Thank you as always to our treasured benefactor soop.
Hot chocolate and warm muffins await, cushions plumped and fire stoked.

Thank you for the update on our dear Soop and her MrSoop

They must be looking forward to the visit from their DS and fiancé.

Sending you a hug Baggs

I would like to add my thanks to you Baggs about Soop, but I'm very sorry to hear about your house issues. I wish you and yours a peaceful Christmas. Brook I hope you are starting to feel better soon.
And stop. That's the regular childcare over until after Christmas. Today was hard going because they are both so excited for Christmas. Dgs2 nearly ran out of the gate at nursery onto the road. Fortunately a dad blocked his way until I could reach him. Even my best teacher voice didn't work,😱. Then dgs1 decided to slide down a grassy hill on his knees despite being told not to. So the trousers had to go in the wash once I got the pair of them home(boys, not just the trousers). My living room looks like an explosion in a crisp factory as they missed their mouths while watching cartoons. Then they had a hopping competition. Dgs2 is only learning the noble art of hopping. His big brother can hop for Scotland. I took them home and dgs2 redeemed himself by singing Rudolph the red nose reindeer, when Santa got stuck up the chimney and away in a manger. He was so sweet and won't sing elsewhere so I felt honoured.
Tonight I will finish off the gammon with boiled potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and cauliflower cheese, most of which was made on Sunday. Just the potatoes to peel and cook. Despite resting when I could today, my leg is sore. Definitely the weather doesn't help. We have had low lying dog in places and it feels very cold tonight. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

Hello kitchen people.

Thanks for the update Baggs. JJ, take care.

We bought The Tree today and it is all decorated and looks good. OH always puts the lights on and the fairy on top. I do the rest. Younger son always decorated the tree when he lived at home. He is back this weekend and I bet he moves things around!

Have a good evening everyone.

TillyTrotter Tue 16-Dec-25 20:01:24

Thank you Baggs it’s good to know soop is taking life easy and still enjoys chatting, and company.
Thoughts of all with struggles
and best wishes to Jaxjacky - R+R is the order of the day for once you are back home. Hospitals are not the quietest of places.

Thank you baggs. Very much appreciate your updates. How wonderful if soops treatment allows you to visit 🤞 for helpful weather when the time comes. Good to know Mr and Mrs Soop are coping and anticipating a family visit. What a shame the wheelchair is so heavy, I do understand having tried to manoeuvre my dad is what I thought was the heaviest wheelchair in the world. Putting it in a car was completely beyond me. I was 30 years younger then! Hope your house stuff is soon sorted. My love to you and the soops

Take care everyone. TOYA.

Redcar Tue 16-Dec-25 20:24:48

baggs thank you so much for the update on the soops and on your life too. I hope the soops are able to go out when their family arrive after Christmas. I hope too that your house repairs and decoration will soon be finished to your satisfaction. I pleased that your part-time job is helping you.

brook how disappointing that you’ve had to miss your DGD’s birthday tea. Fingers crossed that your DH doesn’t catch the bug. I did make it to the garden centre this morning and bought some plant arrangements for some friends. It was busy with people coming in for breakfasts as well as shopping. I do hope that you soon feel better.

jaxjacky I hope you are allowed home soon, but please take it easy. I know that’s easier said than done, but it’s so easy to do too much, especially at this time of year!

grandmabatty sorry your leg is sore again, hopefully you’ll be able to rest more now you’ve finished school! It’s going to be cold tonight with fog forecast, so keep warm.

Have a peaceful evening everyone.

kittylester Tue 16-Dec-25 20:38:11

Thank baggs for the soop update. Pease send them gentle hugs from me.

And to you too! This must be hard for you too, from all points of view.

Jax hope you get the xray ASAP.

dragonfly46 Tue 16-Dec-25 22:19:05

How lovely to have news of soop.
Hope you get home soon Jax.

GrandmaC47 Tue 16-Dec-25 22:38:57

Thank you, Baggs for the updates. Good to see our dear Soops are managing and looking forward to their visitors. Hope your house issues are sorted in a reasonable timeframe.
Jax 🫰you’re home soon.
Wishing everyone with health, family or other worries get relief soon.
Back to the quiet corner I go…..

Naughtyneine Wed 17-Dec-25 08:43:02

How lovely to hear news of Soop and Mr Soop. Thank you Baggs. I hope all your buggerations including the freezer issue b***er off soon.
Brook.. Fingers crossed that you start to feel better soon and that Mr B remains symptom free too.
I'm trying to start away from crowded places at the moment as I'm really hoping I'll get a date for my op very soon. I've been given morphine patches now but having read the side effects I'm holding off for now.

