Good Morning Everyone,

Up to my usual routine with a bus journey to and from Bicester , hopefully chat to those I know .

Good morning from the west midlands. An overcast, blustery day here today. I'm still down-sizing and I'm ruddy fed-up with it to be honest! I came across a picture that looked just like DH's fling-woman! So my mission today will be to bash-it-up and swear at it a lot. Then, with a flourish of triumph, chuck it in the bin where it absolutely belongs. "Hell has no fury like a woman scorned!"
Men! 🤔

Good morning everyone from a dark rainy East Coast.
The school run last night was difficult with the heavy rain we had. Part of it is on the motorway which I avoided with speeds and standing water so felt it was safer going cross country. My grandson took the change of route well as he can find little changes of routine hard.

I am spending the afternoon with my mum and we are going to visit another elderly relative. Mum doesn’t really go out in the winter she stays cosy with her little dog in front of her tv which she calls her lifeline to the world so it’s going to be a nice change for her today. I often say to her shall I treat you out for lunch mum and her words are ‘why would you do that I have food at home.’

DH has gone to clean our DS old house after his move ready to sell and he says in parts it’s a bit grim. Oh dear I thought I’d taught him better than that but he’s a busy man and doesn’t look below the surface so I’ll forgive him. My DH is fastidious though about that sort of thing so it will be spotless.

Sending a whole bunch of 💐to Dragonfly who is struggling so much but thinking of others too who often find some difficulty getting through the day.
Hoping there are sparks of joy today 🍁

Mary doll I meant to say I am delighted that you have finally seen a dr who listened to you.
Onward and upward my dear friend 💪💪💪

I’ve caught up with everyone while waiting for the laundry to finish.

A positive grandmab. Wonderful

Aldom if it’s possible to generalise from our last moving experience the more mature we get the longer it takes to feel part of a new community. You’ll get there I’m sure. Gradually you’ll find links to your interests and friendship will grow. It’s natural to miss established friends.

Good news maryd. All it takes is someone to listen.

dragonfly flowers.

Hope there’s sense about your heater grandmattie. What a palaver.

Apologies to those I’ve missed. The old brain isn’t what it was,

Good Morning, damp and dark here in Co Armagh
Got lots done yesterday, the greenhouse is nice and tidy and gave up on some cuttings and chucked them
Madeline I don’t drive , my mobility isn’t great , my answer is my rollator , it folds down and can go in the boot os behind the front seats , I get to the garden I want to visit , my rollator is set up and I can walk to where I want to go , it has a good seat and a useful container under the seat , so I can walk to a good spot and sit down to take in the view
I can quite a distance , I’m off to a nice garden next week and will be able to get to every corner , sometimes kind companions have to lift it up or down steps while I can negotiate most flights if there’s a rail to clutch
Marydollso glad you got listened to
Dragonfly hoping for improvements

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire.

I have had my breakfast and meds, showered and dressed. Putting my boots on ready for our usual morning walk around the Dock.

GP rang at 8am, kidney function test was low and I need to increase my fluid intake. It’s difficult finding a balance as too much fluid will adversely affect my sodium level. Repeat blood test in 2 weeks.

Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles, as always.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a damp northwest coast after a restless night full of dreams. I dreamt I was about to sing solo in a large work I didn’t know and was engaged to a man from the opera company. Wasn’t sure if I wanted to go through with it, nice as he is. I’ll see him tomorrow at the rehearsal but won’t breathe a word of our engagement 😁

Not sure why I didn’t sleep well as I was jolly tired after a day with old friends, meeting up at 12 and they didn’t leave until around 9 in the evening. They liked my local newish restaurant very much and we get on like a house on fire.
Music club this afternoon but I’d quite like a stay at home day.
dragonfly 💐and thoughts to all.

mamaa Tue 11-Nov-25 09:43:57

Grandmabatty hurrah indeed! (and its posts like this that a like button would come in useful) grin wink x

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Nov-25 09:40:41

Gingster same for weeks now 🤬

I come out of my house each morning to a guessing game of spot the traffic lights

It must be horrendous for local businesses 🤷‍♀️

Kalu Tue 11-Nov-25 09:40:09

Dragonfly. Sending you a shed load of love and strength to get you through your own current difficult times. Look after yourself too. 🌹

Good morning everyone from a grey and wet Northampton, feeling quite chilly.indoors so the heating is on.

A busy morning yesterday, making the Christmas puddings; they have to go in the freezer once cooled down, so they have been in the fridge overnight, well fed with Cointreau! Shall venture to the garage freezer with them when I'm dressed. I will need to make another batch of sausage rolls and also some mince pies soon.

No time to do a lot this morning except to shower and dress, and have an early lunch, as I need to be out by 12.30 to get the bus to town. Meeting a friend at the cinema to see 'The Choral', the new Alan Bennett film about a Yorkshire choral society in WW1. It has had wonderful reviews. Hope I don't spend the time coughing!

Hope.your heater is fixed today grandMattie.

Wishing all a pleasant day,.especially those struggling with life at the moment.

GrannySomerset Tue 11-Nov-25 09:18:29

Have awoken with a bad back for which there is no explanation, and it is bed changing/mattress turning day too! Have various dull admin tasks as well, so a rather dull day in prospect.

