Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire.Dark and raining at the moment.

I am awake far too early thinking about the busy week ahead.I have already done my daily Welsh lessons. We are off to Staffordshire later to collect DGS1 from school and then take him to his golf lesson.Sometimes he likes us to watch him and sometimes we are allowed to go for a coffee in the clubhouse, his choice!

I hope Marydoll gets her prescription sorted this morning🙏🏻and that all waiting for results get good news🙏🏻

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻🎅🏼🎄

Good morning from a damp Bristol.
Yesterday was odd. I stared to feel distinctly sweaty and dizzy during the church service, so took myself out to the cold. It was raining so it was only on the steps. After about 5 minutes I felt a bit better and finished the service. I left very quickly, with a thumping headache, and spent the rest of the day quietly. The type of headache suggested labyrinthitis. Fortunately, one of the pills and paracetamol helped.
The baptism was lovely, the children remarkably quiet and well behaved. One little girl had had a24carat tantrum in the car park, but behaved impeccably in church. I wonder what had set it off.
Today, I’ve got Tesco, and need to b3 at the WI venue to set up for the meeting very soon after getting home. During this, I’m supposed to have a workman coming to fix my inactive bedroom alarm. The visiting manage4 has a master key, so I hope she’ll let them in. I’ve got nothing of value and, besides, if anything goes awol, it would reflect very badly on the company…
All the best to the fgts. MD, there is an headline article in the Guardian this morning about a black hole where any referrals to hospitals etc., disappear. Have a look.
Have a good week y’all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦤🦩🦩.

Morning Mick, morning All from what is forecast to be a far less wet corner of Somerset.

The new sofa was installed in a blessedly dry spell yesterday. Getting it in was a challenge, fortunately overcome - eventually.

We’d like to wander to our closest NT property today if the weather proves true to the forecast, the decorated house is always a pleasure to visit. Little else on the agenda other than finishing cleaning sofa delivery mud from the carpet.

Sorry you felt unwell grandmattie. Are you doing too much? Go carefully today.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 08-Dec-25 06:17:36

Good morning from a damp looking Torbay but mild.

Yesterday's Dress Rehearsal went well and was appreciated by the few who were making up a small audience. We open tonight when we shall perform in front of an audience of 200, which is nearly a full house! Ticket sales have exceeded all expectations although we knew that the choice of play - It’s A Wonderful Life - would be a popular one.

Yesterday evening I wrapped Christmas presents including some for the exercise class teacher and her admin assistant, often the butt of her jokes. Today will be a light hearted event with games as well as some exercise as it’s the last one before Christmas.

Thinking of those with health issues especially the FGT’sand MD. I hope you’re feeling better, grandMattie, and all will happen as you wish in your flat.

Have as good a day as circumstances allow. 🦩🎁🎄🧑🏻‍🎄🦩

grandMattie Mon 08-Dec-25 06:21:50

I’m fin3 today, just a little fragile, thank you all. These attacks happen when the6 happen; there seems to be no pattern.

All the best with your performance tonight, Ash. Perhaps, “break a leg” (or “merde”) would be more appropriate?

Greyduster Mon 08-Dec-25 06:28:15

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but it looks dry.

Yesterday was a fairly sedentary day, resting my foot, writing cards, further inroads into the Christmas decorating and I cooked myself a roast chicken dinner. GS phoned in the evening to tell me he had finally thought of something he would like as a Christmas present so I got that ordered and out of the way. So I have the main presents sorted - just bits and pieces now.

Nothing much planned today except some batch cooking for the freezer, a general tidy up and to post my cards which will entail a trip to the post office in the next village as there is one to go to my cousin in Ireland.

Have the best day you can, folks.

RosesandLilac Mon 08-Dec-25 06:36:03

Good morning from a very wet hillside in south Glos, I’m just glad it isn’t the equivalent in snow!
Labyrinthitis is horrible grandMattie I’ve had several episodes and, in my case, I think it’s precipitated by stress and not eating/drinking enough. Three times it’s happened when I’ve been driving and away from home 😵‍💫 forcing me to wait it out by a roadside.
I take Stugeron when it happens.
Yesterday I did very little, besides dog walking and cooking dinner I sat and crocheted or read my book. Very lazy but who cares! I might even do the same today…….
I hope all goes well for you all today 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Mon 08-Dec-25 06:40:45

Good morning from a dark S E Essex, we are forecast rain and wind 💨☔️

I managed to get three loads of washing done yesterday, in between I lazed on the sofa.

