Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle where it has evidently rained in the night. The snow word was mentioned on the forecast.
Yesterday I walked out early to catch the post, everything was frosty white and looked very pretty. My birdbath remained frozen all day. Did I feel cold after my return from Australia! It's really hot there at the moment.
I warmed up giving the entire house a vacuuming and changing the bed. Two loads of laundry done but had to be hung inside.
Today I'm into town for my covid and flu jabs. I'm not looking forward to the after-effects of the former. When it was Pfizer, no problem but Moderna lays me out with fluey symptoms. If it does so this time, that may be the last of covid jabs for me. I can't afford the time to be lying around unwell apart from the unpleasantness of it.
I will return to bathroom and kitchen cleaning until lunchtime and after lunch, reading and writing plus a little admin. I'm also expecting a delivery of weights to start a regime of strength training. How long will that last?!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very chilly South Yorkshire. The heating seems to be struggling this morning. I am late this morning, having had a broken night.

Yesterday’s trip into town was fruitful - I only missed one intended purchase and I must have walked past the shop twice! I had a foray into our covered market to buy some meat and stopped to marvel at one of the stalls that has a vast array of every kind of fresh fish you can imagine, all beautifully displayed. It reminded me of a visit to Harrods fish counter once. I wish I’d take a photo. The meat counter was busy too. I always buy from the same one when I want something special that I can’t get from a supermarket - we have no local butchers now. It’s a family run business that has been there since I was a child. My mother used to buy meat there. I also bought a couple of poetry books from Waterstones, with coffee and a scone in their cafe.

School this afternoon. Rain is forecast so I may have to take the car☹️.

Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning everyone from a very cold and wintry Inverness, some light snow is just starting to fall ..🥶
Sar53 so sorry to hear S is having such a tough time 💐
It’s back to my usual routine today with an aerobics class at the gym this morning and then a volunteering session this afternoon. It’s lovely being away but feels good to get home and back to normal.
Safe journey to your DH Ash, good that he’ll be back soon
Enjoy your catch up kitty and the others
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning everyone from a frosty mid Essex. Showers are forecast for later, rain I think rather than the white stuff!
A lovely day yesterday, but cold. I had my usual walk and had a chat to my dog walking friends which was nice. Cleaned the bathroom and did some ironing, so felt quite satisfied I’d achieved something.
I’ll go for a walk this morning when the frost has gone. Will clean the kitchen this morning then visit my dementia friend.
Safe journey to your DH ash and to any others on the move today.
I hope your DH’s chemo goes well fgt and that he can tolerate the reduced dosage tablets.

kitty I hope you enjoy your gransnetters meet up this afternoon.

baubles your walk yesterday sounds delightful. I’m envious, my walk around the local recreation ground is getting boring!

Thoughts as ever to those who are suffering in any way.
Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Good morning from W Kent where the sky is very pink. At 7oclock yesterday evening workmen arrived and dug up the road outside our house, they worked all evening and I hope I can get the car out to visit a friend later this morning
Best wishes

Good morning from a frosty Essex coast. Yesterday was lovely and sunny but cold.
I have a dental appointment at 9, at least it's over quickly. No plans for the rest of the day.
S is allergic to cats and dogs and housedust mites. Her lungs are very inflamed and no amount of medication seems to be helping at the moment. She has also had Covid and a chest infection recently which have made things worse.
Safe travels to ODD and fingers crossed 🤞 all goes well for Himself today.
Enjoy your day everyone and best wishes to all xx

Good morning from s somerset, rain sprinkles today and perhaps some sun

It was lovely to meet with the crafty ladies yesterday, everyone has such a good positive outlook in spite of their personal struggles. I love that I have inspirational role models with tales to tell

Today, a cosy day with a couple of short re-bounding sessions at home and yet again, more sock knitting. Grateful too that my boiler is working efficiently.

Have a good day

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.

DH has a blood test at 8.55 - daft idea as our surgery is in town and there are 3 schools and their traffic to negotiate. He then has a volunteer drive at lunchtime.

