Good morning, just!!
A busy day today, thank goodness it will soon be lunchtime.
I'm going to have lentil soup, with some garlic, tofu & some nice wholemeal bread. I'm also going to read the newspaper; if I can actually find any news inbetween all the images of minor slebs with the obligatory, silly middle-parting & massive lips & eyebrows!
I will not be following this trend and neither is The Dog.
Have a lovely day everyone.👍

I agree with GrannySomerset madeleine.Your bravery and determination to do what you do in spite of such debilitating pain is an inspiration💪🏼

Glad you're feeling better NannyJan I didn't attend the meet up forgot to mention to DH and he arranged other plans for us both, perhaps get together again in the New year.
Ash condolences to your daughter and family 💐.

Ashcombe Fri 28-Nov-25 10:14:23

Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments on the loss of my DD1’s FiL. Sadly, they’ve had to forego a special holiday in Japan and Vietnam which had been booked for December.

Susan56 Fri 28-Nov-25 09:58:23

Thank you Grandmabatty.x

Ash, my condolences to your daughter and family💐

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Nov-25 09:54:00

Susan it's definitely a rollercoaster. My sympathy

Good morning from Shropshire.Sun shining at the moment.

Yesterdays visit to mum was not good.Very disappointing after the fun call the day before. We were exhausted after visiting.

Today is a quiet day until we collect the children from school later and bring them back here for their usual Friday sleepover. They are very excited as they haven’t been for a couple of weeks😳😬😂

Gingster I remember when my parents sold their holiday cottage in Anglesey. It was very emotional but definitely the right decision.Very hard for you though.

Glad we have heard from Blossoming😅hope Marydoll is ok🙏🏻

Thoughts to all dealing with ill health and the ill health of loved ones💐

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from a bright blue skied Black Country.

I have had a bad cold Monk (thanks for noticing I was missing). Prevented me from attending the Birmingham GN meetup on Tuesday which was annoying. Starting to feel a bit more human today.

No real plans today. MrJ has an appointment at Surgery to have stitches taken out from his head after a suspect lump was taken off. Still waiting for results of biopsy.

Hoping Marydoll is ok.

Thoughts to FGT's and Dragonfly

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning all. High winds have been blowing all night and rain is forecast for later in the day. One plus, it’s milder and no frost.

Usual hairdresser visit late afternoon yesterday then a lovely surprise when a friend who lives locally suggested an early dinner at a local hotel. Such last minute plans are possible as we are both on our own now. We pushed the boat out and had a cocktail apéritif, a delicious meal spent in good company. We first became friends many moons ago when we met as student nurses to begin our training at GRI and lived in the nurses home. No reason to go out today I will stay put and busy myself indoors.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Hairdresser yesterday, as it’s nearly twenty miles away, I have a good sing in the car. As I’m getting over a cold, it’s left me rather hoarse. Concert tomorrow so will rest it now.

Sister arrives from London tonight and I hope I feel better, I have trapped wind😨and I’m belching, in pain and windy..
Off to art soon. I have taken peppermint tea and paracetamol so I wish it would bugger off, had it since last night.
I have a stuffed turkey roll for tonight and looking forward to seeing my sister.
Commiserations Gingster, I had a caravan in Delamere Forest and loved it so, still miss it, but not something else to worry about.
Condolences Ashcombe🌺

Hope Md is ok. Good to see Blossoming posting in SoopsKitchen last night.

GrannySomerset Fri 28-Nov-25 09:16:08

Yet again I am being logged out. Annoying though it perhaps prevents me from joining in when I shouldn’t.

Lovely morning and a feeling much brighter now that I have got a prescription which is helping my painful arthritic right wrist. Typing still hurts but I got showered and dressed in under half an hour, a big improvement though I still can’t drive. Good thing I made my first Tesco delivery order to arrive on Sunday so starvation is unlikely.