Today I am off to the gym first thing, then if DH manages to get the Christmas tree into the sitting room I will decorate it.

Thinking of Marydoll and her lost medications

Wishing himself well for his visit to Christie’s FGT2 😘

madeleine45 Mon 08-Dec-25 06:51:04

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a very dark but still morning in North Yorkshire. Cant hear any rain and doesnt feel too cold when I opened the curtains so fingers crossed for a dry day.

Nothing exciting yesterday, but quite a few little jobs sorted, which have been hanging around waiting to be dealt with , so quite satisfying. Then a lot of paperwork sorted and although there is still much not finished, I can see a big bag of stuff done for the recycling, so could actually see some progress which was cheering. I stayed up late as I was following the final of the snooker, which was quite exciting, with some great shots on both sides, but also some very easy pots missed. My father was a good snooker player, but in the end had to choose between snooker and bridge and the bridge won, so have watched him play and still enjoy some good matches on tv if I am around. Dont play myself, as with my back even a casual game would not be worth the risk!

I have a variety of things on this week and a friend of mine has had a look at the buggy and seems to have sorted it out, so fingers crossed, I am going to try it out later on, it was a bit sluggish but worked yesterday, so need to be cautious with it but think that it may be ok. So for all the hassle it has caused me, perhaps it was a trial meant to show me that I should look at my need to have the lightweight one for travelling.

Today I am feeling a little less in pain and am walking in a better manner, so am going to see how the next hour goes, and then all being well, have decided to award myself a trip to the designer outlet near York. By the looks of my calendar and what I know I have on for later in the week, it is the only totally free day , with nothing I have to commit to, and there are a few things I would like to look at, but will be keeping well away from all shopping areas and busy places next week, avoiding all stressed out drivers and shoppers. I will hopefully be able to use the buggy to go for any shopping I need and keep well away from full car parks and that little hitler of a parking man.

So today I will look for one or two small things I hope to find for my grandson, look around at all festivities, but not allow myself to go on the ice rink that they have there for the christmas period. Used to skate quite a lot, but would be totally stupid to risk such a thing now, although I shall enjoy seeing others on it. As I am a free agent, I will be able to go around on their disability scooter, and have a look at the M@S outlet, which I have found on previous visits, is either feast or famine, in particular for underwear and swimming stuff, having in the past found several bargain priced and pretty coloured stuff, yet on other occasions absolutely nothing. Being on the buggy, means that I have of course my own sitting place so all the seats being full wont bother me. I hope it will give me a bit of the christmas spirit and look at all the decorations etc., but if it is too much can easily give up and disappear in the car to somewhere calmer and more to my liking. No doubt I shall return quite shattered, to have something simple to eat and feel that I have done quite enough for one day. We shall see how things pan out.

Hope your day goes well Mick.Take it easy today grandMattie, and hope you will be feeling better , with no return of feeling poorly. Glad the sofa arrived and was installed without incidence cornergran, and hope you get out to the NT place for a restorative visit and return to admire the new piece of furniture before actually enjoying sitting on it.

Wishing a good and productive day for all. May parking spaces and seats appear like magic, and the size you want , actually be available. I shall try and wave my wand over all your doings today!

karmalady Mon 08-Dec-25 06:51:21

Good morning from s somerset, just a short dry window this morning and then rain with dark cloud

My shepherd skirt is finished, it was a very nice sew, challenging but in a good way that enforced me to have breaks to refresh my mind. That one is cool so has been hung in my summer wardrobe. I will be making more and next will be in a wool blend for winter

Yesterday I ordered a couple more patterns, an apron by merchant and mills, without fastenings, slips over the head and crosses over the back and a dress by fabric godmother called aspen, I will make that for this winter. Also a pattern for a waistcoat called Devon, by the modern sewing company I printed that one and cut it out yesterday

Today, first a walk and I always increase my pace if it is for exercise, rather than an amble to the shops. Also I want to get on and make another cosy winter top called toaster 2 and that process will fit in nicely with the rain and bleak sky

Have a good day

Marydoll Mon 08-Dec-25 06:51:23

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow, wheth it is 7°C.
We have had non-stop rain since yesterday. It is so depressing.

