Good ornimg from Bristol. After fairly heavy rain in the early evening, I think it’ll be dry today.
The water which was cut off in the early morning, due to a burst main, came back for about 20 minutes before being cut off again. It was back by the time I got home from Spanish.
I would have been ok - I have a tank for the immersion heater and could have used a bucket from that for flushing the loo. Food wise, everything was already cooked/prepared.
It just shows how unprepared we are for cuts of that sort!
The Spanish class rarely takes the route the tutor had prepared, but he’s happy to let us branch off into various tangents.
The rest of the day was quiet. I finished the baby quilt, made from the leftover block from the previous quilt.
Church coffee this morning, probably make marmalade (from a tin) this afternoon; I have nothing in stock.
May your weekend be kind. Carpe diem 🦩🦤🦩🦩🦩

Forgot quilt photo.

Good morning from s somerset, bright and slightly cooler today. Should be a very nice day

That gansey has arrived, is a perfect fit and looks wonderful on ds, so much so that his OH would very much like a knit for herself. I am negotiating sizes with her for the sleeveless vest by Lone Kjeldsen. She has chosen the colour and I am just checking size with her before ordering the yarn. In the meantime I am getting a sock made each day or two. On my third pair at the moment

A day out for me today, I will be driving to Wells, to the Christmas artisan market in the Bishops palace. There will be atmosphere, music etc. It is indoors in a very historic building and I will be soaking up the ancient ambience

Have a good day

Good morning, it’s a damp start here in south Glos, I’m not sure what the forecast is.
I gave art group a miss yesterday, I just couldn’t get my mojo going so did housework, changed the bed etc. At least the house is tidier and there’s just the ironing to do now.
I did do a bit of knitting while listening to podcasts, and slept well so that’s good.
There will be pheasant shooting today so an early dog walk, probably from the village I think as I get bored with the ones closer to home, not that the dogs seem to mind.
Fish and chips from the freezer for dinner, quick and easy.
Have a lovely weekend 🌹

Bellasnana Sat 08-Nov-25 06:15:31

Good morning from Malta where the forecast predicts thundery showers and a high of 23°C. So far it is still dry outside.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 9am so had better prise myself from between the sheets. I find the faff of the morning ritual to get myself showered and presentable requires more of an effort these days!

Did a lot of laundry yesterday which means there is ironing to do today.

Another beautiful quilt grandMattie, you make such lovely things.

Hoping the weekend goes well for you all.☀️

Good morning from Shropshire.

Yesterday was a difficult day DD and SIL were at a wedding in Scotland.I had a call at 7 am to say my dear friend, SIL’s mum had taken a turn for the worse and could I ring them to come home. They got home and we spent hours at the hospital where all treatment had been stopped.I have just received a call to say she has died💔

I am so shocked at the suddenness and so, so sad at her loss but grateful that as we were staying at DD’s I was able to spend time with her chatting and planning on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and so grateful I was able to be with her in the hospital yesterday.

We must try and make the most of every day.
I wish you all the best day possible🦩🌻

Usedtobeblonde Sat 08-Nov-25 06:26:08

Good morning.
What a shock and a sadness for you all Susan.
My condolences.
As you say we must make the most of every day and recognise what is important and what is not.

Good morning all. A mixture of cloudy, sunny, light showers today in Glasgow.

Double checking the date for my Flu, Covid jags are today and not when I had almost reached the surgery on Wednesday. 🤯
New bedroom blinds installed yesterday by a friendly efficient family run business I have used before. Next tasks, investigate leaking roof and a few electrical bits need attention. It’s never ending but fingers crossed, no more house maintenance is on the cards anytime soon.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Morning from S Hants.
My condolences Susan so quickly, how very sad for you all.

It was a damp evening yesterday, think it’s dry today, I'm off to a local craft fair, not as grand as yours karma. Then I’ll tackle the buddlea, it needs a good prune.
Pretty gMattie, I wouldn’t have the patience.

Good morning from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks dry
Sending condolences Susan such sad news 💐
A quiet day here today, hopefully get some gardening done. I might be going out to a social event this evening if my friend can make it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Sat 08-Nov-25 07:05:36

God morning, I have no plans today, which is really welcome.

My condolences Susan56 💐

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. Another damp day.

My condolences Susan.

Not much to do today, yesterday seemed busy although all we really did was a bit of shopping then a visit to DH’s brother on the way home.

I’ve just gone down to put the coffee on, listening for the beep to say it’s ready. Coffee in bed of a morning is one of life’s little pleasures.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

BlueSapphire Sat 08-Nov-25 07:23:26

Good morning everyone from a still dark but dry Northampton. Up early because I would like to get to the shops earlier than usual this morning - a long day ahead.

