Good morning from a frosty Bristol. The maximum temperature for today will be around 11C at about 3am! What a muddle.
Yesterday was quiet. I had intended to get fabric in town but decided to stay home. I made brownies, flapjacks and lemon biscuits for the FAB cafe and I’m serving on Saturday as well - 2 birds, 1 stone…

Good morning from a frosty Torbay which is rare here!

I’ve been awake a while and enjoying TIB accompanied by the merry sound of the street cleaner ploughing its way up and down, clearing leaves which is much needed as there are three parks close by with many mature trees.

Wednesday Club this afternoon then a play rehearsal tonight. I think my car could find its own way to the theatre, I’m there so regularly!

It is good that your doctor is following up on your blood test, Mick. Hope all will be well.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Posted too soon.
In the afternoon, I had my neighbour and we chatted away while our feet were being done. So comfy afterwards.
I’m trying to catch up on rest after my frantic week last week so am taking things easy if I can.
Hope things are ok for you all.
Carpe diem. 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦤

Morning Mick, morning All from a frosty corner of Somerset.

Awake since around 4 with whirly thoughts about family stuff. After a muddly morning yesterday got to removing dust in the afternoon, felt all the better for it. Several distressed and distressing messages arrived from our goddaughter about the care, or lack of, for her mum. It’s heartbreaking to think how the proud, independent and feisty woman is being treated. All I can do is listen. I’m a bit of an over full sponge at the moment.

Today’s excitement will be a trip to the tip where I hope a staff member will help heave a heavy item from the boot. Mr C insisted he could put it in there then acknowledged it had been too heavy. Daft man. Onwards then to town for a couple of watch batteries before a hot chocolate using my weekly £1 drink courtesy of my mobile provider. The afternoon will be spent on the phone chasing this and that before some easy pasta for our meal.

Have the best day you can everyone.

I’m sorry about your family issues, corner. It’s hard not to be able to put things right, isn’t it? One knows that being the recipient of stuff helps the other person, but one’s instinct is to try to fix whatever. 💐

RosesandLilac Wed 26-Nov-25 05:52:15

Good morning, it’s very frosty here in south Glos, my blue car is totally white so a chilly dog walk this morning.
A day without electricity was okay yesterday, I’d prepared for it so it was slightly irritating by the time it was restored at 6. The final two hours were definitely two too many!
I did finish tidying the airing cupboard before I sat down and finished my small throw, sewing in all the ends.
Jacket potatoes cooked in the ashes of the wood burner were delicious and took me back to being a child and having them baked in the ashes tray of the Parkray.
The engineers doing the cable replacements were very impressive, keeping us informed of progress with text messaging, visiting us in person before starting and twice more with updates and the switch on at the end. So, in all an interesting experience, much better than the regular power cuts we would get in stormy or very wet weather.
I don’t have anything planned for today beyond the usual stuff, I ought to start tidying my kitchen cupboards so perhaps I will start that, I’m sure there’s out of date tins lurking at the back and my spices definitely need sorting, I rarely use them nowadays so probably a fair few need evicting 🙄
Best wishes to you all 🌹

I agree grandMattie but it becomes overwhelming at times doesn’t it? Hugs coming your way Corner x

Good morning from cold s somerset, rain later

You are remarkable Susan flowers

The photo shows my array of sock gifts and today I will wrap each pair in tissue with a named sticker. That wool was so nice to use, regia 6 ply

Yesterday was so very satisfying and uplifting for the whole day, I finally sat down, having finished everything, at 7pm. Weird but something is giving me sustained energy. I`ll just say that my utility room is tidy and spotless, more de-cluttering has been done, floors washed, big butchers block oiled and so it went on, three washes out, in and put away

I have to mention the goulash casserole yesterday, 7 portions with rice and it was so very nice and incredibly easy. I found a Gary Rhodes slow cooker blend in my cupboard, I don`t have a slow cooker so I used le Creuset in my oven for 3 hours. I added cubed parsnip

The other photo shows my dh with two of my parsnips in 2013 from my last allotment

I`ll take today as it comes but will definitely do the undersink kitchen cupboard, it should be a lot tidier as I have more space in my utility room undersink and I will put bits and bobs in there

I have really been wanting to make myself a rag doll and last night finally found a pattern that I loved and have ordered various bits online. I think this may well be a winter project for me

Have a good day

grandMattie Wed 26-Nov-25 06:25:02

What an amazing array of socks, karma! Ditto parsnips.

Grandmabatty Wed 26-Nov-25 06:37:24

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and dry, although rain is forecast. Karma lovely array of socks.
Yesterday dgs2 was not in the best of humours. His mummy has run out of his favourite smoothie with which he starts the day. Life was a disaster for him. 😂 It pretty much was awful for the rest of us. I dropped them off at school and then came home and sorted out the kitchen. A quiet day until I picked them up. Both boys were very argumentative with each other and it was very wearing. We made chocolate crispy cakes which entertained dgs1 more than dgs2. I dropped them at home quite happily. Dd messaged later to say dgs1 has lost his first tooth. Fortunately his other gran has put it in an envelope for the tooth fairy at his own house for tonight.
I have a very early haircut appointment today. My hairdresser starts work at seven and my appointment is at eight. Then I'll head to the school library for an hour. After that, I shall pick up my prescription then head home to potter. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a cold dark S E Essex.

