I hope your GS’s op goes smooth Grandmabatty 🙏

Good morning all. We had a lot of heavy rain yesterday.

Not a great week. I’ve had a bad reaction to the Shingrix vaccine. Very painful arm, fever, dizziness and fatigue and then 40 hours later, a UTI. This seems too much of a coincidence as the last time I had one I was in my 20’s and I’m 70 now. Got a single dose sachet of anitibiotic (Monuril) prescribed.

GS1 (14) competed at Winchester yesterday at British swimming SE.region but not too big a distance to travel this time. He came 3rd in backstroke with a new PB. I was impressed as he had Covid at the beginning of October. A 31 year old man won. The heat was based purely on time and not age.

I hope everything goes well for your GS2 Grandmabatty. I feel so sorry for him and that GS1 has been so upset. Lovely photo of their Halloween costumes. GD3 dressed up as Rumi from K-Pop Demon Hunters and GS2 as Buzz Lightyear. Not exactly scary.

Glad your son has been able to inform you he is safe *GrandMattie.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning no idea what the weather is doing as haven’t opened the curtains yet.

Washing wasn’t done yesterday so must do it today as I will have limited access downstairs from Monday whilst new flooring is laid.

Roast pork around 7ish.

Thinking of all our lost loved ones on All Souls Day 🙋‍♀️

plus the fact that GM was not immediately backed up by he who is in charge ie the vicar. I feel the stress levels, very bad for health going forward, constant cortisol high. We see that in almost every post. Time to reassess

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 24°C.

It was very hot yesterday! I took visiting granddog Milo for an hour’s walk and hadn’t realised quite how hot it was. He was a trooper though and we both enjoyed it.

I shall take him out again today but am awaiting the arrival of the plumber who is coming to replace my mixer tap in the en-suite. Of all days to come but I’m not complaining as it has been wobbling for over a week now.

Had photos and message from DD3, the boys are enjoying their trip to Sicily. I miss them!

grandMattie I have anxiety just reading about your day yesterday! This is why I don’t get involved in anything as I’m not really a ‘people person’ and can’t be doing with characters such as the 🐉 and her side-kick!

Such a pity Iris had to be disappointed as well. I hope she wasn’t too upset.😞

Oh what a worry for you Grandmabatty, that poor little fellow. Hope all goes smoothly and that both boys recover from the stress of it all.🙏🏻

I’ve put the canary outside and he’s tweeting away, poor little soul. I don’t really like birds in cages but I’m enjoying having him for a few days as he’s very cheerful.

Today is All Souls Day when we remember all our loved ones who left ahead of us. May they rest in peace. 🕊️

Hoping a good day is had by all.☀️

Good morning from soggy south Glos, it’s raining here but supposed to be dry with sunshine in a couple of hours.
We did another new walk yesterday morning, along an old carriage drive about 3 miles away. I have done it once, many years ago, it’s very easy going, no traffic although you can hear the busy main road. It was pretty breezy and heavily carpeted with fallen leaves. The colours are beautiful this year.
When we got back I finished sorting out my wardrobes in one bedroom, I really should do the other one in the spare bedroom too….
A friend came for coffee and we had a good natter then I had someone buy my unused sewing machine so a very satisfying day.
I also put my two finished paintings into frames, rather pleased with them 😁
I have a big pile of ironing to do today, I can’t ignore it anymore, then I will carry on with a piece of mixed media that I watched on a Zoom session a few weeks ago.
I also want to sort out the pinboard on my craft room wall, it’s covered in bits and pieces and it’s messy.
Honestly grandMattie I admire your patience (and energy), I would have been hard-pressed trying to cope with such an unpleasant individual.
Have a nice day everyone 🌹

