I enjoy reading Gransnet and it has been really helpful and informative over the years but the interface is very old fashioned. It doesn't seem to reflect today's Grans - the pictures that are used are boring and the whole layout is dull. I know some will say if it ain't broke don't fix it but the systems need updating too.

The thing is I think, PaynesGrey that most Gransnetters aren’t that bothered about the appearance or function of the site either? The fact that the site is plain and simple to navigate has its pros as well as its cons I guess.

In a nutshell.

Aka Dimwit!

My only wish is for a edit function to correct my typos

Some interesting and entertaining bits. Twee at times. And yes, not very reflective of the population after which it's named.

Why don’t you think it’s very reflective of the population after which it's named?
What do you expect from grans?

Twee: affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint.

😂😂😂

Can you elaborate please?

There are plenty of Grans only 40yrs old or less, and I’m sure they don’t think they are “Grannies”
Most posting on GN are older, would 55yrs plus cover most ?.

Are you kidding? Dainty and delicate?
I take it you have never read the News and Politics Threads.
Robust, lively and challenging. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Yes, and edit button, please.
Yes I know 'preview'.

I have never been dainty or delicate in my life. 😂

Even though I was a very skinny child, I was always getting scrapes, bumps, scratches from climbing trees etc.
Two left feet as well.

"Dainty or delicate" indeed LOL LOL LOL.

Visions of wizened little old ladies.

errrrm....and takes no account whatsoever of the fact that - according to mass media - apparently women are now deemed to have to try to be youthful and attractive up into their early 60's these days ......#sighs.

Where does that come from??? I've seen a lot of 60+ women on YouTube doing beauty type channels and I've heard a number of 60+ women (me included) talking about skin care, beauty treatments. etc. but I've yet to see that they have to. Unlike teenagers I would have thought 60+ women were quite capable of deciding what they want to do.

This is a photo of me in my younger days. I've aged a bit since then, and was photographed without the knitted shawl I usually wear, but whilst some of you might be slightly less fashionable, on the whole I imagine you all look very similar.

Does it stop at early 60s then?

Cue .... relax 😂
Oops, too much grinning results in wrinkles.