I am looking forward to meeting up with 3 other gners for a good catchup this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning, it’s just above freezing here in south Glos, the car was heavily frosted when I looked out in the middle of the night.
Yesterday was lovely sunshine but a bitterly cold wind here, we’re actually higher than Brecon on this hillside, little between us and there either!
A faffing around sort of day yesterday, achieving little if I’m honest 😊, beyond cleaning bigger dog up after DH took her out; she’d rolled in fox 💩
I did spend an hour volunteering in the school garden, potted up shallots for the polytunnel and repotting sedums that had been sitting in a bucket for too long and were pretty pongy… It was lovely out of the wind. There’s little to do at this time of year, it’s mainly tidying and maintenance tasks.
Today it’s housework after taking the dogs out, I need to give the kitchen a good sort out. DH’s sister and her DH are coming for lunch on Friday and she’s hypercritical 🙁, pokes her nose into everything. It’s not dirty, just untidy.
At least I can listen to an audiobook as I go!
Best wishes to all 🌹

Good morning from chilly Shropshire.Sunshine and showers forecast today.

We had a lovely drive over to Llandudno yesterday going the scenic route via Betws y Coed. The railway exhibition was very disappointing but a lovely day for a walk along the prom and down the pier.

A slow start today then over to Staffordshire to collect DGS1 from school. He is struggling with his other grandads sudden serious illness and apparently wants to check that we are well🥲

Safe travels to olddudders.

Thoughts with all unwell and struggling.Sar I hope S gets some answers. My eldest daughter suffers with asthma and her teenage years seemed to just be school and rest.Like Bellasnana’s daughter she still has to be careful and is also very allergic to cats!I really hope things settle for S 🙏🏻

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from a still pitch black S E Essex.

The Imp stayed over, he lost his first tooth, apparently it’s £5 from the tooth fairy 🧚‍♀️ for the first one 🤷‍♀️

Today is the day when I get out all the Christmas gifts, sort them out and make a list of the last few things I need to get.

Might even start wrapping 🎁

Thinking of our dear FGT2 and himself 🙋‍♀️😘

Thanks to the boys, I've caught a cold, as has dd. So like Mr C, lots of sneezing and a sore throat and head

Grandmabatty Tue 18-Nov-25 06:32:51

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and wet. Baubles what a lovely heirloom to make. Ashcombe safe journey to your DH. GrandMattie you certainly pack a lot into your days!
Yesterday was early childcare day. The boys were both up very early. In fact dgs2 had been up playing in the middle of the night and his in his brother's wardrobe 😂 I dropped them off without incident, thank goodness and spent a busy hour in the school library, putting books away, tidying shelves and repairing some books. Then home to rest my leg which was painful yesterday and wait for deliveries. After the boys were picked up later, I made dinner and then had a very early night. The upshot was, I slept really well for three hours then woke and I've been awake since two more or less. Very annoying.
Today I'll get the boys, feed them breakfast then take them to school. Then I'm heading back to bed for a sleep. I don't function well without it! My leg is still troublesome too. Then later I'll pick them up again. At the moment, they are watching Peter Rabbit on tv and that gives me respite from playing shops. Have a good day all

Morning Mick, morning All. No idea what it’s doing outside as I’ve not stirred yet. Forecast is light rain later.

Yes a beautiful day yesterday , we thoroughly enjoyed pottering back home via coffee with an old friend. All a bit different to navigating a flooded lane in torrential rain on Friday. The car is a gentle shade of field. A very relaxed and happy weekend with good friends was worth it.

Not sure about today as Mr C spent yesterday evening sneezing and looking decidedly ‘off’. The planned a lunch at our favourite garden centre may be postponed if the resident germ magnet is true to form although he is prone to allergic rhinitis so I’ve 🤞.

Ash I have found when results disappear from Patient Access they are still visible via the NHS app, no idea why. Safe travels to your husband and all on the move.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. The ground looked damp when I peeked out.