Dance classes went well yesterday; I do 30 mins of tap, then 45 mins of ballet, followed by 45 mins at the barre; I love the Barre exercises; they force one to concentrate on specific parts of the body and are very focussed.

Poured with rain on the way home, but managed to avoid drowning!

Off on the bus to the shops soon, a bit sad really as our M&S Cafe is closing today, (as are many over the country) so I shall make the most of my last coffee and bun... It was well-used and I shall miss the friendly girls serving. It also served a social need, as many people used it for meet-ups and for some it may have been their only trip out in the week.

A late lunch/early dinner, then out on the buses to the other side of town, where DD's concert band is giving a Remembrance Day concert, which is always very good and well attended.

Such sad news for you, Susan. flowersflowers

Wishing all a pleasant day.

ginny Sat 08-Nov-25 07:25:07

Good morning. A. dull damp start today in N. Bucks.
Local food shop and an hour in the garden this morning.
This evening I am going to a concert with DD2. Various music genres and some tap dancers !
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way,

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.
Art yesterday and for once, I was reasonably happy with my effort which I will use for my Xmas card.
Second night of sleeping with my mouth taped. I’m a snorer and always wake with a sry mouth and fatigued, will see if it helps…

Off on a bus trip to Lichfield, sarnies and flask at the ready. Have been once before but don’t remember much.
Condolences Susan, very sad and thoughts to all🌺

monk08 Sat 08-Nov-25 07:28:48

Good morning all from the Black country, curtains still closed so don't know what the weather is doing.

My condolences Susan💐.

Today I'm taking Dgs1 to look for clothes that's what he wants for his 10th birthday on Friday, I shall meet him after he has finished his gymnastics.

Friends coming later and we shall go over to the club.

Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

luluaugust Sat 08-Nov-25 07:29:02

Good morning from a bright W Kent
Condolences Susan
We are off to DS and DIL’s for lunch today which will be a nice change of routine. DGD1 is home for a reading week so I shall enjoy a catch up.
Best wishes

Good morning from a lovely fine day in Torbay.

What sad and sudden news for you all, Susan56! Condolences and hugs. 💐

Another lovely quilt, grandMattie!

I understand about the morning struggle to get started, Bellasnana! It’s hard to imagine my working days which often saw me up marking books by 5.00am then tackling ironing ahead of a full day's teaching! I blame the cocktail of medication I take for various conditions.

Coffee morning at church for me whilst DH will go by bus to Newton Abbot for a model railway exhibition. He’s not entitled to a bus pass due to his permanent address being in France but a Day Rider is only £7.50 which is good value for the four bus journeys he’ll take, there and back.

Happy weekend, where possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Redcar Sat 08-Nov-25 07:36:07

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s cloudy, mild and a bit damp after yesterday evening’s rain.
I emptied the ironing basket yesterday and finally got around to doing some dusting! I did upstairs yesterday and will clean downstairs today as I doubt I’ll see anyone today. I may watch the Lady Mayors Show on tv. We used to go to watch it when we lived in London as some friends had connections with one of the Livery Companies.

susan sending condolences on your loss.

karma the Christmas artisan market sounds most interesting and enjoyable!
As always thinking of those who are struggling in any way.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Greyduster Sat 08-Nov-25 07:36:44

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun has just appeared over the horizon. I think we have a dry day in prospect. I had a chat on the phone with DS last night, immediately followed by my BF, very contrite because she had forgotten, for the first time in our forty three year relationship, to send me a birthday card. I assured her it mattered not a bit - that we are still friends after all this time is more than enough for me.
Today I have nothing particular to do - I may take a trip into town on the tram. I have some Waterstones vouchers burning a hole in my pocket!
Susan my condolences💐.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Greyduster Sat 08-Nov-25 07:39:58

Redcar I remember DH and I wandering about the area round St Paul’s when they were mustering all the troops and other elements of the Lord Mayor’s parade. Every back street, nook and cranny was filled with people, horses, etc. ready to set off. What a feat of organisation. It was more amazing then the parade itself.

Grandmabatty Sat 08-Nov-25 07:41:22

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and wet. Susan my condolences to you all. What a shock. GrandMattie another lovely quilt.
Yesterday I did an hour's work in the school library then home to tidy up. Dd called in for her washing. Dgs2 was very tearful and they didn't stay. He looked woebegone, the poor boy. I had an unintended nap in the afternoon. I was resting my leg and my eyes just closed. 😂
Today I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at the local garden centre. We haven't met up for a few weeks so there will be much blethering. I need to fit in a trip to Aldi as I'm out of bread and milk. Then I'll strip the bed and get the last of the washing done. A bit of polishing and hoovering will complete the housework. Have a good day all.
