help later, even if I just get Little Dog out of the way.

A bit later this morning as I slept till 8.45, but good morning from a bright Northampton. Mug of tea in front of me and a cat warming my lap.

New shower was installed yesterday by a very pleasant plumber - grand opening will be very shortly when I try it for the first time! I have also booked him to replace my stop-tap with a switch, and to replace the sealant in the main bathroom shower. He.needed to turn the water off yesterday and noticed that the tap was so stiff that even be couldn't shift it (he had to go outside and turn it off at the meter!). He then recommended fitting a switch instead which will be easier in case of emergency.

I managed two loads of washing yesterday and reluctantly had to use the tumble dryer, but only on a short cool temperature.

Sainsbury's delivery later, then no plans for the rest of the day, except to get a tea-loaf and flapjacks out of the freezer for tomorrow.
Bacon chop and pineapple for dinner tonight.

Thank you for your kind messages about my back. This will be the third vertebral fracture and I know it will heal in its own time. I’ve been on Alendronic acid tablets for over three years but the doctor is concerned that they’re not having the desired effect! A referral to a rheumatologist is on the cards! Meanwhile I’ll keep soldiering on!

A lovely autumn morning before the rain reaches us later today, so a gentle potter outside I think. Singing this afternoon, so a nice day in prospect, though like others I am sad to find I can do so much less than I used to. Not a problem compared with what some of our posters are enduring.

Good morning from cloudy Lancashire. Yesterday we did a lot of walking, despite the awful weather, and I was very tired by bedtime. It’s looking brighter today so hopefully we’ll avoid another drenching!

My world has shrunk considerably as my health has declined, but I refuse to dwell on what I can’t do and just enjoy what I can do. I love reading about all your doings out there in the wide world and your pictures bring it to life.

Hope your DH is improving Dragonfly and that your DH is now safe home with you FGT2.

I have had a text to say the window cleaner is coming so had to get up early and unlock the gates.
Yesterday I spent hours searching for an instruction book for a camera, I decided to empty my bedside drawer and lo and behold it was at the very bottom. Found all sorts of bits and pieces I had forgotten I had.
DD and SIL are visiting today and taking me shopping.

Morning from a dry, bright S Hants, cooker being cleaned this morning, not by me, this afternoon the garden lady will help me bed down for winter.
Yesterday I had an upset stomach in the afternoon so didn’t risk AGM last night. MrJ went, we’ve been a busy Good Neighbours group in the last year, there may be a festive get together.

Good morning Glasgow, where it is 7°C, with clear skies.

Ash, I noticed outr local Morrisons had an industrial size washer in the car park, as well as an Auto Glass facility. An excellent use of a car park, which is always half empty.

Yesterday, I went to the M&S food hall and, using an empty trolley for support, walked the length of Silverburn to M&S.
I was looking for a Nativity globe, which I should have picked up, a few weeks ago.
It was indeed there, however one of the Wise Men was missing. I think he must have followed the wrong star.😉
The Halloween items were reduces and Babydoll will be sorting a ghostly hairband tomorrow.DH and I are taking bets on how long it lasts, before it it snaps in two She likes to test the durabilty and strength of items.😉
It took me hours, I was so slow, visiting only M&S and TKMxx and ignoring my favourites. I was quite sad, when I realised that I can no longer do what I used to. The spirit is very willing, but the body is blooming useless. 😉
The mall was unusually busy for a Tuesday morning, which slowed me down.
I was out for so long, (bumped into someone I worked with 🗣) that DH was becoming increasingly anxious about me. I forgot to put on my live location.

After a snooze, I tackled my sewing jobs and shortened three pairs of DH's trousers. Yet another day of overdoing things.

DH has insisted I stay in bed this morning, he is probably right!
It is just not in my nature to wallow and give in, but I am wabbit (weary,)

After that thankfully it’s into Giffnock and the evening with DGC. I hope DGS finds my new soup acceptable and doesn’t sniff out the carrots! DGD is 13 tomorrow and we will have a special breakfast before I head home.