Off to the gym first thing, don’t feel like it as I have woke with yet another headache. I am putting it down to paint smells 🤷‍♀️ hopefully all painting is now finished 👍

corner you are a very kind a caring godmother 🌸

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-Nov-25 06:47:37

Oops beautiful socks karmalady you are very talented.

karmalady Wed 26-Nov-25 07:03:40

Cornergran overfull sponge sums it all up. Thinking of you

I had that feeling when a niece offloaded to me, she said that I was her role model, her mum died and she has no other older woman. Such a weight on me at the time when it can be hard enough, just getting through life as a widow living alone. I listened too and that helped her. I learnt long ago, to put a bubble around myself

BlueSapphire Wed 26-Nov-25 07:17:46

Good morning everyone from a cold and frosty Northampton, -3°C out at the moment. Up a bit earlier as I plan on getting an early bus into town.

Two loads of washing done yesterday and then joined my walking group in the afternoon; a lovely walk in winter sunshine, although a chilly wind, but walking kept us warm.

Got an appointment at the dentist next week to see what can be done about my broken tooth; I do not hold out much hope for it... just hope it doesn't all crumble away before then.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Redcar Wed 26-Nov-25 07:20:08

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dark and cold (-1) but seems dry so far. Rain forecast for later. A frustrating day yesterday, a load of paperwork relating to my late godmother’s estate to be sorted, then a parcel was delivered to the wrong house in the village. Needless to say it hasn’t been brought to me, so a long phone call to John Lewis in the evening and hopefully they will ring back this morning to arrange a replacement. Sadly it’s a common problem here these days.
I’ll go to the post office this morning when the frost has cleared to get more stamps and post letters to the solicitors.
cornergran sorry to hear about the care your goddaughter’s mother is receiving.
karma those socks look lovely, you are so talented. susana busy start to the day for you!
I’ll wrap a few more presents today and try to tidy the dining room, which is rapidly becoming a dumping ground for all sorts of stuff.
Thinking of those who are poorly and those who love them.
Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Grannydaisy1 Wed 26-Nov-25 07:22:37

karma beautiful socks you are really clever. Lucky recipients

Georgesgran Wed 26-Nov-25 07:26:22

Good Morning from Durham, where it’s bumping along freezing and barely light.
I have Openreach coming today to lay cables through my garden - other neighbours have refused, so I’m now wondering if I’m doing the right thing?
The sciatica continues, getting worse throughout the day and I’m conscious of limping or rather listing to one side. It’s been going on for months and affected 2 holidays earlier this year.
I’m meeting my poorly friend today. We usually start with coffee and end up having lunch, while we put the World to rights. Budget day too - that’s worrying.

Best wishes to all. X

ginny Wed 26-Nov-25 07:26:31

Good morning from a frosty N. Bucks. Had a productive day yesterday, puds and brandy butter made. 10 fabric gift bags sewn and filled and an uplifting choir rehearsal.
This morning I have a list of Christmas gifts to order and this afternoon is craft club where we will be decorating bottles and inserting led lights.
This evening I hope too finish off the some folded paper decorations.
Wishing a good day for all especially those with worries and troubles to cope with.

Kalu Wed 26-Nov-25 07:28:11

Good morning all. A wet and windy day is forecast for Glasgow with a sudden rise in temperature to 11deg. Very odd weather.

A crisp, sunny day yesterday meant I could spend some time in the garden. Not that I did anything productive, just enjoyed a ‘good look around’. I have kept 2 small Le Creuset casserole pots, the others which served me well since the 70’s were too heavy to lift and donated to charity. I’m looking forward to a coffee catch up with TopsyIrene in Waitrose this morning.

More hugs coming your way Corner Remember the rule of reaching for the oxygen mask first and look after yourself too. 💐

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for all with some respite from whatever your troubles may be.

brook2704 Wed 26-Nov-25 07:31:14

Good morning everyone from a very chilly Inverness, looks white and frosty outside but due to warm up later
Sorry to hear about the ongoing family problems corner I’m sure that being such a good listener really helps your goddaughter
Today I’ve a couple of classes at the gym with time for a coffee and chat in between. Afterwards I’ll walk by the river into town and get the bus home. It’s looking very pretty at the moment with lots of the riverside hotels decorated with Christmas lights
Beautiful socks Karma
Enjoy your catch up with Topsy, Kalu
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

dragonfly46 Wed 26-Nov-25 07:35:59

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.
I had hoped to be posting better news by now but DH is still in hospital, not eating or moving enough and now has an infection.
The upside is that after Monday parking there is free as he has been in so long.
Both AC take it in turns to come up.
Wishing everyone a good day.

luluaugust Wed 26-Nov-25 07:40:00

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Yesterday’s hospital dash ended with DH having emergency laser eye treatment. My goodness we were tired by the time we got home but the NHS was at its best. Today I have cancelled everything and will be concentrating on Christmas packing.
Beautiful socks Karma
Cornergran you are a great godmother. I find it very difficult to deal with others problems now and have had to let things go with the ex of a relation who I just couldn’t help
Take care everyone

kittylester Wed 26-Nov-25 07:46:30

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire. Alexa tells me me it is -4°.

Our cleaner is due at 9 am. DH should be at the gym but is brewing a cold. Hope he doesn't give it me as is would be S*d's Law that my op appointment will appear as well.

Have the best day possible everyone.