So glad to read Marydoll’s piece - just being properly heard will be life enhancing, and if the right treatment is prescribed and works that is even better. Not being listened to seems to be a real problem for us as we age, and I do hope something positive comes out of this recent appointment.

Good morning from damp s somerset

Up late after a rare long sleep and I had to run out with the bins, I only noticed it was bin day after pushing the window covers out of the way

MD at last, at long last, I hope that this is the turning point to having confidence in your own health again

I have been watching lady C after her dreadful accident, no fault of her own and she too is so stoic, in spite of the greatest pain. Her treatment has also been scandalous until the moment a good old-school surgeon stepped into the picture. Our friends in the old days were old school but one by one they retired and are now replaced by computers and AI and a barrage of mechanical questions

My ocado order yesterday was not as large as I expected, I thought it would be larger because of the expense but I did have coffee beans and an expensive protein powder, to bump up the cost It was easy to stash away and I am set for whatever winter throws this way

I had the typical hibernation cosy day yesterday and today I would like to get to the allotment for some veg then back to cosy. I need to bring logs indoors, to keep in my cloakroom but I am hoping now to save them for the `what if` situations, gas can take the strain until then. My old wicker shopping baskets do sterling work as log holders

I do hope that the heater is fixed today GM yet another case of the elderly being ignored

Have a good day

Good Morning from a dull, wet Durham. It’s been raining since last night. I woke early, still dark, but managed to drop off again.
DD2 got a different courtesy car yesterday - not ideal, but it fits the bill, so a load off my mind and it’s back to PlanA.
I have piles!! A pile of ironing and a pile of admin to work through - must get them done.
Lovely to read Marydoll’s post today - some progress at last, but how infuriating to have such a useless GP.
My thoughts go to those feeling unwell, or caring for their loved ones.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from N.Bucks. It is wet under foot but seems to be brightening.
DGS1 is coming over for lunch today. Sadly he has been made redundant from his job so is spending each day searching and updating his cv. It will be good to have a nice chat with him and for him to relax a little.
Looking forward to choir this evening especially as last week was called due to our leader being ill.
Good wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Good morning from a dark and rainy Black Country.

Walked to Line Dancing in the pouring rain yesterday afternoon, and back again 90 minutes later, and it was still pouring down!

Doctors appointment this morning, then hairdressers this afternoon. I know how to live smile

Dragonfly flowers

I can imagine how you must miss your friends etc Aldom. Hopefully you will find new activities to join. If you like walking there are bound to be walking groups in your new area.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Nov-25 08:21:24

Marydoll you must be so relieved that a medical professional has actually listened to you 🌸

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Nov-25 08:20:32

kittylester don’t worry I helped John Lewis keep their profits up, with my purchases yesterday.

(Fortunately I was at Bluewater with DS4 and his wife, when my bags were to heavy (and numerous) I rang him and he would come and find me and take them to the car, so I could carry on 😹👏👏👏)

monk08 Tue 11-Nov-25 08:16:40

Good morning all from a dull Black country yesterday started lovely and sunny but by 10am it was nonstop rain.
We had our first Christmas card yesterday so it prompted me to write some think this will be last year of posting any, postage will be over £20 would rather donate it.
Iceland shop and I have a bag for Sue Ryder to drop in.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️

Gingster Tue 11-Nov-25 08:14:34

Good morning all and the sky is brightening here in Essex.

Yesterday was disruptive as I was just about to leave for Chimes group, having sorted Dh out and was told by him that he would be fine, Dd came in after school drop off to say that our town was gridlocked with 3 and 4 way traffic lights. She had taken over an hour to get to school. I quickly phoned teacher to apologise that I wouldn’t be able to get to her. I felt bad as she has to work out the music according to how many of us will be there.

Apparently it will be the same all week. Beware GG if you’re coming this way.

Today I’m having a pedicure and Dh is going for breakfast with his old school pal.

This afternoon we have a physio coming to help Dh with his balance and walking. We’ll book a few sessions and see how it goes.

No Bridge Club for me today.

Aldom I can imagine how you must feel, but I’m sure you will settle in time. You have lots to focus on with getting your new abode just right for you. Plenty of time to look out for new clubs, hobbies and adventures. 😉.

Dragonfly. 🙏, keep your chin up.
Liberty I hope your journey is trouble free.🤞

Take care all ♥️

Good morning from an overcast Kent. Up at sparrowfart💨 as I have my long awaited rheumatologist appointment at 09.00 - only waited 13 weeks for an urgent appointment!
Marydoll I am so pleased that you had a good consultation yday. We are obviously cut from the same cloth as I have a spreadsheet of steroid doses since April and a potted medical history of relevant info ready to thrust into their hand!
DH has just come in from a night shift so is taking me to the William Harvey. Poor chap will probably fall asleep in the chair.
My trip to Scotland last week was exhausting, emotionally and physically. My 93 yo mummy is frail and in a lot of pain but still managed a blether. I missed seeing Marydoll by a few hours which was a shame. Her hairdresser is across the street from my mummy’s house. DH had plans for his birthday (05/11) so we didn’t get to see her.
Hope all have a good day. Update tomorrow as to the rheumatologist- if I survive!

grandMattie Tue 11-Nov-25 08:09:05

No idea where “consultant” came from! Ash, I meant life,
etc. …