Well, this Duracel Bunny has been up since 4,30am, I am wide awake. Probably just as well, as we have Dollie for breakfast and there are pancakes to be made.
DIL wanted to bring shop bought ones, to save me cooking, but it's not the same.

GM, I have the cheek to say it, but perhaps a sign to ease back.♥️ Pot, kettle springs to mind.

Yesterday was exhausting, we only meant to put up one tree, but put both.
DH spent ages looking for tree legs and a tree topper, they were in plain sight, the whole time.🤬
He was getting rattier by the minute and unfortunately, being on steroids, removes what little filters I possess. 😉
By mid afternoon, I felt sick with exhaustion and could do know more. Then I looked at my ankles, the oedema was awful, a sure sign my lungs are struggling.😪

It is Dollie's drama club show today, so I had made up raffle prizes, as they struggling to find funds. It brings the community together and is held in our Parish Hall.
It is run by a former River City actor, who went to school with my son.
I thought I would emulate the scene from Love Actually, where the shop assistant puts lavender in the gift bags. I know, I'm daft. The house smelled like Province!
They looked far better prizes than they actually were.😉
DIL unexpectedly messaged to say, that she would drop in to pick them up on the way to pick Dollie up from rehearsal.
I was so relieved, I wasn't well enough to go out.

However, DIL was a source of bad news.
She had been asked to let me know that, someone had unlocked the out of order toilet and then used it.
They then flushed the disconnected cistern and flooded the place.🤬
I said I already knew, but wasn't going down. A first for me.
One parishioner busybody messaged me to say that I should have better signage.
I politely explained that the signage had been sufficient for one hundred and fifty afternoon tea ladies, Brownies, Guides, Toddlers, Drama Club etc.
I never heard another word. 😉
Today, I will put hazard tape across it.

Two years ago, at Christmas, DH put some of my favourite glass items, including a Cairngorm Glass paperweight (an engagement gift) up the loft. They were never seen again.
Yesterday he found them.
DD, (who denies everything) had moved the box into the eaves, while rummaging through DH's LPs. I had previously been told by DH that I had imagined that they were in the loft. 🤬

Whilst in the loft, DH found the family rocking horse. The children don't want it, Dollie and Babydoll, already own one, given to them by the same aunt, who bought the one we have.
It will be going to the charity shop today, in the hope that it brings a child, the same pleasure it brought them.

Lovely to see Blossoming and Grandmasue posting yesterday. I never got a chance to read properly, due to our business.

Counting down the minutes, until e-consult opens. DH is worried I will be struck off and has cautioned me to be restrained.😇

Best wishes for all, who are struggling. Sar, I hope your granddaughter gets the help, she so urgently needs.♥️

Have the best day possible.x

Grandmabatty Mon 08-Dec-25 06:55:19

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and still raining. GrandMattie take care of yourself and don't do too much. Ashcombe break a leg tonight. I'm sure it will go well.
Yesterday I felt very tired but made myself go to the retail park and bought presents from Marks and from Next. Home again and I got all the Christmas stuff out and spent the rest of the day decorating the house and putting up the tree.
Today I am having a break from very early childcare. Dsil is going on a course and will drop the boys off at school. I'll pick them up later. So I'm still in bed where it's cosy and warm. Today I must write the cards and do an ironing which appears to be breeding. Chicken pie for dinner later. Have a good day all

luluaugust Mon 08-Dec-25 07:15:47

Good morning from a dark W Kent. My cleaner should be coming this morning and I have a pile of ironing. Later I hope to finish decorating the tree.
I hope you get an appointment Marydoll
Best wishes

Good morning from a dark and damp northwest coast.
I’m off to Berkshire this morning to stay with flying DD. Train to Euston and onwards. My sister in London is joining us for a meal too. I stay until Friday, Nutcracker in London and a visit to my in-laws. Got my many layers ready for the cold. Didn’t sleep well, which is usual for me when I have something coming up..

Hope you feel better GM all the best for the show Ash🎭 and thoughts to the FGTs🌺

Redcar Mon 08-Dec-25 07:21:17

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dark out and I don’t know what the weather is doing out there. I think a showery day may be forecast (again).
The Christmas tree was decorated yesterday, one of my DGDs put a few baubles on it, then her cousin finished it when she visited in the afternoon.