Redcar.... I'm glad you got to the garden centre and planted arrangements are the gift that keeps on giving aren't they?

Grandmabatty...and breathe...now you can relax and rest up a wee bit and here's hoping you leg improves too. Is it worse in the cold? If so would a thin support help... I've got brain fog and can't think what it's called ( I will of course as soon as I press 'Post'
Jax... Fingers crossed you are home now....it's all to easy to think that back in your own environment you can do everything...Breaking News....you can't .... You'll get there but for now just rest and listen to your body ( my head told me I could...my body said I warned you not to!!!!). Don't try and stop the pain relief too soon either...another mistake I made. Sending you a gentle cwtch and lots of get well vibes too.
LlFL... Have you put a picture of your tree on the Tree thread? Can we see it maybe?

I've got my x-ray this afternoon...the lead Radiologist is doing it...it's on my lower spine and pelvis.. presumably to see the positioning of the pins that are already in place before they operate. I'm going to phone the consultants secretary tomorrow and let them know that all the tests are completed.

Thank you for your lovely posts about Saturday...Mum and Babe are home now with partner/Daddy and the 11 month old little girl. They have overcome so much, being in care, homelessness, addiction ( not heroin Thank God), hearing loss and ongoing very disfunctional extended family life. They are striving to achieve normality for themselves and their children and I'm very proud of them. All I do is encourage them and that costs nothing but we all thrive on a bit of recognition don't we...♥️
Henrietta MoHo is going to be replaced with Maeve Moho. DH has driven Henrietta into work today and we pick up Maeve on Friday and on Saturday we pack her up ready for setting off on our first adventure (Christmas) in her on Sunday. Eek

Thank you baggs for the update on soop, it’s good to hear she’ll be seeing family soon and hopefully out and about a bit
Thinking of you too and sending you a gentle hug ❤️

Jaxjacky Wed 17-Dec-25 20:04:30

I am home and mightily relieve to be so, thank you all for your good wishes.
I can’t complain about the NHS at all, but homes best, my husband and son have done me proud.
Thank you Baggs I do hope your current problems are soon resolved.
I hope your x ray went well neine and paves the way to future action.
* brook* along with others suffering from lurgy, I do hope you soon improve and recover.

brook2704 Wed 17-Dec-25 20:14:00

Brilliant news Jax so pleased for you, now look after yourself and rest ❤️

Usedtobeblonde Wed 17-Dec-25 20:19:42

Good news Jax hope you make a good recovery.
We have been rocked today by the news of the death of a good friend and neighbour of 54 years.
She was a devout Catholic and her family and Church were her life.
She was widowed 26 years ago and I am sure she is with her H now.
Off to get ready for bed now after quite a busy day.
Have a good evening all.

Blossoming Wed 17-Dec-25 20:22:55

I’m so behind with all the news, the last few days have left me very little time to even catch my breath. So glad to see you’re home Jax. Thank you Baggs for the update, hope your own hassles are soon sorted.

Charleygirl5 Wed 17-Dec-25 20:37:20

Thanks Baggs, for the update. It is so difficult when something as simple as a wheelchair is too heavy.

Jax pleased to hear you are home. Hopefully you will sleep well in your own bed. Have you got stitches, or have you been glued together? Easier to cope with.

Please rest everybody, we will soon have Spring to look forward to as the evenings will be getting longer from the 21st.

brook2704 Wed 17-Dec-25 21:09:50

Sorry to hear that sad news uttb ❤️

Grandmabatty Wed 17-Dec-25 21:36:36

Jax I'm happy you are home. I hope you behave 😂. Utbb that's sad news for you.
I'm sorry to hear it.
I had lunch with friends and we blethered non stop for over two hours. It was lovely to see them. I'm having an early night now. Take care all.

Redcar Wed 17-Dec-25 21:49:19

jaxjacky so pleased you are home again, your Christmas tree looks great.

utbb I’m sorry to hear your sad news.

neine I hope the X-rays went smoothly this afternoon and that you soon get a date for surgery. I’m pleased that the Mum and new baby are home, and hope that they continue to overcome the many difficulties that they are facing.

A stressful day for me, I’d had to change my email password yesterday, which of course meant I had to enter it numerous times to try to get into my emails. A half hour chat with BT sorted it all out, but I was very anxious! I probably shouldn’t be let loose on anything with a password!

I’m going to bed soon, so night night everyone, sleep well.
