Yes I really agree put up a sign saying no junk mail. We keep an eye on our neighbours property when she is away and this has happened on a number of occasions. It does advertise that the occupant is probably on holiday. We normally just push it through the letterbox or pull it out whichever is the easiest. Yes also to much junk mail is also delivered by Royal Mail.

Yes do put up a sign, an open letterbox will let cold air in as you say. You could also try purchasing an electric over blanket, they are not too expensive and with Black Friday coming up you could snap up a bargain. My DH and I both have one, it doesn’t use much electric and means that we can be warm and toasty and dial down the heating.

Put up a sign saying No leaflets, junk mail or flyers. I deliver for a political party and woe betide us if we ignore those signs or don't push leaflets all thexway through.

On this freezing cold day I am trying to keep warm myself and keep the heat in my flat. I have kept curtains closed for quite a while until I really need to look out, made sure that doors are closed etc, only to find that someone has shoved leaflets in my door, which did not fall to the floor, so are there keeping the letterbox open and letting in cold air. Luckily I am only just about to go out or they could have been there all day, not only letting cold air in, but letting people know that I am out. I am extremely annoyed by this , but the person had gone before I could see them.

I have looked through the leaflets and actually send an email to 2 of the people explaining what has happened, that they should make sure that these leaflets are posted properly through the boxes as they are at the moment, not only advertising that I am not in but they will not be remembered for what they offer to do , but for the annoyance and waste of money their leaflets have caused. Whether it will make the slightest difference I have no idea, but at least it let me have a moan about it. It is bad enough in the summer but right now I am very annoyed about it. What do others do?