Good morning from what promises to be a sunny day in Suffolk as yesterday turned out to be.

Bellasnana I love your photos from the museum. There is a booth on the pier in Southwold that does old fashioned photographs and the one the DGC loved when they were much younger was the one that showed them upside down!

As it is forecast to get colder and wet from tomorrow I think we are going to Dunwich for a walk on the beach with the little dog and then lunch either in the cafe,which Gingster knows well or the pub The Ship in the village if the cafe is closed.

Hope those caring for others find some support for themselves and those unwell have the best day possible.

Tuinoma I was interested and want to say we now have these outdoor launderettes in our Midlothian town.
It is such a good idea. People sit in their cars, on their phones, and wait for their wash.

That extra large washer outside all intermarchés is such a fantastic and simple idea. I still miss them even after 12 yrs back in the uk. The french are always much more 'community ' focussed, so good!

Childcare afternoon for us. We aren’t really needed till nursery pick up time but, wonder if wonders, my DDoutL has asked if I can help by sorting out the art and craft supplies. I’m happy to try to resolve the chaos although I suspect it won’t be an easy task.

Good morning all. No rain so far in Glasgow but a short spell is due around noon.

Non stop rain yesterday, of course it was, the day my window cleaner arrived! Something to look forward to this morning, a coffee catch up at Waitrose with TopsyIrene followed by a Granny pick up from school in the afternoon to collect DG2. We stop at a local cafe for a treat before I take her home. She is naturally blonde but at 16 has decided on a new look and dyed her long hair black! Crazy teenage years. 😂

Good morning from Shropshire.A brighter day forecast.

DH got the kitchen walls painted yesterday and will start on the skirting boards etc today.Our usual Wednesday at home until 4ish when we will collect DGD, take her out for tea and then to dance.Both children had excellent parents evenings and have requested cake box as a treat so we will call there as well.

Redcar I hope the stronger tablets help but sorry it could be a fracture and madeleine I hope the cramp improves as the day goes on.

I was going to see my architect today. He has designed a little eco house for me in part of my garden, but we heard yesterday that PP has been refused, for the second if not third time and I don't want to appeal. My patience, time and enthusiasm has run out. I first applied 10 months ago.

My Gaelic presentation went well which was a relief.
Yarn group today and perhaps a swim later.

So glad that FGT and Dragonfly's DHs are both improving.

DHs eldest son and family arrived safely yesterday lunchtime, they travelled up from Manchester over a couple of days in their camper van. They’re hoping to go on a walk somewhere today, hopefully it’ll stay dry as yesterday’s walk ended in a downpour.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° with clear skies although the ground is damp. GrandMattie I love almonds. I would enjoy your cake. GrannyIvy fingers crossed for the court case. I inherited leylandii hedges when I moved in seven years ago. I've got one hedge completely removed and the other cut back severely. Dragonfly I'm pleased your dh is feeling better. Bellasnana Aldi had their wooden toy sale a couple of weeks ago, but there was nothing suitable for the boys, sadly.
Yesterday was a good day, although the boys were tired. Dgs2 had been up in the night with a bad dream. He's getting a few of those just now. He woke dgs1 too. So both boys were quite emotional in the morning. We left after an hour at soft play as dgs1 had had enough. Back home, they chilled, watching tv for a bit. Then dgs2 decided to dance to their latest craze - demon hunters. It's a Korean animation and the singing is very catchy. So round and round he went in the living room until he was sweating. He was very funny. Dgs1 got out of the way and drew in his bedroom.
Today is going to be a quiet day for me. The garden man will appear for his money at some point. Otherwise, I will potter about the house. I'll finish the last of the chicken for dinner and might make more lentil soup. And now it's time to put the bin out before I miss the collection! I'll do the walk of shame down the path in my dressing gown. It's difficult to creep quietly when you're dragging a noisy bin! Have a good day all.
