๐ŸŽถ ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ„ Time for some fun.๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽˆ
What will you bring to the party?
Something savoury, something sweet, your favourite tipple and a small Secret Santa gift.
Merry Christmas

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 13-Dec-25 14:19:19

Iโ€™ve been trying on outfits LauraNorderr. Do you think I look OTT in this party wear? I can always choose something else if you think itโ€™s too much.

Mind you I might have overdone the Christmas decorations in our apartment this year. Oh well.

DH has been stockpiling Waitrose Cinnamon Knots- 12 boxes at the last count. He won't miss one or two of those.

And, we've just bought a singing moose - really, really happy to donate that.

LauraNorderr Sat 13-Dec-25 14:26:32

Well FGT you kept that boob job quiet.

LauraNorderr Sat 13-Dec-25 14:28:26

Crystal decanter will add a bit of class. Donโ€™t worry though the singing moose will soon bring the tone back to earth.

Beechnut Sat 13-Dec-25 14:30:44

Iโ€™ll bring some tempura prawns, cheesecake, some wine and Iโ€™ll wrap some Christmas socks. (That have been in the gift drawer for yonks).

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 13-Dec-25 14:37:41

Cani bring my Santa? He plays โ€œSanta Claus is coming to townโ€ on his little saxophone! And wiggles! I love him. Weโ€™ve had him 20 years. Always fun at the parties we used to host. ๐ŸŽต ๐ŸŽถ

Grandmabatty Sat 13-Dec-25 14:38:07

I will bring truffles. Mum died in April but had given me her recipe previously (well she couldn't give it afterwards, could she?) I'll bring Jameson's whisky and green ginger to warm our cockles. And festive earrings for the secret Santa.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 13-Dec-25 14:38:38

Just glad I still fit in the leather trousers LauraNorderr!

Grandmabatty Sat 13-Dec-25 14:38:55

Fried green tomatoes, that's not how I imagined you ๐Ÿ˜‚

Charleygirl5 Sat 13-Dec-25 14:57:03

FGT my parents would never have allowed me to go out "looking like that".

I will bring pigs in blankets, roast beef sandwiches and orange juice.

Probably. My sister in law has little imagination for gifts. I will definitely bring all 3 sets of place mats for a table I no longer possess.

I will come in my night attire, less hassle when I return home.

I would like a room to myself where I could listen to Queen, and you lot can sing carols and play charades.

If I get hungry is there a fish and chip shop nearby?

Aveline Sat 13-Dec-25 14:57:20

Can I bring Ant and Dec? They always cheer me up.

kittylester Sat 13-Dec-25 14:59:05

Do we have a venue? Please can it be inside.

Scribbles Sat 13-Dec-25 15:13:04

I can bring a bottle of Stone's Ginger Wine that someone gave us about 30 years ago. I will dust it first.
For the secret Santa, there's that nasty powerful cheap perfume spray that came free with something or other.
I've made a huge, whisky-soaked dark fruit cake - not yet iced but it'll be delicious just as it is.
For the playlist, 12 Days of Christmas by Frank Kelly.
For FGT a big safety pin so you don't fall out of that top and get cold.
By the way, where is the party taking place? I'll need to book my Uber in good time.

brook2704 Sat 13-Dec-25 15:14:27

Youโ€™ve really nailed it fgt stunning - not sure itโ€™ll stay like that until morning though ..
Iโ€™ll bring the Llamas laura theyโ€™re ready for a night out and look impressive all dressed in up their finery. I just hope they behave this year ๐Ÿคญ

BridgetPark Sat 13-Dec-25 15:14:58

I will bring my signature parsnip carrot and swede mash, and will bring the water from the veg, ready to make the gravy. It makes the most tasty gravy you have ever had... not one to boast but I have had many compliments on it.
Also on the playlist I would request Greg Lake dream of Xmas song, brings on such nostalgia. Happy peaceful Christmas to us all...

RosieandherMaw Sat 13-Dec-25 15:23:24

Weโ€™re going to need a butler or waiters.
Shall I bring these along, they (unlike FGT) do seem to be appropriately attired.

Wyllow3 Sat 13-Dec-25 15:25:05

I'll whisk this cheerful group of children all the way from Africa to sing and dance
www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7ZIfABig58&list=RDGMEMz3e4vKpJzevZUeQNb5kIlg&start_radio=1&rv=XpNjbqDpL6Q

And bring some home made mulled wine.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 13-Dec-25 15:28:22

Cor Maw! Thatโ€™ll be me then asking for regular top ups โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜

ixion Sat 13-Dec-25 15:34:00

Ooh, Are you bringing Orlin, LauraNorder?

Has he had to promise to behave himself this year?
I do hope not

Allira Sat 13-Dec-25 15:37:05

MartavTaurus

I'm having a go at making Stollen, so will bring that.
Along with Stille Nacht for the playlist. It sounds so much better in German!

Oh no, I was going to bring Stollen!
The alternative was Tesco Finest Mince Pies but we just had visitors and ate them all ๐Ÿ˜€

I'll bring a small platter of mixed cheeses and olives.
A Chocolate Yule log (I've commissioned Mary Berry to make it for me)
Along with Prosecco
Some fluffy socks with reindeer on the sides.

Last Christmas by Wham
Can we watch the film afterwards? It's so schmaltzy!

Allira Sat 13-Dec-25 15:39:17

Can I bring the Admiral?
He's snoring away in his chair at the moment.

LauraNorderr Sat 13-Dec-25 15:39:44

Well I was bringing Orlin until I saw Rosie offering, now Iโ€™m not too sure.
Seeing as the llamas have made an appearance I guess the venue has to be the ArgyBargy. At least the straw on the floor will take care of their less than civilised behaviour.

LauraNorderr Sat 13-Dec-25 15:41:33

The Admiral. oh no, trust you Allira. As he is a fixture at the Argy do we have any choice

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 13-Dec-25 15:42:30

What did Orlin get up to last year then? I must have left early.

Allira Sat 13-Dec-25 15:43:22

LauraNorderr

The Admiral. oh no, trust you Allira. As he is a fixture at the Argy do we have any choice

I'll sit him in a corner with a bottle of Pussers' Rum and a pile of sausage rolls.
That'll keep him quiet (for a bit).
