Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark with a wet ground outside and also cold here in Brackley .
My usual routine with a bus trip to and from Bicester, chat to those I know as well.
Have lunch on return , my health is OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick from a very windy Wales - dratted 💨 has woken me up so a siesta is on the cards for later 😴

A trot out to see a fillum this afternoon, Nuremberg with the marvellous Russell Crowe, then a meal at a new-to-us restaurant which has had mixed reviews from friends. They’re offering 50% off food on Wednesdays through November so an ideal time to try it!😋

Hope OD made it back safely Ash and all with journeys to make likewise. Interesting that the railway exhibition didn’t impress Susan, an aficionado friend raved about it but we know he’d sit, riveted, for hours watching a model railway…🫨

I shall pop in this evening and hope for good news x

Good morning from a cold dry Bristol. No frost, but it’s quite breezy.
Yesterday’s meeting with Teflon man was spent listening to him apologise for work not done. I think the contractors they employ are hopeless. Too many people to pass the requests to, so things get missed, put to one side, etc. in a sense, he gets the flack for others. Some things are being done, we even have dates!
On the subject of manager, the third advert had brought only two promising applicants. If not suitable, he’ll have to get agency staff in.
The PCC meeting in the evening gave us the reason there is and won’t be heating in the church. The 50yo boiler was flooded last weekend. They have to find out if it is possible/worth repairing it. If not, some £100k needs to be found to replace it with something more modern and in accordance with the CoE’s ethos. It’s going to be a long, cold winter.
I did find out that our FAB cafe is officially the most successful/well attended in Bristol. And after only 12 months!
Today, I’ve prepared stuff for the FAB cafe attendees to cut out, ready to decorate our Christmas tree next month. It’s only the logos of FAB cafe and AgeUK, but they are colourful and advertise what we do.
I hope all went well with fgt’s Himself’s yesterday. I’m pleased to see that MD is trying to practice what she preaches re. not doing too much.
Maybtoday bring comfort/relief to those I haven’t mentioned.

Good morning from chilly South Lanarkshire. We had the first flurry of snow yesterday evening and this morning I can hear cars crunching along the road so it’s obviously frozen over.

It was a busy day in the shop yesterday, I was kept going all afternoon.

We’ve loads of extra squares left over from the Christmas tree project so last night we started making bunting with them which we will put up somewhere in the town. Another afternoon ahead in a cold barn working on the tree, fingers crossed the weather will improve.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Malta where the sun has left us and we are expecting a cloudy day with rain showers and a high of 21°C.

Not much going on today although, weather permitting, I need to walk up to the village to do a couple of errands.

Yesterday I picked the boys up from school again, they are always so happy to see me, it warms my heart.

DD3 is back to work today so I’m surplus to requirements again although am still looking after my grandcat Winston! He’s no trouble at all. Rather a timid chap but he does let me stroke him and purrs away happily.

Hoping you all have a good day. Thoughts always with our mountaineers.☀️

Good morning from a chilli breezy Torbay.

Thank you for the good wishes for Olddudders returning home yesterday and for your inquiry this morning, Pantglas2. I am pleased to report that he had a perfect journey and was in his own house about 12 hours after leaving here. Sometimes the connections work better than others. The flat does feel empty without him because he is such good company, but I have a busy few weeks ahead and he will be back the week before Christmas. We usually have a Zoom chat every day.

I should think the success of the FAB Café is largely due to your input, grandMattie, especially the edible treats you provide. My church needed a new boiler just after I moved here and they managed to raise enough money from donations to start the work and then the church took out a loan for the rest.

I hope we shall see some pictures of your Christmas tree project when it is completed, baubles and I trust you have some thermals to keep out the cold while working on it!

This afternoon we shall review last week’s play at Wednesday Club and then I have the final choir practice tonight before our performance of the Bach on Saturday.

Happy hump day to you all! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Chilli = chilly! 🙄

Jaxjacky Wed 19-Nov-25 06:18:50

Morning from a chilly, damp S Hants, 4 and light rain, smooth journey for odd good to hear.
I too hope himself had a painless treatment yesterday.
I was scouting for festive greenery yesterday, not to cut yet, just spotting sources for nearer the time.
That and some housework which continues today, then I must sort out our mobile phones, both are beginning to show their age, rather like me.
I’ll get out for a walk, it’s only round our estate, I like spotting the changes in peoples gardens as the seasons change.
Have a pleasant day if you can, or at least an easier one.