Yes yesterday was a glorious day. We drove to the Clyde Valley and took a walk along the river walkway. The woodland path took us past an animal park where we were able to watch llamas and deer through the wire fence. The clear blue sky, the fast flowing river, the frosty leaves on the ground all made it such fine day and I was grateful to be able to enjoy it.

Back home to delicious slow roasted beef on a bed of vegetables which I had put in the oven before I left. In the evening I took a break from angels and got on with crocheting another little pram blanket. My plan is to leave a stack of them for any future great grandchildren who may arrive.

Charity shop and yarn group today.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Bellasnana Tue 18-Nov-25 06:14:51

Good morning from Malta where a cloudy day is forecast with a high of 25°C.

Yesterday was very warm and I managed to dry two loads of laundry outdoors. Just popped the towels in the dryer to fluff them up a bit as they dry like boards on the line.

I went to fetch the boys from school, my first time doing so as they usually go back and forth with their mum.

I had to present my ID card which was checked and double checked then the two treasures were brought out to me both with big smiles on their faces.

I dropped them off at their home but stayed a while as DD3 is still not too good after her bout of norovirus. She’s staying home again today so I will be picking the boys up again.

The cat sitting is going ok, he is more settled now and not miaowing pitifully as he did when he first arrived. I’ve got him until Saturday.

Sar I was sorry to read your DGD is having such a rotten time of it with asthma flare ups. I can relate as DD3 spent her teen years in and out of hospital on a regular basis, the worst being just before her 19th birthday when she had pneumonia in both lungs and a collapsed lobe on her left lung. I have never been so frightened. She still has to be careful as any chest infection exacerbates the asthma and she is also highly allergic to cats! Otherwise her inhalers seem to keep it under control.

Hope olddudders has a safe journey back to 🇫🇷. All that travelling back and forth would drive me nuts but it clearly works for you which is great.🥰

Wishing you all a good day whatever you are doing.☀️

grandMattie Tue 18-Nov-25 05:58:45

Bon voyage 🛳️ to oldd. I don’t know how you manage this “part-time” marriage, Ash, but I admire both of you.

Ashcombe Tue 18-Nov-25 05:51:01

Good morning from a chilly and cloudy Torbay.

Yeserday was indeed a beautiful crisp, sunny day, grandMattie and my joints were grateful! I walked the short distance to my surgery for a routine blood test. Results were in my records (via Patient Access) last night but, bizarrely, results from a significant time in my history - my stay in hospital last March for sodium deficiency - have been erased! Puzzling.

An early start to take DH to Newton Abbot station as he begins his all day journey back to France. He is due back in time for Christmas. I shall miss him but the rehearsals for it's A Wonderful Life will keep me busy.

A good day to all, especially those facing difficult times.

Good morning from a dry, clear Bristol. Wasn’t yesterday gorgeous? The perfect winter day - cold, crisp, sunny and wind-free.
Yesterday went well. I managed two loads of washing first thing. I don’t put it outside in winter as I get really really too cold, but need to wait until the Economy 7 electricity comes in the dead of night. I hung a few pieces on my drier.
The Tesco shop went well as there was no obligatory coffee, with chat to the lady I don’t especially like.
Once home, I just had time to have a quick sandwich after putting my shopping away, before I went off down the road to the WI meeting. It was the AGM, but since no one has been strong armed into the committee (other than me), it took very little time. There were stalls of the usual expensive tat; the marmalade was nearly twice what I charge!
Home to make two batches of cranberry marmalade; I still have to print off the labels and stick them on. Dinner just needed warming up. Early bed.
Today, we have the residents’ budget —arguments— meeting with Teflon man. It’s going to be very wearing.
In the afternoon, I have a (pointless) church thing; I have to go as I’m on the PCC, otherwise I’d give it a wide berth.
In the evening, a PCC meeting. Mercifully, these are well chaired and don’t last much more than an hour.
All the prayers and best wishes to the fgts for their visit to the Christie today.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
