Good morning to all the night owls
I m late waking this morning and seem to have missed my
3 am slot however 4.30 am will do ( 4 and a half hours is positively a very long sleep for me) who knows I might even drop of again for a doze before I get up at 6 ready for some work
So who s around ?

grandMattie Tue 16-Dec-25 07:30:44

Me too, blue, I accept things as they are but I’m just curious.

Aveline Tue 16-Dec-25 08:23:42

It was an interesting thought to consider the number if hours slept across the week. Maybe it evens out? I don't know. Am off to find my calculator...

NanKate Tue 16-Dec-25 09:16:01

Well said BlueBelle from this day forth I will go with the flow. Not analyse what gave me a rubbish night. Onward and upward.

Mollygo Wed 17-Dec-25 02:43:44

It’s another bad night here. You would think that an evening at aquafit would mean a good night.
Not tonight.

BlueBelle Wed 17-Dec-25 03:16:56

Morning all
Dead on 3 am today, anyway I m warm, cuddled down in my sleeping bag i ve put the radio on for a little while and probably do a few online puzzles then see what happens
I hope everyone is warm and pain free and manages to nod off for a bit longer
👋 x

Haven’t posted on here for a while, because it’s just on repeat. I don’t go to bed until 2am, and I’m quite content to get 4 hours sleep - it doesn’t concern me at all - that’s my normal. It’s very cold here in Durham and the heating firing up has woken me. Might nip downstairs for a cuppa, but then again, might not.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 17-Dec-25 03:22:05

Hi Mollygo. I am wideawake too. Made a cup of tea and have sorted some paperwork which has been sitting in a pile waiting. Easy to do sitting in bed with a rubbish bin on the floor beside me ready.

At least its gone 3 and not midnight. There is no rhyme nor reason. I am not cold and didn't need the loo. Just woke up. I have many DH health worries but not especially extra worried tonight.

I will drink my tea and then read my book and hope for a bit more zzzzzz.

grandMattie Wed 17-Dec-25 05:13:19

Despite a fractured night, I managed enough 💤. I have a busy day ahead and shan’t manage my usual postprandial nap.

Unlike you, Helter, I have absolutely no worries of any sort, no pain, just can’t manage an uninterrupted night’s sleep. I wonder why.

Erica23 Wed 17-Dec-25 06:59:46

Hi bad night here, off and on all night, finally gave up at 5. I’ve got a busy day too, shopping this morning, dog sitting at lunch time then the school run.

BlueBelle Wed 17-Dec-25 07:54:26

Really this is just for a chat and to feel you’re not alone Georgesgran it doesn’t have to be a sleeping chart 🤣

Just a moan or a groan or any old thing, weather anything going on anything worrying you, just a general chat so people don’t feel so lonely in the middle of the night

I know people often can’t sleep with things on their minds and it’s good to know there’s someone there to share it with even in the wee dark hours 🤗

Usedtobeblonde Wed 17-Dec-25 08:40:35

Last night in desperation I took an antihistamine and slept for over 6 hours, a minor miracle.
Fluke or not I shall try again tonight, I feel so much better today.

grandMattie Thu 18-Dec-25 04:20:36

I hope the pill worked a second time, utbb. A good night is such a bonus, isn’t it.

Been awake since 0330, but it was uninterrupted. Brilliant, and I was tired after a mega long and busy day.

Mollygo Thu 18-Dec-25 05:20:53

That was a good night for a change. I’ve a load of things to do so I’m debating whether to get up and go or snuggle down and read.

BlueBelle Thu 18-Dec-25 06:10:05

BlueBelle Thu 18-Dec-25 06:50:54

Whooppeee

Esmay Thu 18-Dec-25 07:06:57

After a happy and calm day yesterday I had a terrible night and woke up after a terrifying nightmare in which I was knifed by a family member and laughed at and disbelieved by medical staff .
I was glad to wake up !

Mollygo Thu 18-Dec-25 08:28:10

Esmay
That’s dreadful, even in a dream. Certainly not as WS says, a “ Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care.”
I’d rather stay awake. Have a good day.

Aveline Thu 18-Dec-25 08:44:51

I had rather a broken night and several confusing dreams. I was so cross with DH this morning for doing something daft in a dream! Poor man. He apologised!

Wyllow3 Thu 18-Dec-25 08:54:58

Oh, a bad night! After not to going to sleep by 2, I went downstairs to try some filing, and it eventually worked by 3am. As I currently have a heavy cold, I now have a brain completely unsuited to the day ahead...

Wyllow3 Thu 18-Dec-25 08:55:32

I bet you were glad to wake up there, Esmay.

JamesandJon33 Thu 18-Dec-25 10:00:04

Do you all dream in colour?

JamesandJon33 Fri 19-Dec-25 02:53:53

Bore da ladies. Back to waking in the middle of the night. I’ve been making lists in my head for half an hour. I think I’ll read my kindle for a while and then try to sleep again.

Usedtobeblonde Fri 19-Dec-25 03:52:03

Good morning all.
After two decent nights I have been awake for a couple of hours now.
I have been to the loo twice, tossed and turned to no avail and have now opened my iPad which I try not to do as Iknow I will read now and that will be a mistake.
I learned the evening before last of the death of a friend which was unexpected and yesterday was spent reminiscing with others and has kept my mind turning over and over .
Out for a family meal tonight so I must try to relax either now or with a nap later or I shall be too tired to enjoy.
Sorry I am rambling now, the sign of being over tired.

Esmay Fri 19-Dec-25 04:53:51

Dozed off yesterday and had a daymare though it wasn't as bad as the one that I had before .
I got ready to go put at five and started to feel really off - wheezy and a sore throat.
Slept for nine hours .
