Thank you as always to our treasured benefactor soop.
Hot chocolate and warm muffins await, cushions plumped and fire stoked.

Thanks for letting us know, FGT, great to hear that Himself is in good spirits.
Like Jaxjacky, I'm missing Blossoming and hoping all is well. So many of our dear Kitchen friends have such a lot to cope with these days.

I've had a lazy day since I came home after Mass and counting the collections this morning. Dozed most of the afternoon, soup and sandwich for dinner, TV 📺 quizzes this evening. I must give myself a shake, I'm still lacking energy and motivation post Covid. I've got another prescription for Codeine linctus for the lingering cough.

Wishing everyone a good night's sleep, TOYA, NNGB.

Glad to hear today’s been a better day FGT and thinking of SueD and our other posters going through a difficult time. 💐

Beechnut

I’m always pleased to see an appearance of Dixon as I scroll down as it usually means your/himself have had a better day FGT. xx

You are particularly astute dear Beechnut (fellow Virgoan).
😊

That is such a heartwarming post, FGT! I love the reports of Mr FGT and his brothers. ❤️

flowers for all those currently missing from the Kitchen.

Grandmadinosaur

So pleased to hear Himself is feeling better today FGT but sadly he won’t be happy with the football result !
I just asked DH what the score was. My dear friend lost her husband on Friday and when I asked DH what the score was he said that one was for Ian. He was an Evertonian. 💐

Himself rang me after the match.
He’s very even handed about ⚽️ to be honest. Just enjoys a good game. (Although that’s not easy these days with Man. Utd!).
He said of the match ‘the better team definitely won tonight’.

Yes, one for your friend Ian, condolences to all who loved him.

GrandmaC47 Mon 24-Nov-25 23:35:51

Lovely news, fgt, so happy for you both.
I’m missing Blossoming posting, hope all is well.
💐 for those of you enduring tough times. The support from all here in dear Soops kitchen is heartwarming.

grandMattie Tue 25-Nov-25 06:35:21

Terrific news fgt. 🫂

Grannydaisy1 Tue 25-Nov-25 06:58:25

fgt2 Brilliant news last night. So lovely to read how much better you are. I too feel much better when I see Dixon. Also a virgoan

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 25-Nov-25 07:18:02

We are simpatico. 😊
Apparently with other Earth signs too - so we get on especially well with Taureans (Himself) and Capricornians (erm, is that actually a word?!).
🤷‍♀️

Redcar Tue 25-Nov-25 07:29:01

fgt I’d gone to bed early last night, so have only just read your good news. I’m so pleased that Himself was feeling better yesterday and hope that he’ll soon be home with you.
I’m concerned for blossoming too, she was doing so well with her walking.
SueD I’m sure that your Ds1 will enjoy his brother’s visit.
Have as good a day as possible everyone.

kittylester Tue 25-Nov-25 07:39:20

I'm happy to be called a Capricornian. 🐐🐐

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 25-Nov-25 08:06:48

You can be in our team then kitty!
Actually this nonsense deserves a thread of its own! 4 supposed ‘groups of 3 ’ Earth, Wind, Fire (no dear, not that band) & Water where those in ‘your’ group of 3 get on particularly well (or so horoscopes say).

I used to read mine every day (Jonathan Cainer in the Saturday edition of the Daily Mail - a whole page for the week ahead) plus the ones for Himself and our 2 girls. One daughter isn’t in our ‘Earth group’. She always said she was nothing like the three of us and posited she was a foundling left on our doorstep as a baby …

Right I’ll stop wittering on now. 😁

Charleygirl5 Tue 25-Nov-25 08:48:06

FGT We Virgoans can't help being perfect.

I hope you have another good day. It is perishing here in Greater London. After the budget, I will be retiring to bed for 3 months.

cornergran Tue 25-Nov-25 09:01:42

A Taurean here, as was my Dad, my Mum was a Virgoan. A very Earth based family group smile.

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Nov-25 09:18:55

I thought I'd posted saying how pleased I was at Fgt news, but I obviously dreamed it! I am very happy to hear about himself. I'm a Virgo by the way

Naughtyneine Tue 25-Nov-25 10:26:31

FGT My heart was in my mouth when I started to catch up on all the news....and now I'm so relieved and happy at the latest update about your DH. It's brilliant that he is getting treatment quickly so he can get back on track once more. A big hug to you...this isn't easy.
SueD....a big hug for you too. That's a lot of balls to try and keep juggling. I hope the chemo continues to keep things at bay and as you say seeing one another will boost both of their spirits.
It will come as absolutely no surprise to know that I am Sagittarius 🤣

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 25-Nov-25 13:47:35

That made me laugh Charleygirl!