Good morning, it’s been raining overnight and here in south Glos apparently it’s supposed to be snowing by 7! Dog walking will be fun this morning….
I sorted out my kitchen yesterday, including cleaning the windows inside, go me! Today I will tackle the living / dining room and wash the throws etc.
Tiddler disappeared yesterday, eventually turning up under the duvet in my bed! The dogs aren’t allowed upstairs, she sneaked up when DH wasn’t looking, cheeky little monkey. She didn’t look at all sorry!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

harrigran Wed 19-Nov-25 06:30:07

Good morning from a cold windy NE, seemed very light for the time of day so looked out of the window. It is snowing and lying 🥶
Not sure whether my sister will visit today as weather conditions will deter them.
SIL should be in the UK today, hope his journey is without issue.
Thoughts are with FGT.
Have a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 19-Nov-25 06:39:31

Good morning, it feels chilly here in Essex this morning.

I am off to the gym this morning, then I will go into the local card shop for family Christmas cards and birthday cards.

Started wrapping gifts yesterday, I only need one little something extra for a DiL, then I am finished.

Thinking if FGT2 and all our morning friends with illness or worries 🌸

kittylester Wed 19-Nov-25 06:59:08

Good morning all from a very cold North Leicestershire.

Our cleaner will come at 9. DH is off to the gym and then we are off to try to finish the Christmas shopping.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 19-Nov-25 07:08:15

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently -3° and dry. No sign of snow here yet, thank goodness.
GrandMattie I think you are very much responsible for the success of the FAB café. Grannygravy I am very impressed with your Christmas present organisation!
Yesterday I had a quiet day until I picked up the boys from school/nursery. The Care Commission were in the nursery doing an inspection and the nursery manager asked if I would talk to them. I was delighted as I think it's a good wee nursery. So I burbled on, hearing dgs2 in the background shouting,"grandma!" Then home with the boys. My friend sent me a long voice message last night, before the football and that cheered me. The eventual result cheered me more. It's over 20 years since Scotland qualified for the world cup.
I had a slightly better sleep last night. Foolishly I had forgotten to change the alarm from last week and it went off at 5.15. I was not impressed as I was in a deep sleep. Today is both D's and dgs2s birthday. Dgs2 was very excited yesterday. Ds, not so much 😂. I'll head to the school library for an hour later then home to wrap dgs2s gifts and I'll see him later, after nursery. Ds was hoping to come through but work has prevailed. I gave him his present on Sunday. Apart from that, it'll be a quiet day. I might make some braised red cabbage a la Delia and freeze most of it. Dinner is still a question. It'll be from the freezer I expect. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Shropshire where we have sleet at the moment.Due for a day of winter sunshine from 9.

We had a lovely few hours with DGS1 yesterday. He usually goes to after school club but had requested we collect him yesterday. When he came onto the playground and saw us waiting he jumped up and down smiling and waving🥰🥲He’s such a love and good company.DD and SIL had a few hours to visit SIL’s dad in hospital.

DD1’s FIL has asked me to read at A’s funeral.I feel very honoured but nervous. The church is huge.

Pant we heard other people raving about the exhibition too!

GrannyGravy I am the opposite of you in that instead of one present to buy I have only bought one😩

Hoping all in pain have had a better night and that all appointments and treatments went well.Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻

EkwaNimitee Wed 19-Nov-25 07:18:13

Good morning Mick and everyone from damp, dark Carlisle.

Yesterday I went into town for my covid and flu jabs. I got them in different arms this time, new policy I suppose...What it results in is two sore arms so there is no pain-free one to sleep on. It was Pfizer, thank goodness, which has not so far given any unpleasant side effects unlike Moderna. Afterwards, I did a few errands, getting some christmas cards for the family and donating several pairs of trousers that no longer fit to a charity shop. I'm resigned to the fact that I will not lose weight till I can stop taking the wretched steroids.
Today, some bathroom cleaning that I didn't get round to yesterday and maybe a walk later or possibly continue planting my naturalising crocuses in the lawn if it's not too cold.

Do have a good day everyone if possible.

Sar53 Wed 19-Nov-25 07:20:42

Good morning from a damp Essex coast, it doesn't feel quite as cold as yesterday.
DH will drop me off in town this morning as I have something i need to return. A quick mooch around the shops then I'll catch the train home.
Have a good day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Redcar Wed 19-Nov-25 07:24:51

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cold and wet out, but rain not snow. Not sure if I’ll go for a walk today and I can’t decide whether to go to yoga or not. My back is slightly better and I don’t know if yoga will improve it or make it worse.
I visited my friend with dementia yesterday, she was warm and cosy in bed and asleep most of the time. The house was cold though and it took me ages to warm up when I got home.
Her DH had about 3 layers of jumpers on! He was fiddling with the heating thermostat when I left!