Poor little boy, batty. Of course he needs a load of tlc and reassurance! My heart goes out to both of the boys.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp again. GrandMattie there's always one, isn't there? What an annoying person. And poor Iris.
Yesterday I pottered about and managed to get most things done in between resting. I didn't have much of an appetite and had beans on toast for dinner.
Today I'm up early because dgs2 has the surgery on his elbow and I'm looking after dgs1. Dgs2 has to be at the hospital for eight so dgs1 will be dropped off after seven. The op could take up to two hours depending on how complex it is. Dgs1 and I will go to Hobbycraft later. He likes to draw on grandma's special paper, so I'll buy some for him. He's been badly upset by his brother's accident and needs some tlc. I've no idea how long he'll be here or if dgs2 will get home today or not, so I'll play it by ear. Dinner will be beef olives in onion gravy kept from yesterday. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
The reason no one knows much about the troubles in Tanzania is that they have cut off all communication in/out of the country. DS managed to send quick reassurance when the internet was back for a few minutes.
Golly, was I tired after the fete yesterday! I went in first thing to set up, started, then the vicar told me to move to the next room - for internet access for zapper…. I did that, and spent nearly two hours getting as much as I could ready. I went home for a mini sit down and a bite to eat.
When I got back I was confronted by the dragon 🐉 and her shadow. She told me that we “had to move BACK to the previous room for health and safety issues and that the vicar had agreed”! I was furious. She was so very bossy that after about 30 minutes I asked who was in charge. “I am”, was the immediate reply. Even more angry, I tried to explain that she didn’t know her way round the kitchen, etc. Talk about water off a duck’s back! In the end, enraged, I told her that I was in charge, that I didn’t get jokes when I was tired, and that it was my kitchen. The whole thing ran smoothly after that, probably when she realised she’d lost.
My job was to facilitate everything so cakes didn’t run out, coffee, hot water, etc., were always topped up, my”staff” was happy. We were extremely busy for the three hours - extra, if you include the dragon “allowing” people drinks before we had finished setting up…
In the end, I decided life was too short to carry on arguing, and beside, she barely did anything, spent her time either disappearing or chatting at a table with her friends.
I mentioned her behaviour to the organiser who wasn’t best pleased as she had been firm told that it was “my” kitchen, etc., both in person and by mail,, and the last thing she’d wanted was to put my back up!
Iris came and was told that she had no place at the raffle! Once again, I was displeased. The poor child felt thrown out. She and DD spent a few minutes looking round, bought some cake for her sleepover and went home very disappointed. I felt very sad but had no answer to the situation.
We made at least £400 at the refreshments. I won a bottle of brandy in the raffle!
Today, apart from church, I shall do very little, gathering my energy for the coming, busy week,
Hugs to this3 with difficulties. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and showers today

I was awake too early today, I think I am still in summer-time mode

It was a good satisfying day yesterday and I made good progress with sorting my pull-out larder plus making it easy-access and future-proofed. The photo is of the bottom two shelves, there are 5 shelves altogether. I am being very careful to ensure the shelving system is stable, all it has on the bottom is one runner held down by several screws and I need to make sure that the torque (tilting force) is minimal

I did have washing planned but it could be an iffy drying day, I am on the fence at the moment, could do the washing, could sort my built-in unused fridge/freezer which is a very useful storage unit, I can reach to the back of every shelf but it is messy at the moment

If the weather is nice then I will get myself out

Have a good day

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dark but dry north Wales coast where I’m about to enjoy my chamberpot ☕️ before trotting off for a 🗞️ in the next town. It’s a good, quiet walk for getting your head straight with all sorts of things flitting through….🤔

Lucky you Susan spending time in lovely Ludlow- we’re hoping to do a few days there in the New Year as we barely touched the sides on our day trip, probably on the 🚂 next time.

Another day with free electricity when PG towers is turned into a 🇨🇳 laundry with me feeding the washing machine GG - can’t trust my Dhobi Wallah as he sticks coloureds in with my white bed linen with such deliberate nonchalance 🤬 despite the threat of demotion, divorce and dispatch to the outer reaches of the Commonwealth…

I’ll also trot to Dad’s as he’s off gallivanting to Goa next week (you see where I get it from…) for a whole month! Wish he’d sit at home where we can keep an eye on him but he does look and feel better after all the sunshine 🌞

May you all have a peaceful Sunday 🙏

I watch the FA cup 1st round game on TV between Brackley and Notts County ,c/w with the local firework display close to the ground ,Brackley beat Notts County on penalties .

Health OK just had a letter as to my diabetes twice yearly checks where I have to give Blood pressure average plus height and weight , signed I assume by my new GP.