Same in our family all Earth signs except for our Yorkshire Lass who is an Air sign. Aquarius. She’s like the proverbial hurricane. I do love her though she has a heart of gold. She just sees things so differently to us earth (plodders). She says she’s like Marmite … 😂

Right, time to go up to see my darling man. x

Doodle Tue 25-Nov-25 14:40:05

FGT just read your post saying your dear man was back in hospital. I do hope he’s looking and feeling brighter today.
You must be exhausted with all the emotion and worry let alone going backwards and forwards to the hospital. It’s good you have such support from your BIL. Hugs and prayers. 💕
Soop sending love to you and Mr Soop too.

Grannmarie Tue 25-Nov-25 16:00:11

Hello 👋 Doodle, lovely to see you in the kitchen! Hope you're doing OK. 🥰

Thinking of our Soops and all with illness, worries or sorrow. Hoping FGT finds Himself in good fettle today. Wrap up warmly on your travels, dear lady, you must look after yourself too. It's very cold and frosty here today.

Well I'm all out of sync today because I slept so much yesterday afternoon. I ended up turning night into day, watched all four episodes of Prisoner 951, such a shocking story of Nazarin Nagharri Radcliffe, all the more heartbreaking because it is true... then I slept late this morning, not like me. So I'm drinking coffee, not my usual Red Bush tea, to avoid sofa siestas today. I need to be up and out early tomorrow, to take my friend to Mass and Coffee Morning, hopefully without calling on the Fire Brigade this week!
Oh, I'm a Scorpio !

TillyTrotter Tue 25-Nov-25 17:19:36

It’s wonderful how we are all rooting for your dear hubby fgt
even though most of us don’t know him in RL but there is a real band of wellwishers here who are ecstatic to hear your latest news of him looking better and sitting up in bed watching football. 🍀

Grandmabatty Tue 25-Nov-25 17:30:36

Good evening Kitcheners. Grannmarie I hope you are able to sleep tonight. I well know turning day into night! Suedonim I missed your post but I hope your son continues to get treatment and is doing well.
Today has been a challenge. Dgs2 has been difficult before nursery and after. He and his big brother have been fighting like cat and dog. Lots of tears and shouting at each other. I'm worn out! However I've dropped them off home and I'm having a seat before I tidy up. Then chicken curry for dinner and collapse on the couch. I was supposed to get a delivery from Next but it hasn't arrived yet so I don't expect it til tomorrow.
I wish every body well

Usedtobeblonde Tue 25-Nov-25 17:38:15

The perils of brothers Grandabatty although I am sure they love each other dearly most of the time.
I kept busy this morning, I made a casserole in the slow cooker for stew and dumplings tomorrow, emptied the dishwasher, sorted some laundry for my S and then my back started to really ache.
It has got so bad this last couple of hours that I have come to bed to try to lie flat, I have taken Panadol.
My friend visits tomorrow and I hope I feel better as I can’t cope with her if I am not on good form.
I am thinking of all dealing with difficult and upsetting situations, my kindest thoughts are with you.

Nannytopsy Tue 25-Nov-25 17:59:40

Evening all! I hope himself continues to improve FGT and that you are keeping warm and dry. I managed a couple of hours in the garden earlier and then had coffee and stollen with a friend who came to collect stuff for our village wreath making activity on Saturday. I even made a start on the Christmas cards before I had an unplanned nap.
Tomorrow we are off to Kent to do the end of day pick up and bedtime. Looking forward to cuddles 🥰.
Thinking of you all in the quiet corner.

Grannmarie Tue 25-Nov-25 18:00:54

Thank you, Grandmabatty, me too!🤞 I hope you're relaxing now after your tricky day, I remember DS1 and DGD ( brother and sister) bickering a lot when they were wee, they do seem to grow out of it.

UsedToBeBlonde, sorry to hear you're in pain, you've been busy today too. I hope you can enjoy your friend's visit tomorrow.

This afternoon I packed away my autumn wreath and decorations, clearing all surfaces for a good clean before DS3 and lovely girlfriend bring my Christmas stuff down from the loft at the weekend.

Salmon and veg for dinner tonight.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Tuesday evening. TOYA.

Jaxjacky Tue 25-Nov-25 18:04:05

Hi all, a bitter wind today, my friend and I made our now weekly trip to weigh in, 1lb off each, I should think so to, I dusted enthusiastically before we went.
After my usual lunchtime ‘breakfast’ off to the village, butcher to order some festive meat, then I found MrJ an appropriately seasonal jumper in the charity shop.
Oh dear *Grandmabatty, how wearing for you, tired perhaps or are the looming festivities apparent?
