Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

MrB and I have been over to Lytham today for a seaside walk. The weather is perfect for it, a light breeze, neither too hot nor too cold although the Big Coats were worn. Back home now, bacon rolls for lunch then a rest before our afternoon around the dock.

Still waiting to hear from my doctor regarding my recent blood results. I know what they are as I can access them online, but I need to know what happens going forward.

I shall read the full thread over lunch. In the meantime I’m thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles, as always.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🦩🦩🦩

Good news marydoll I hope you are able to actually get all the meds and that you’ll soon feel better.

EkwaNimitee Mon 08-Dec-25 11:04:40

I’m really glad you didn’t have to fight your surgery Marydoll

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, Christmas meal today with the Chair Yoga group so that’s nice. A bit unfortunately our SSVP group have finally managed to organise a leaving get together for a longstanding member earlier in the day so I’ll go to that first but will just have a snack! Talk about a feast or a famine!

With everything that’s going on I’m finding it really difficult to get organised this year, I finally bought cards at the weekend and (daughters’ orders)tried to order online a delivery of cheeses from a specialist shop to each of them for Christmas which they assured me would save me thinking anymore about it. First instruction was to forget the whole thing this year but I didn’t want to do that.
Well it was either me (probably) , the site or my iPad but I couldn’t even get that right so I’m about to phone them and plead for help!

Your plan for today sounds so delightful baubles!

My DGS1 received an unconditional acceptance for Edinburgh University on Saturday so that was a lovely boost.

Wishing everyone a good day with, of course, special thoughts for the FGTs this week

Good morning,

It’s dry here for the moment after several days of heavy rain. I’m not sure how long this reprieve will last.

Good news MD, you seem to now have a doctor who applies common sense. I hope you soon see an improvement.

Well, off to coffee morning group now then to the cemetery with the wreathes.

Hope you all have a decent day.

luluaugust Mon 08-Dec-25 09:40:59

Good news MD

Feelingmyage55 Mon 08-Dec-25 09:38:14

Good morning from the north of Scotland where it could not be wetter. Already been to the supermarket as I find the car park nerve wracking later than about 9.30.
The tree is up but not yet decorated as I plan to do that after lunch while watching a schmaltzy film. DH is out tonight so I may write the cards - or maybe not.
We went to a lovely carol service yesterday and it lifted my spirits and I actually slept through the night.
MD result. Hope you all have the best day you can.

GrannySomerset Mon 08-Dec-25 09:37:12

Glad to read good news from Mdoll and not before time. Fingers crossed that things will be easier from now on. Everyone sounds more Christmas ready than me though I have written the cards, sadly far fewer in number than in the past, and am off shortly to the post office with them and some parcels for my injured neighbour which I packed yesterday. This is definitely not the time of year to be one handed!

Georgesgran Mon 08-Dec-25 09:32:55

Good morning from Durham where it is grey, a bit breezy but dry.
I spent yesterday catching up on lots of domestic duties. There was a bit of a mess up with the wood burner, and I returned to a room filled with smoke. As a result, I changed to my winter curtains and cushions, something I had decided to miss this year. The windows are wide open.
Flicked the family room tv on first thing and just a logo. The wonderful television Engineer arrived at 9:05 and declared it unrepairable! He has recommended his choice for a new one, and I shall get onto that this afternoon.
I also had a call from my poorly. friend who attended a local hospital to be shown how to inject some new meds for her RA. Unfortunately, when she drew their attention to having had childhood TB and later breast cancer, the biologics were deemed unsuitable and she was told to consult to speak to her consultant. It’s beyond belief that this wasn’t noted first. At least Marydoll seems to be having better luck today with her meds - long may it continue.

Rushing off for my usual Monday meet up with a friend. We will sort out World problems over a latte.

Best wishes to all. X

This is a photo of the concert I went to in London yesterday. My daughter is a member of the London City Voices choir as an alto. I went with elder son. Very impressive. The music ranged from Led Zeppelin to Christmas favourites.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 08-Dec-25 09:21:50

That’s excellent news MaryD! Onwards and upwards.

Beechnut Mon 08-Dec-25 09:17:40

Good morning everyone.

A very miserable weekend weather wise. Luckily the rain took a break from falling while we visited a Christmas fair. My daughter and I bought a few things each. She was looking for a small tree but wasn’t prepared to pay what they were asking for them. I started to feel very stiff so asked her to drive home.