Good that your DH had an uneventful journey back to France ash. You must be pleased that your FAB cafe is so successful grandmattie, you’ve put a lot of effort into it.

Best wishes to everyone who is in difficulty at the moment, be that physical, mental or weather related.
Stay warm and safe everyone, and have the best day possible.

brook2704 Wed 19-Nov-25 07:38:21

Good morning everyone from a very cold and wintry Inverness, we’ve a light covering of snow with more forecast for later today
Well done with the success of the FAB cafe gMattie it wouldn’t be so successful without you
A very Happy Birthday to your DGS and DS grandmabatty I hope they both have a lovely day
Today I’m going to the gym and then home for an online volunteering session this afternoon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

monk08 Wed 19-Nov-25 07:40:49

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Playgroup this morning possibly busy again as I know at least 2 of the helpers are not available today.
If not to tired afterwards will do some housework.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

cornergran Wed 19-Nov-25 07:51:29

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset was dry, a few rain (I hope) spots on the window now. The forecast is for a dry, chilly day with some sun. Hope it’s right.

Mr C stopped sneezing, we found a quiet table away from folk for a lunch and did little else. We both seem to be incubating something. My voice has been coming and going since Monday much to Mr C’s enjoyment, both coughing we’re also sharing a headache and general weariness. The friends we spent the weekend with are fine. I’m both thankful and envious.

Not sure what today will bring. A lot of rest interspersed with a little activity maybe. Poor old souls 😂. Minor in the scheme of things. It will pass. Nothing I have to do until volunteering on Friday, by then I am determined to be fighting fit.

Best wishes to all.

Greyduster Wed 19-Nov-25 07:54:40

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a very chilly damp South Yorkshire. Yesterday I hoped I would be able to walk to school in the afternoon but I was late getting off so had to take the car. I came out of school into sleet and driving rain, and got soaked just getting to the school car park! Horrible!
I’m going to the gym at some point this morning and then this afternoon is writers group at the library - our librarian leads a session once a month where she works very hard to motivate us while we sit chewing our pencils and staring into space! I’ve eaten a lot of pencils this year!
Have the best day you can, folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 19-Nov-25 07:55:37

Morning all from a wet and windy West Oxfordshire.

I had a telephone pre-med conversation yesterday for my forthcoming colonoscopy. This is happening next Wednesday afternoon.

It is the U3A monthly lunch today. We are meeting at a place which is new to us. Then this evening it is WI where we will have a craft evening. There will be mulled wine and mince pies.

Have a good day. I hope all went well for the FGT2S yesterday.

Georgesgran Wed 19-Nov-25 07:56:05

Good Morning from Durham where there’s been overnight snow. The DDs who live in the Newcastle suburbs have reported the same - we hate the stuff!
Meeting my friend for coffee at 10.30. I haven’t seen her for almost 3 weeks, as she’s been at her DD’s - cat sitting, while they were away. Looking forward to a good catch up.
Later, a walk with Little Dog before dark.
Hope things went to plan for the FGTs

Best wishes to all. X

Liberty Wed 19-Nov-25 07:58:55

Good morning from an old and dry Suffolk with no sign of the early frost we woke up to yesterday.

I’m meeting a friend for coffee after my keep fit class at a farm on my way home. They have diversified very successfully with seasonal activities,a maize in the autumn, pumpkin picking recently and a very successful cafe. This is popular with local dog walkers as there is a footpath along the marshes back to Southwold.

As for Christmas shopping,I don’t ask the family for their lists till December as 2 DGC have birthdays then. DGD4 who will be 14 on the 10th said a few years ago that she thinks her birthday might be overlooked because all people talk about is Christmas! I can still hear the worry in her voice.

Grammaretto Wed 19-Nov-25 08:09:43

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's bitterly cold with a light cover of snow. Scots' spirits are riding high after last night's football results. ⚽️
I was at a lovely traditional concert in Edinburgh so missed the match and my "Danish" brother will be disappointed 😂 but it's overdue.

I have my yarn group and winter vaccination today.

Happy birthday to your DGS & DD Grandmabatty.
Well done your FAB café gMattie

I hope all the poorly people are on the mend or at least comfortable.
Have a good day everyone.