Christmas cards and ironing are on my agenda today.

ash enjoy the performance this evening.
md I hope the econsult brings swift and helpful results. Your loft sounds a treasure trove of “lost” items! One of my sons in law is gradually emptying mine, but that just means the contents are spread around the house instead.

I hope all the appointments at the Christie go well this week fgt, fingers crossed for good results from the tests.
I hope all those awaiting results from tests have good results.

Have the best day you can everyone.

ginny Mon 08-Dec-25 07:22:44

Good morning from a windy damp N.Bucks.
A lovely seasonal day yesterday with friends and family. Our choir performance went well, lots of nice comments.
Our friends from Devon leave for home this morning. I have to distant the craft club tree. Tidying to do and it a wash or two on. This afternoon will be spent ordering the last of the Christmas gift and finishing making Christmas cards and a birthday card for DD 2.
Wishing all a good day.

ginny Mon 08-Dec-25 07:24:20

Distant. = dismantle.

GrannyIvy Mon 08-Dec-25 07:38:04

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. Yesterday ended up a wasted day as I too had an attack of labyrinthitis and goodness knows what and just rested. I get attacks if I am stressed and overdoing things and it is a warning to take a step back. GM your body is telling you to rest. So our tree and decorations are still in the loft. I know I have a busy week ahead and it needs two of us to get everything out of the loft so it looks like a delay until next weekend unless Captain Chaos attempts it on his own 🙈 DH is fully occupied this morning fitting a ring doorbell and other jobs at DD2’s house. She is little Miss Chaos at the moment so I’m pleased to be escaping out with friends today and not involved!!

Hoping all goes well Ashcombe and my best wishes to all with challenges today. MD don’t hold back!!

Happy Monday to all 💐

GrannyIvy Mon 08-Dec-25 07:45:17

Karma your skirt is lovely. I am useless at sewing, knitting 🙈. I do attempt crafting activities with the dgc which causes much amusement 😂 However nothing I could proudly display……

Bellasnana Mon 08-Dec-25 07:47:20

A late good morning from Malta where we expect a dry day with a high of 19°C. Still rather windy.

It’s a Public Holiday today, the Immaculate Conception ie. the Birth of Our Lady, so it feels like another Sunday.

The boys are coming over and I’m still struggling to get up. I find this time of year so difficult and just feel anxious all the time.😰

Will read your posts when I’m up and have a coffee in hand, in the meantime I wish you all a good day.☀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 08-Dec-25 07:49:38

Well, that’s disappointing! I typed up a long message and photo and it’s all disappeared!

Have a good day.

Jaxjacky Mon 08-Dec-25 07:54:20

Morning, dry in S Hants, heavy rain due later, worryingly mild, it should be frosty.
Yesterday was quiet, grandsons football called off because the pitch was waterlogged, increasingly a problem. I did go to the farm shop, stepped in a deep puddle, right foot drenched!
Meat draw, no luck, we won’t starve though.
Voluntary phone today and quiz tonight.
Good luck tonight Ashcombe
My thoughts with FGT and himself this week of tests.

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

I’m groggy this morning, I think I saw every hour last night. 💤

It was so wet yesterday afternoon when DD arrived with her middle two that we decided to forgo the Christmas celebrations in the town. Instead we had a lovely time just chatting and enjoying each other’s company.

DH and I are having a festive day out today. I’ve booked a table in the West End for a late afternoon meal after which we’ll go to a lovely little cinema to see White Christmas.

All the best for your opening night Ash.

Thinking of all those with worries and illness. May everyone have the best day possible.

EkwaNimitee Mon 08-Dec-25 08:02:16

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where the sky appears largely clear...so far.
Yesterday I got an early walk in the park as the sun was coming over the trees, lots of noisy birds looking for breakfast and dogs being walked. Some rather mucky ones, there's been lots of rain! The rest of the day was fairly quiet, I wrote my few christmas cards and read this and that.

Today will be busy with the usual jobs of bed changing, laundry and vacuuming, then that's the bulk of housework done for the week.
I look forward to a visit from DS1 later and will hope it doesn't rain, yesterday afternoon was torrential.

Wishing Marydoll every success with her surgery.

I hope you feel better about things soon Bella. It will pass.

Do have a good day everyone.