Wishing you all the best for this weeks Christie visits fgt xx

grandMattie Mon 08-Dec-25 09:16:50

Just saw your latest post. Hang on to the lovely ladyGP, md, if possible. Having her looking out for you is fantabulous!

grandMattie Mon 08-Dec-25 09:15:06

I know, I know…. Pots and kettle, md.
Thing is that I’m in rude good health normally, just reaching for 80, while you… 😆🫂

harrigran Mon 08-Dec-25 09:11:37

Good morning from a dry NE after a ery windy night, early plugs had to be used.
Yesterday I decorated the tree, this year's colour scheme is green and gold and plain white lights.
Dinner was a simple meal of leftover pasta from Saturday because I had made too much as usual. Then I decided to stay seasonal and watched Last Christmas which I found on one of the recorders.
DD is off to sign the contract for new job which she will start in February, she messaged me to say she couldn't talk on the phone because she had a horrible cold and was losing her voice.
Nothing happening today except the window cleaner expected..
Good luck for tonight Ashcombe

Marydoll Mon 08-Dec-25 08:49:25

Well my flabber is gasted!

One of the lovely lady GPs, who knows me phoned.

Reinstated everything, heard my cough and issued even stronger antibiotics, dealt with my Diverticulitis flare up,
organised bloods for Friday and added my new meds to repeats.

I cannot believed it has been resolved!!

Now off to deal with the hazardous loo!

Have a good day folks.

monk08 Mon 08-Dec-25 08:34:01

Good morning everyone from a dampish Northampton, may be some showers later. Didn't venture out at all yesterday except to my garage to get the tree and decorations in.

I put the tree up in the afternoon (helped by two curious cats!), plugged it in and checked the lights, and will decorate it this afternoon; then gradually during the week I shall 'dress' the sitting room, dining room, hall and porch.

Yoga first this morning with Christmas jumpers, then a festive coffee afterwards.

Not read any of the thread as I am running late this morning, and will look forward to catching up later on.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Gingster Mon 08-Dec-25 08:28:24

Good morning and it’s dreary here in Essex.

Yesterday was busy with shopping, present wrapping and lots of odd jobs.

Today I have the last Chimes group of the year, followed by drinks and nibbles. It will be fun - it always is. 🥳.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day and hoping those who aren’t 100%,
are feeling better. 💐

brook2704 Mon 08-Dec-25 08:13:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark and looks wet
Hope everything goes well tonight Ash everyone seems to work so hard
Nothing much planned for today except DH is will be arriving home later so I’ll go into town this afternoon, do a bit of shopping and them pick him up from the station.
Enjoy your festive day out today with your DH baubles it sounds lovely
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Liberty Mon 08-Dec-25 08:09:12

Good morning from a dry and mild Suffolk after heavy rain yesterday. I started writing Christmas cards yesterday. One of my sister’s in law said she has made a donation to Marie Curie this year in lieu of sending cards but they are 11 years younger than us.

I said we would continue to send them to friends who live away and with whom a card is the main yearly communication or they may assume,no card,we’ve died.

I’m off to visit my dear friend in hospital this morning. She is generally in good spirits but admitted when I saw her on Friday that she is scared about going back home and being alone in case she has another fall.

I’m in regular contact with her daughter who lives over 200 miles away but I think she is finding it very difficult to come to terms with the fact that her mum will probably not return to the person who everyone else turned to for help and support.

Hoping that today is a good one for all, especially for those facing challenging times.

EkwaNimitee Mon 08-Dec-25 08:02:16

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where the sky appears largely clear...so far.
Yesterday I got an early walk in the park as the sun was coming over the trees, lots of noisy birds looking for breakfast and dogs being walked. Some rather mucky ones, there's been lots of rain! The rest of the day was fairly quiet, I wrote my few christmas cards and read this and that.

Today will be busy with the usual jobs of bed changing, laundry and vacuuming, then that's the bulk of housework done for the week.
I look forward to a visit from DS1 later and will hope it doesn't rain, yesterday afternoon was torrential.

Wishing Marydoll every success with her surgery.

I hope you feel better about things soon Bella. It will pass.

Do have a good day everyone.