Madeleine’s bravery puts me to shame as in comparison I have nothing to complain about. Thinking of all our GNers having a sad or difficult time and wondering where Marydoll is and hoping for positive news.

So sorry to hear you are selling your beloved cottage gingster I hope the sale goes smoothly.

Grammaretto Fri 28-Nov-25 08:47:06

Good morning all from my last day in Nottingham.
I disgraced myself by writing in bed and a biro exploded mostly over me but alas on a pillowcase...

This never happens at home.
I had an enjoyable day yesterday despite it being the anniversary of DH's death. Good walks and bus rides to the arboretum and George Green's windmill.

Sad news Ash 😢

I hope there's better news from the poorly ones.

Have a good time with your Cambridge family Brook

Have a good day everyone.

Morning, it’s damp out but not raining, belated Happy Birthday to your husband glammagran 🎂.
That film will be on Netflix BlueSapphire I think from 12th December.
Yesterday I was supposed to be fetching our Christmas tree with my daughter, but she forgot, busy life, we’ll have another try today after school.
Stretch class this morning, Tesco delivery this afternoon, MrJ has a hospital drive.
A wrench Gingster but better to choose than be forced.

karma I love the pattern for the rag doll. Hope you enjoy making it and post a photo when it's finished

Good morning all from a dry Black country.
Went for a wander around the garden centre yesterday before going for our meal, they have real reindeer there it was lovely to see them surrounded by the Christmas trees and seasonal displays.
I have another bag for the charity shop and I need to take DH prescription in.
Meeting friends at the club this evening.
Haven't seen NannyJan posting hope she's ok.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️

BlueSapphire Fri 28-Nov-25 08:29:30

Good morning everyone from a clear dry Northampton, sunny spells ahead but showers by the afternoon.

I very much enjoyed the Daniel Craig film (Wake up Dead Man) yesterday, one of the best I've seen in a long time; came out of the cinema thinking how good was that!

Did a bit of shopping in town after the cinema yesterday, Christmas cards and then gift wrap and gift bag for DD-out-law 's birthday on Sunday.

Giving dance classes a miss today as I need to pick up an order of new shoes this morning; I am hoping to be able to try them on straight away in the shop, so that if they don't fit I can return them instantly. Then on the.way home a visit to Sainsbury's and M&S Food to get a few things for the weekend. Heavy rain forecast for tomorrow so I don't want to be going out in that.

Congratulations to Glammagran's DH on his recent birthday - hope.you enjoyed your Indian.

And wishing all a pleasant day.

gingster not an easy one. We had the use of a property in Lincolnshire each Summer for decades, I suppose all good things come to an end but lots of happy memories

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Nov-25 08:08:54

Brook safe journey to Cambridge

Grandmabatty Fri 28-Nov-25 08:08:14

gingster that must be a wrench. 💐

harrigran Fri 28-Nov-25 08:07:29

Good morning from a wet and windy NE, was regretting putting the bin out last night.
Yesterday afternoon I could hear a continuous beeping in the kitchen I thought it was the freezer alarm, turns out it was the dishwasher. Bit of a panic as it was not showing an error code.
Sister and BIL arrived and said they had difficulty getting into the street because the water company were digging holes. We tried the taps and the water was off, no notification of work being done.
Quiet day today with no visitors.
Have a good day.

Grannydaisy1 Fri 28-Nov-25 08:06:38

gingster sorry to hear about your cottage but you have lovely memories

baubles Fri 28-Nov-25 07:48:03

Good morning from very wet South Lanarkshire. There were several loud thunderclaps earlier.

The children were on good form again yesterday which was lovely. The eldest has taken an interest in sewing and has designed a dress which she wants to make so her Mum has promised a visit to a fabric shop at the weekend. I spent a while threading up the sewing machine which DDoutLaw’s mother left with them on her last visit. It’s an age since I’ve had my own sewing machine out so I was a bit rusty.

Out to friends this evening for a catch up.

Wishing everyone a good day.
